Nine Star Hegemon Body Arts - Chapter 6135 Stalling

Chapter 6135 Stalling
This group of Sovereign Lords had been lurking behind a grand formation, coldly awaiting their prey. When they sensed the original devil race’s arrival, they grinned savagely.
To them, this hunt was nothing more than a game of cat and mouse. Everything was completely under control.
But the moment the Earth Cauldron crashed onto the scene, their smiles froze.
Long Chen struck from another angle, directly killing one of them with his saber. Before the others could react, a blast of lightning shot from Long Chen’s palm, piercing straight through another Sovereign Lord’s head. Two of their fiercest experts fell before they even grasped what was happening.
But when Long Chen went for a third kill, that target reacted in time.
BOOM!
A furious palm struck Long Chen, launching him backward like a comet.
This was the downside of a sneak attack. Long Chen had suppressed his aura and relied on basic techniques, which was not his forte. If someone from the Shadow race had been in his place, they could’ve taken out five or six of them in the opening volley. But Long Chen was no assassin.
“Long Chen!”
The Sovereign Lords instantly recognized him and pounced.
Seeing their enemies converge on Long Chen, the experts of the original devil race were horrified. Over thirty third Heavenstage Sovereign Lords? This wasn’t a battle—they had walked into a massacre.
Still, when they saw Long Chen under siege, they howled and surged forward, trying to protect him.
But at that moment, the Earth Cauldron released a wave of divine light. The devil race’s warriors froze in midair as an invisible force pulled them into the cauldron.
“Long Chen!” Yue Xiaoqian cried out.
She had thought that Long Chen planned to charge over with everyone to break through.
Only now did she understand—he had never intended to fight beside them. He planned to face all thirty-plus Sovereign Lords alone.
She tried to resist, but the Earth Cauldron’s force was absolute. She could only watch helplessly as she was drawn away from the battlefield.
“You think you can run?” A Sovereign Lord sneered at the retreating cauldron. “You’re staying behind!”
However, before any of them could make a move, Long Chen roared. His divine ring and starry sea erupted into existence. A massive astral gate opened behind him, pouring wild astral energy into the world.
“Four stars, Devil Prison!”
As Long Chen formed hand seals, astral pillars descended from his starry sea, piercing the land. Starlight flowed between the pillars, forming a cage.
Above them was the starry sea, and beneath them was the ground. They were all trapped in it, including Long Chen.
By trapping himself within the formation’s core, he amplified its power to the limit.
“Do you think this little trick can stop us?” sneered a Sovereign Lord with a scaly horn. “You’re naive, Long Chen. You’ll die here, and they won’t get far.”
BOOM!
He activated all three of his Sovereign bodies and slammed a fist into the barrier. The cage trembled, but he was blown backward several steps.
“What?!”
His expression completely changed. How could a Human Emperor raise such a terrifying barrier?
Refusing to believe this, he started to punch the barrier like a madman. Each blow was reflected with backlash. On the final strike, his Blood Qi churned, and he was forced to stop.
Long Chen coldly said, “This formation blends astral energy with the violet blood race’s Heaven Blocking Shield. I am its core. As long as I live, you’re not leaving.”
“Then we’ll just kill you first!”
That monstrous Sovereign Lord was clearly an impatient person. While the others were still pondering the best course of action, he immediately attacked Long Chen.
Long Chen’s sudden appearance instantly unsettled the Sovereign Lords. Something felt off. With the violet blood race, the dragon race, and the High Firmament Academy backing him, it was hard to believe he’d come alone.
And yet, here he was—sealing them all in a cage by himself.
It just didn’t add up. These old monsters had lived long enough to recognize when something smelled wrong. Their instincts screamed caution.
Only one of them—the horned Sovereign Lord—ignored all signs. Reckless and impatient, he charged without hesitation, his claw-like fingers tearing through the void toward Long Chen.
But just as he was about to strike, Long Chen vanished. His claws sliced through empty air.
“You fools,” Long Chen said, his voice ringing out coldly. “The original devil race’s divine runes are a gift from the heavens. They suppress devil creatures. Without them, the nine heavens and ten lands will fall. Why are you trying to destroy them?”
“Cut the crap. Without the original devil race, we can still fight off the devil creatures. I’ll kill whoever I want to! So what?”
With that, he suddenly split into two, his doppelgangers attacking Long Chen from both sides.
Both bodies brimmed with Sovereign qi. There was no way to tell which was real and which was fake. For a demon to use such refined human battle techniques revealed just how unique his bloodline was.
However, Long Chen refused to fight him directly. His Kunpeng wings flapped, leaving behind one afterimage after another. That person couldn’t catch up to him.
“Trying to stall, are you?” sneered another elder, arms crossed behind his back. “It’s pointless. Master Long Can already left her mark on those devil race survivors. They’re too weak to sense it. No matter how far they run, it’s useless. Their deaths are already guaranteed.”
Long Chen was startled to hear that. After that, he cursed himself for not using his brain and thinking of this possibility. He had simply assumed that someone in the original devil race had sold them out.
“I’ve located the markers,” said the Earth Cauldron in Long Chen’s mind. “Give me a couple of minutes, and I can erase them. But once I do, Long Can will sense it instantly. Worst case, she comes immediately. We aren’t sure how far her recovery has progressed.”
Long Can was an original member of the Eight Great Divine Commanders, a terrifying expert from the primal chaos era. With Lord Brahma’s faith energy as a foundation, her recovery rate would definitely be shocking.
Back during Long Chen’s tribulation, she was already a third Heavenstage Sovereign. Now? She could be fourth. Even fifth.
“It’s fine. Last time, the palace master cut off her arm and harmed her core. Having lost that much faith energy, it will definitely take her time to recover. That kind of injury doesn’t heal overnight. She may not have advanced. Senior, go ahead. Erase the markers.”
Just as Long Chen and the Earth Cauldron conversed, the demon Sovereign Lord abruptly stopped chasing Long Chen and opened his mouth. A piercing beam of blood-red divine light tore through the air.
BOOM!
It came too fast.
Long Chen had no time to dodge and could only block with his fist. The beam pierced through his protective divine light and slammed into him, sending him flying.
A strange rune appeared on his fist, and now it was spreading across his body like wildfire.
“Try running now, brat!” The demon laughed. “That’s my blood curse. You’re mine!”
He opened his mouth again, spitting out a black sword like a serpent striking.
“They’re far enough. Begin!” Long Chen roared.
BOOM!
The blood curse exploded as Long Chen’s astral energy surged violently, shattering it from within.
A hand glowing with starlight shot out and caught the black sword mid-flight.
And then—it vanished.
The demon Sovereign Lord choked on blood. His soul had been tied to that weapon, and now a part of his soul was gone with it.
In that instant of soul-wrenching agony, another astral hand gripped his throat and lifted him like a dead chicken.
