My Werewolf System - Chapter 1744 The Glutton Werewolves (Part 4)

Chapter 1744 The Glutton Werewolves (Part 4)
The moment Daphne had made the call she ran towards the stairs and had gotten there rather quickly, the dog she had brought along with them was waiting, and hadn’t attracted the Werewolves attention.
The animal stood still at the edge of the stairwell, ears perked, but not barking, not moving.
Perhaps because they were close to each other in nature, or maybe it was just the fact that there wasn’t enough meat on their bones and they were more preoccupied with the more delicious looking ones in the room.
The sound of tearing flesh and snarling echoed behind them.
Yin followed not too far behind her, as she was able to flip her way there. She dodged swipes, slid under arm strikes, and managed to spin her way without getting hit.
Her movements were fluid and precise, feet barely touching the ground between motions.
Proving why she was one of the higher ranking members within the Bree family.
Right after that was when Koppo also stretched out his arms, and bared his sharp teeth, as he charged through to where they were like a torpedo again.
His heavy footsteps cracked the flooring beneath him.
Some of the Werewolves tried to get in his way, but when they did Koppo opened his mouth wide, and bit down, sinking his teeth into their thick skin’s and taking a large chunk out of them.
Blood splattered across the walls and floor.
Some of them held onto his legs trying to slow him down, but he was able to continue going until he had reached the staircase.
He forced his body forward through sheer will alone.
Seeing how everyone was there Daphne started to head down the staircase with the others, but she quickly noticed something as she turned around.
“Koppo what are you doing!” Daphne shouted. “We have to hurry.”
“You run quickly boss!” Koppo shouted. “I’ll hold them back. The staircase is narrow and there’s only one way they can come from so I’ll buy time!”
His voice echoed down the stairwell.
As Koppo said that one of the Werewolves latched onto him and bit down on his neck, he violently shook off the Werewolf and flung them from his body.
The creature smashed against the wall and slid down, but it was already trying to rise again.
“These guy’s are strong, and fast, so you need all the help you can get, and besides, I’m already done for, I’ll just slow you down.”
Daphne looked at Koppo’s legs and saw large chunks of muscle were gone from them. When he had charged forward, a lot of the Werewolves had latched onto his legs.
Some of them clawing at pieces, ripping flesh away without hesitation.
It was a miracle he had managed to make it over to where the others were with the state he was in, but his will to at least do something before he was gone was what had driven him.
His breathing was heavy, blood pouring down the steps beneath him.
“Yin we have to go, it’s just like you said, I need to make the best decision to save as many of us as possible.” Daphne said. And as she ran down she shouted words.
“I will always remember you Koppo, you shall be remembered.”
Her voice cracked slightly as she forced herself to keep moving.
While running down the stairs Daphne couldn’t help but feel regret. What if she had brought more people with her. What if she had been more careful about the whole situation.
Her mind replayed every decision she had made that day.
As soon as they saw the amount of dead bodies, that should have been a sign to turn away.
Of course, she couldn’t have known, and being one of the King’s with a strong group of Altered it was hard for them to fear much.
Confidence had always protected them.
Now it felt like arrogance.
They continued to run down the stairs even with the regret filled thoughts in their minds as they needed to escape.
The sound of snarling echoed from above.
They were quick on their feet but after reaching two floors down from where they were, and as they were about to reach the flat platform, out from the door burst out one of the same Werewolves.
The door exploded off its hinges.
The door broke down and two of them appeared in front of them.
Using the momentum as they were running Daphne jumped up and slammed her foot right in the face of one of the Werewolves breaking part of the wall behind it.
Concrete cracked from the impact.
While Yin, quickly ducked underneath a strike, and then quickly threw her hands stabbing the Werewolf several times in the stomach.
Her claws pierced flesh again and again.
At a glance though they both could see from the staircase they had come from, that there were more of them coming up.
Their shadows stretched along the walls as they climbed.
‘Have they taken over this whole building, are they everywhere?’ Daphne thought, as she ran into the room where the door had broken down.
It was another office space, only this one seemed to be used as a photo set shoot, as there was a number of set’s that were on display, and it wasn’t as nearly as destroyed as the other room they were in but it was filled with blood and people as well.
Lighting rigs hung crookedly from the ceiling.
Backdrops were stained dark red.
The metallic scent filled the air.
The two went ahead into the room, hoping that there would be less and maybe there was some way they could get out of there, even if they had to fight and continue running.
They searched quickly with their eyes for another exit.
As the two ran ahead, one of the Werewolves leapt, and was about to grab onto the two of them.
Its claws stretched outward.
They turned around to strike or fight back when they could see an individual getting right in between the two of them.
A black trench coat floated in their view, and blood was seen flying through the air.
The motion was controlled, precise.
“Cover yourselves!” The man shouted, as the red substance exploded the moment it hit the Werewolf.
The blast tore through the creature mid air, sending flesh scattering across the studio walls.
For a split second, the entire room went silent except for the sound of blood hitting the floor.
