Chapter 2566: Death of the Azure Dragon
Kami has already planned everything at this very moment as they have done for everything. The Azure Dragon could feel his strength waning as his dragon orb is destroyed. The dragon orb of the Azure Dragon acts as another conduit for it to gather mana from the surrounding area. It is currently sealed in a place where even those that guard it have no idea of it.
The Azure Dragon even made sure to erase the memory of the guard regarding the dragon orb but made sure to make it seem like it is the most important treasure of that household. It should not have fallen into the hands of others, but it seems that Kami used a method to do so. They might have found the possible locations of the dragon orb and then proceeded to insert their own people in each of the households.
They actually found the dragon orb by sheer luck when they were in the midst of laying low due to the defeat of the Primordial Beasts of Sin. They then proceeded with the next phase of their plan despite having lost most of the divine energy they needed. They found an alternative which is to kill all of the Four Cardinal Divine Beasts in order to weaken their grasp on the eastern continent.
If the Four Divine Cardinal Beasts are truly killed, then they could steal the authority from them. They would then prepare to brainwash all of the people in the eastern continent in order to make them believe that they were their true gods after all. Kami wanted to return to their divine ways, and they would sacrifice even the world itself just to make sure that they succeed.
“Did you think that just destroying my dragon orb would enable you to kill me?!” The Azure Dragon shouted as it roared towards the sky.
As soon as the Azure Dragon roared, a powerful blast of lightning suddenly came towards it and directly hit its body. Izanami could not hold on as her entire body was electrified by the attack. The Azure Dragon also became different as his body became darker in color as electricity ran on its serpentine body. The Azure Dragon did not waste its chance as it released a powerful blast of lightning once again.
Izanagi managed to catch Izanami, but the attack of the Azure Dragon is headed towards them. The Azure Dragon thought that it has already secured its victory as the two demigod Immortals were unable to escape. The Azure Dragon was waiting for the death of the two when a dark cloud suddenly swooped right in front of the two and a large man with horns appeared from the dark cloud.
The large man has reddish skin with two sticks on his hands. Behind him are a set of drums that circled around him like a mandala. The Azure Dragon recognized this man because it is one of the forbidden beings that was sealed way back then. Even the area where he was sealed is considered top secret. The fact that he has returned meant that the other twin brother should also be unsealed as well.
“Raijin!” The Azure Dragon shouted in anger as it was none other than the unsealed God of Lightning, Thunder, and Storms.
Raijin was not a god that was beneficial though as he often likes to go destroy anything in his path. He believed that the world should always be gloomy and filled with storms. He cannot be killed though as he is considered the personification of the storms in the eastern continent. If he is killed, then even rain would be no more in the eastern continent.
Raijin easily accepted the lightning released by the Azure Dragon as if it ate something tasty. The power of the lightning released by the Azure Dragon fizzled as soon as it entered Raijin’s mouth. Raijin was just unsealed so he currently has the strength of a lesser god but even that power is enough to contend with the Azure Dragon because of a special reason.
“I am here to take back the authority that you have stolen from me!” Raijin shouted as he banged his drums so loud that the sky almost parted apart from the aftershock.
“A god that only knows joy in destroying everything with storms have no right to wield the authority of rain! I shall just seal you once again!” The Azure Dragon shouted as it charged forward in an attempt to weaken Raijin.
“Did you think that I came alone?” Raijin stated as a powerful blast of wind suddenly sent the Azure Dragon flying back.
“I am here to retrieve the authority of wind that you have taken from me as well!” Fujin stated in an angry manner as his large air bag blew up to double his size.
Fujin is the twin brother of Raijin, but he holds a large air bag that contains streams of wind blowing from all the corners of the eastern continent. Just like his brother Raijin, Fujin is the personification of the winds in the eastern continent. They spawned when the eastern continent came to be. Fujin has gray toned skin unlike his brother but they both look identical.
Raijin and Fujin teamed up against the Azure Dragon as the three beings clashed. Izanagi and Izanami could only watch as their current strength could not contend with a divine beast. They managed to tame Raijin and Fujin with the intricate spell they used against the Seven Primordial Beasts of Sin. They made sure that the mark will never be broken but it also comes at a cost.
Kami has already learned that they cannot subjugate divine beings easily, but they can negotiate. The mark that Raijin and Fujin have are stronger, but it will be gone once they have fulfilled their contract with Kami. The contract was none other than helping Kami in defeating the Azure Dragon. The contract was easily signed by the two brothers as they also wanted revenge against the Azure Dragon for taking their authorities over the rain and wind away.
“Get ready, my beloved. They are now at the climax of their battle.” Izanami stated as she could see that Raijin and Fujin are defeating the Azure Dragon.
Raijin and Fujin moved in such a coordinated manner that they are practically toying with the Azure Dragon. They are only able to do this because the Azure Dragon lost some of its power from its dragon orb being destroyed. Still, the two gods made use of the wind and lightning far better than the Azure Dragon itself.
“You stole our authority from us yet that is the best you can do! Pitiful!” Raijin shouted as he slammed his drums harder to release a powerful blast of lightning towards the Azure Dragon.
“This is how you use the wind!” Fujin shouted as he widened the air bag hole further which released a literal tornado.
The combined attacks of Raijin and Fujin trapped the Azure Dragon in place as it could only defend. This was the perfect chance that Izanagi was waiting for as he gripped his spear. Izanagi then used whatever divine energy he could as it covered his entire body. A powerful energy of death covered the body of Izanagi as his spear reacted to it.
Izanagi then locked onto the Azure Dragon that is being pinned down by Raijin and Fujin. Once he had a clear sight of his target, Izanagi released his spear with all his might that it broke through the sound barrier. The Azure Dragon suddenly felt a chill on his spine, but it was already too late. The spear that Izanagi threw pierced its head in a swift manner and killed the Azure Dragon.
The death of the Azure Dragon was felt by the entire eastern continent because a powerful storm suddenly exploded in an instant. Two orbs of energy suddenly shot out of the dead body of the Azure Dragon and the two gods reached for it. Raijin finally got back the Authority of Rain while Fujin regained the Authority of Wind.
The body of the Azure Dragon suddenly fell as the two authorities that made it float got taken away. Izanagi then became weakened as he pushed his body to the limit. He immediately coughed up blood as soon as he reverted back to his human looking form. Izanami made sure to take care of Izanagi, but she also made a request to Raijin and Fujin to recover the body of the Azure Dragon.
The body of the Azure Dragon is an immeasurable treasure as its scales are powerful ingredients. Its meat is also filled with divine energy as well which means it could replenish some of theirs. Raijin and Fujin agreed because they also want a taste of dragon meat. As the two brothers were about to fly down, a number of moon rocks suddenly fell towards the area which distracted them.
