My Werewolf System - Chapter 1798 Luzen's Battle

Chapter 1798 Luzen’s Battle
Luzen had completely transformed into his full Werewolf body because his specific bow was incredibly special in the fact that its attacks would change entirely based on the physical state he was currently in, adapting seamlessly to his bloodline.
Usually, whenever he was fighting from a distance in his human form, the high-tension arrows performed pure kinetic damage that remained completely silent and invisible to the naked eye, meaning in a tactical way, as a direct offensive weapon, it was far better to be used in his human form to catch enemies off guard and eliminate them without a trace.
However, when he was in his Werewolf form, the weapon reacted to his aura, and spirit-like wolves that relentlessly tracked down their targets were unleashed the moment he pulled the string.
As Luzen pulled the arrows back, several glowing spirit wolves had immediately appeared in the air around him and were aggressively heading straight for the massive Shark-like Glutton.
One of the spirit wolves had jumped right into its face, and the Glutton simply snapped its large mouth and jaw shut, eating the energy construct apart in seconds, so the wolf did next to nothing to actually harm the massive beast, but several of the other spirit wolves had already gone around its wide guard and had now hit the monster, gnawing relentlessly on its thick foot to anchor it to the ground.
While the beast was momentarily distracted by the biting constructs, that was when Luzen had come charging right ahead across the debris and kicked his heavy foot deep into its thick, muscular neck.
He had done so from a surprisingly low position, successfully snapping the bottom of its jaw upward with a loud, echoing crack, and then with a sharp clawed hand, Luzen had brutally struck the side of the Glutton’s torso to draw blood, and right in the middle of his spin to retreat, he transformed swiftly back into his human form and fired several invisible arrows directly at the side of its head.
The high-tension arrows went tearing through the tough, mutated flesh and right through to the other side of the skull, creating deep, visible wounds that continuously poured dark blood onto the pavement.
“Doesn’t this mutated thing even have a brain? It’s an incredibly large target, and even though I’m hitting it right through the skull with lethal force, the thing is stubbornly still alive,” Luzen complained in frustration, quickly knocking another arrow to his bowstring as he watched the monster shake off the hit.
Suddenly, a stretched-out arm went flying right by his face as Luzen leaned his torso back just in time to avoid the lethal claws, and then with his bow, he shot three rapid shots perfectly at the regular Glutton who had tried to sneak-attack him, sending the beast crashing heavily to the floor with three holes in its chest.
He was heavily focusing his attention on taking down the Altered Glutton, but that definitely didn’t mean he could simply forget about all of the other regular enemies that were constantly swarming around him in the chaotic courtyard.
That brief distraction was exactly when the major problem had occurred, because as he looked back toward his primary target, the Shark-like Glutton had already charged forward, and he could see its terrifyingly large mouth opening up incredibly wide as it lunged.
The shadow of the jaw fell over him, and it almost looked exactly like the jagged teeth and mouth were going to completely consume his entire body whole in a single bite, leaving him with only mere seconds to react, and the absolute only thing he could physically do to save himself was shove the sturdy, rigid frame of the bow directly into the monster’s open mouth.
The Glutton bit down fiercely, and the top and bottom pointed ends of the weapon pierced painfully right through the soft roof and the bottom of the beast’s mouth, but almost immediately, the incredibly powerful jaws were flexing against the metal, and the immense pressure made it feel like at any given second, the entire bow would completely break in half under the sheer weight of the bite.
“You know, I really liked this specific bow, so I would greatly appreciate it if you didn’t break it!” Luzen shouted in frustration, his boots sliding against the concrete, but as he desperately pulled and pushed against the frame, there seemed to be absolutely nothing he could do to pry it free from the crushing grip of the monster’s jaws.
The sickening sound of the metal bow bending could be heard splitting the air as if it was going to violently break into pieces at any second, and he realized that if his prized weapon was going to break anyway, then he absolutely needed to do at least one more thing to make the sacrifice count.
So, standing his ground, he grabbed hold of the tension and started to pull on the string, firing arrow after arrow in rapid succession as it continued to fire the invisible projectiles right down the throat and into the mouth of the Glutton Werewolf at point-blank range.
The sheer kinetic force of the arrows went right through nearly its entire massive body, destroying its internal organs as he continued to push the string back, and then, with a final surge of monstrous strength, the Glutton had forcefully pushed down, completely shutting its heavy jaw and shattering the weapon.
With the weapon destroyed, Luzen had absolutely no choice but to quickly let go of the string and throw himself backward, rolling safely onto the rough concrete ground to avoid being crushed by the snapping teeth.
When he got back up to his feet, he could clearly see that the core parts of his bow had been completely destroyed, and the weapon had been completely broken beyond repair by the serrated teeth, while for a tense moment, the Shark-like Glutton Werewolf was also still standing tall over the wreckage, but when the beast attempted to take its very next step forward, its whole massive body tilted heavily to the side and collapsed dead on the ground, lying completely motionless in its own expanding pool of dark blood.
The sheer amount of concentrated damage delivered so close and so direct down its throat was just a little bit too much for even an Altered mutant like them to survive.
“You would have undeniably been a good brother to fight alongside us against the Vampires, and now you have taken away one of our strongest weapons as well,” Luzen muttered, looking down at the broken pieces of his bow. “If Midwak is even stronger than you are in this Altered form, I’m really not entirely sure that taking him out alone is a good idea for us.”
However, the chaotic fighting was nowhere near over where they currently were in the courtyard, as Luzen looked past the perimeter and could see in the distance that it looked like a giant-sized Glutton, standing as incredibly big as a two-story house, had suddenly appeared and was actively transforming in size to become an even larger threat.
And judging by the loud explosions echoing across the compound, there was severe trouble breaking out in the other areas of the base as well, stretching their forces incredibly thin.
“I’ll try my best to just hold them back for now rather than focusing on getting rid of them all, maybe there’s a better tactical solution to all of this madness,” Luzen commented to himself, right as he aggressively swung his heavy leg upward, kicking a leaping regular Glutton right in the center of its face.
