Myth Beyond Heaven - Chapter 3039: Crying Through The Nine Heavens

Chapter 3039: Crying Through The Nine Heavens
Nantian Fengyu’s fiery eyes widened in horror. She could feel her own power, immense as it was, being stretched. Defying a direct attack was one thing; protecting an entire land and every fragile life within it from a primordial’s full, indiscriminate wrath was another.
Screech!
She unleashed her power to its absolute limit. A dome of incandescent Phoenix fire erupted from her, attempting to cover the entire Land of Beyond Heaven, to shield every fallen friend, every blade of grass she had revitalized.
For a moment, it held. The gray storm of time crashed against her golden-red dome, and was held at bay. The two forces warred, light against gray, life against entropy.
But Nian Shi, his face a mask of furious contempt, pressed down. He poured more of his primordial might into the assault. The Blade of Eternity in his hand glowed like a dead star, channeling the end of all things.
Crack!
A fissure appeared in Nantian Fengyu’s fiery dome. Then another. She was being pressed down, step by agonizing step. Her magnificent form flickered, the flames that composed her body dimming slightly under the unbearable pressure.
She was a fixed point of life, but Nian Shi was bringing the weight of all endings to bear upon her.
“A mere Phoenix!” Nian Shi’s voice cut through the chaos, cold and dripping with venomous scorn. “A creature of rebirth and cycles! How dare you defy the end of the cycle itself? How dare you stand against me? Your fire will be extinguished! Your life will be forgotten! You are nothing but a momentary spark in the infinite darkness!”
Each word was a hammer blow against her will. She could feel her strength waning. The dome of fire shrank, the cracks spreading wider. The gray storm pressed closer, its decaying energy beginning to leach the vitality from the edges of the land she protected. The green grass at the periphery started to turn gray again.
Nantian Fengyu strained, her very soul screaming in agony. She glanced down, her Phoenix sight taking in the devastating scene.
She saw Long Xi’s broken form, the Dragon Queen who had always been so proud, now lying in the dust.
She saw Long Qinxuan, her fierce spirit extinguished, motionless.
She saw the small white tiger cub that was Linlin, and the faint, fading whisper of wind that was all that remained of Qingqing.
She saw Gui Xuan, the little boy who called her sister, pale and lifeless.
She saw all of them, her family, her friends, the people she had fought alongside for so long.
And finally, her gaze settled on him. Yun Lintian. Her Junior Brother. Her Feng. He sat in perfect meditation, serene and untouched, the balance of creation and uncreation swirling within him, on the cusp of an enlightenment that could save them all… if only he had time.
A profound calm settled over her. The fear and strain vanished, replaced by a love so vast and deep it eclipsed even the primordial fury arrayed against her.
She had done it once before, in a city long turned to dust, as Nantian Yu. She had given her life for him then. She would do it again now, but this time, she would make it count for eternity.
She met Nian Shi’s furious gaze, and in her burning eyes, he saw not defiance, but acceptance. And that enraged him more than any attack.
Nantian Fengyu threw her head back and let out a final, world-tearing cry. It was not a screech of defiance, but a song—a lament, a promise, and a declaration all in one.
“Divine Phoenix… Crying Through the Nine Heavens!”
It was her final move. The ultimate technique of the Divine Phoenix Clan, one that required the complete and total sacrifice of everything: body, soul, spirit, past, present, and future.
Her magnificent Phoenix form dissolved. She did not explode. She unmade herself into her purest essence. She became a raging, sentient storm of primordial fire—a tempest of life and rebirth so intense it outshone the sun.
This storm of flames did not attack. It enveloped.
It swept over Yun Lintian, forming an impenetrable, swirling cocoon of protective fire around him.
It then expanded, covering Long Xi, Long Qinxuan, Gui Xuan, Yue Zhihe, every single fallen defender, the Tree of Life—everything and everyone she held dear.
The gray storm of Nian Shi’s temporal annihilation crashed against this final, desperate barrier.
And for the first time, it was completely, utterly, and absolutely stopped.
The raging flames of Nantian Fengyu’s sacrifice did not resist time; they existed in a state beyond it. They were a perpetual moment of ultimate protection, a testament to a love that would not, could not, end.
They burned with the power of her entire being, a shield that would last until the end of time itself, or until Yun Lintian awoke.
BANG!
Nian Shi’s furious attacks slammed against the fiery storm, but they could not penetrate. His power of decay was rendered null against a force that had willingly embraced its end to create something eternal.
The God of Time could only stare, furious and bewildered, at the impassable wall of flame. He had been thwarted, not by a peer, but by the ultimate, illogical power of sacrifice.
The Phoenix had cried her final cry, and its echo would protect her loved ones against even the end of time.
“Lintian… You must live well.”
Nantian Fengyu’s last whisper lingered in the wind. It was the first time she called his name directly instead of junior brother like she used to do.
This was her truest feeling…
Nian Shi stared, his silver eyes wide with a mixture of fury and utter disbelief. The raging storm of Phoenix fire stood before him, impervious and radiant. He, the God of Time, the master of all endings, had been completely halted. His temporal annihilation storm had dissipated against it like waves against an unbreakable cliff.
“Impossible…” he snarled, the word tasting like ash in his mouth. This was not just a barrier; it was an affront to his very nature.
