Necromancer Of The Shadows - Chapter 1355: Dragon Islands (Part 2)

Chapter 1355: Dragon Islands (Part 2)
Evan and Sylvan left the cave where the core of the World Tree was located.
Once outside, they wasted no time and headed straight for the teleportation building.
On the way, Sylvan kidnapped Ashley to take her along. Since they were heading to the Dragon Islands to mess around in a war, there would be countless things scattered across the battlefield that could be collected and sold for money.
Sylvan felt it was beneath him—as an old man who was already a Rank Six Core Evolver—to scavenge through scraps on the battlefield.
As a result, he decided to bring along his lovely granddaughter Ashley, assigning her the noble duty of collecting all the battlefield loot on his behalf.
When Ashley heard that she would once again be reduced to a trash collector, a lifeless expression appeared on her face.
She pretended to suffer a heatstroke and fainted on the spot, hoping that the old man would show mercy and let her stay behind in the closed world of the Dryads.
However, the old man simply picked up the ’unconscious’ Ashley and happily carried her along with them.
And just like that… the Trash Collector Ashley was back online.
Evan could hardly bear to watch the girl’s expression of pure despair. In the end, he told her that he would have some of his shadow undeads collect the scraps on the battlefield for her.
When Ashley heard Evan’s words, she was so moved that she seriously considered offering herself to marry him.
But then she remembered a certain shadow dragon… and immediately deleted that idea from her mind.
She felt like she was far too young to dig her own grave. Since she couldn’t offer herself as a bride, Ashley simply patted Evan’s shoulder and spoke like a mafia boss.
“From now on, your business is my business.”
Using the teleportation formation, Ashley, Sylvan, and Evan appeared a few hundred thousand kilometers away from the Boundless Ocean, where the main battlefield between the two behemoths of Utopia was located.
The Dragon Islands was somewhere deep within the Boundless Ocean, and it was extremely difficult to reach.
If the dragons wanted, they could have basically ignored this war altogether by using their geographical advantage.
After all, even though the demons were enraged by what the golden dragon from the Tomb of the Ancient did, they couldn’t possibly attack the Dragon Islands—located in the middle of the vast ocean—where the dragons held absolute superiority.
However, to provoke the dragons into fighting, the demons began hunting and killing many dragons who were on the mainland.
Although most dragons resided in the Dragon Islands, they still needed to send people to the mainland for various resources and dealings.
To provoke them further, the demons targeted those dragons who were stationed on the mainland or visited it for any reason.
Not only that, the demons even went as far as to talk immense amounts of trash about the dragons—calling them cowards and saying they were too scared to fight.
As absurd as it might sound, dragons were prideful beings. Even though they could have ignored the demon attacks on their kin, they couldn’t tolerate being insulted.
As a result, the dragons mobilized their army and launched an attack from the Dragon Islands, igniting the war near the mainland of the Boundless Ocean.
The situation between the demons and dragons had already been delicate.
At that critical moment, Evan, Anastasia, Alaric, Sylvan, and Ashley acted like absolute bastards and killed Anderson Bloodworth—a Rank Six vampire—and pinned the blame on the demons. (Chap—1040)
As a result, the vampires also became involved in the war.
Both the demons and dragons—and now even the vampires—could tell that something suspicious was going on, as if someone were orchestrating events behind the scenes to plunge all of Utopia into chaos.
But… even if they suspected it, what could they do?
The demons and dragons had already crossed the point of no return due to the provocations, and even though they realized something was amiss, the war didn’t stop.
The vampires were the same. They, too, knew something was wrong about Anderson’s death. But even if they did, they couldn’t find the real culprit.
The hierarchy of the Bloodmoon Empire—the vampire empire—was extremely strict. A Duke of the Empire had been suddenly killed. If the higher-ups did nothing, it would shake the foundation of the Empire and cause unrest.
So, even though they suspected something was wrong, they still had no choice but to retaliate against the demons, who had been framed.
While the vampires didn’t go into full-scale war with the demons like the dragons did, they still provided some form of support to the dragons—and the demon faction found themselves in a precarious position.
For Evan, this was exactly what he wanted.
Before Baphomet returned, he wanted to cause as much damage as possible to the Demon Empire.
Of course, the dragons were also affected—but compared to them, the demons were his priority.
After all, his girlfriend was the Progenitor of the Shadow Dragons. When it came to dragons, he didn’t need to lift a finger.
If any dragon dared to act cocky in front of him, he’d just go hug Anastasia’s thigh—and she would rub all those dragons into the ground on his behalf.
Ashley briefly updated Evan and Sylvan about the current situation of the war and waited for them to decide what to do next.
Since Evan and the others were always running around the world and throwing everything into chaos, she was the one responsible for keeping tabs on important matters that could prove useful to them.
“The situation for the demons isn’t looking good, huh…” Evan muttered, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
Ashley’s mouth twitched when she heard him speak in such an innocent tone—as if the demon empire’s suffering had nothing to do with him.
When in reality, he was the very reason the demons were going through hell.
“All right, decision made. Let’s head to the main battlefield and bring this war to an end…” Evan looked at Sylvan and Ashley with a serious expression. “I’m someone who loves peace. These bastards are disturbing the peace of the world. As someone who promotes peace across the globe, it’s my sacred duty to end this war.”
Sylvan: “…”
Ashley: “…”
Shadow Undeads inside his shadow storage: “…”
