Chapter 2567: Rain and Wind
The large moon rocks that fell from the sky managed to deter Raijin and Fujin from collecting the body of the Azure Dragon immediately. They had to use their own powers to blast away the moon rocks that suddenly came hurling towards them. Izanagi and Izanami suddenly felt the presence of a Ryujin which made them look below.
A pink Ryujin could be seen flying at full speed and activated an artifact. The large body of the Azure Dragon suddenly lost all mana in it. The mana that held its body intact suddenly dissipated which made it turn to dust. The only things that did not turn to dust is another dragon orb that is the deepest blue one could find.
“Get that orb!” Izanami shouted at Raijin and Fujin.
The two gods also realized that someone did something below but only learned to find that the body of the Azure Dragon vanished. They saw an unfamiliar Ryujin that had great power and were a bit hesitant to make their move, but they had to honor the agreement with Kami. Raijin and Fujin immediately rode their clouds to catch up to none other than Peridot.
Peridot managed to get the blue orb, but the two gods were chasing after her. The speed of the two gods is incomparable to that of Peridot’s. They are incarnation of wind and lightning after all which meant they are one of the natural forces with speed ingrained in them. Just as the two were about to catch up, a Kirin suddenly appeared before them and with a passenger that smelled like a forest.
The passenger suddenly changed his form to his real one and tackled both of the gods. One would think that the two gods would be able to easily get rid of Levin Cloud, but his current form is that of the Winter Tree variant of his real form. His body is made up of frozen leaves and emitted the bitter cold as well. The two gods, Raijin and Fuijn, felt the intense cold creep on them which led to them slowing down by a lot.
In the end, the surprise attack from Levin Cloud managed to shock the two gods. The three of them could be seen to crash to the ground with a powerful force. When the smoke cleared, Raijin and Fujin saw that that they were not as damaged as they thought since their bodies are made of elements after all. The only thing that they did see that is broken are ice shards from where Levin Cloud’s body should have been.
“He escaped!” Raijin stated.
“It seems that we are still not back at our full strength, brother. Our current energies are unstable because of our authorities returning back to us.” Fujin stated.
Raijin and Fujin wanted to try and follow them, but they are no longer in their detectable range. Both Raijin and Fujin have great detection range that they can cover a quarter of the entire eastern continent. The fact that they could not feel the two means that the Peridot and Levin Cloud were able to escape to a place they cannot detect.
“We lost them.” Raijin and Fujin reported to Izanami.
Izanami wanted to protest and call them useless, but their binding vows are no longer available. The contract with Raijin and Fujin were just for the defeat of the Azure Dragon. They did help in defeating the Azure Dragon, but they were not contracted to help further than that. They just wanted a piece of the Azure Dragon as well but having none of it is still fine for them as well. They had carried out their revenge on the Azure Dragon that stole their authorities.
“The deal is done.” Raijin stated.
“With this, we are free from your constraint.” Fujin added.
Izanagi and Izanami could not refute as these two are more powerful than the current them. They know that they cannot oppose them openly or else they will get killed. Seeing that the two are in a good mood, Izanagi agreed that their cooperation has been completed. They are now free to do whatever their want.
“Finally! It is time to summon the winds, brother!” Fujin stated.
“It is time to summon the lightning!” Raijin added.
“We shall punish the people of that the Azure Dragon cherished! We shall destroy the capital that it has constructed with utmost care and effort!” Both Raijin and Fujin shouted as they rose to the skies and used their powers to the utmost of what they can accomplish.
The people that are protected by the Azure Dragon felt it as their divine entity has been killed off. They could no longer feel the presence of their divine beast. The city suddenly fell into chaos as there were other assailants that ransacked everything. To make matters worse for the people living in Azure City, Raijin and Fujin descended before them.
“To the people that worshipped the Azure Dragon, to you… I bring the STORM!” Raijin shouted as his voice reverberated in the entire area as the clouds became dark and gloomy.
Raijin slammed his batons towards the drums that he has and made it rain like it never ends. He also called upon the lightning that strikes down at the ground into a crisp. Even the sound of thunder made anyone in the area go deaf.
“To the people that loved the Azure Dragon! I shall call upon the winds to destroy all of it!” Fujin shouted as he opened his air bag to the maximum and released ten tornadoes that destroyed everything in their paths.
The people of Azure City shouted in panic as lightning was killing people and tornadoes were sweeping others and killing them. The thing that made them panic the most is that the river suddenly rose in height as the heavy rain literally flooded the streets. The rain and wind that they often asked the Azure Dragon for their crops are now being used to kill all of them.
The screams of the people in the Azure City could not even be heard as only the thunderous drum beats of Raijin and the howling winds of Fujin could be caught by the ears. The people of the city could only save themselves now as their guardian deity was killed. All of them became desperate to escape the city with whatever means they have.
“We were not able to save them.” Peridot stated as she manifested through a pink mist.
Peridot could be seen at a far cliff where magical energy is incredibly volatile. It is the perfect place to hide from the powerful detection abilities of Raijin and Fujin. A place filled with dense mana that spins around chaotically is the perfect place to evade the eyes of gods that have descended to the world.
“At the very least, we managed to get the Azure Dragon Orb. It has a chance to revive just like in the legends.” Levin Cloud stated as he sprouted from the ground.
“We managed to find a lead to their next escapade, but we were already too late. They already killed the Azure Dragon.” Peridot stated with a sad tone.
The Azure Dragon might not have been the friendliest of the Four Cardinal Divine Beasts, but it was the most helpful to people. Only it could control the authority of wind and rain as they needed to seal Raijin and Fujin away. Also, the fact that it is also a dragon made Peridot’s heart feel for it as she is a dragon in a sense as well.
“We should have at least helped the citizens. They are now being killed by Raijin and Fujin in their petty revenge against the Azure Dragon.” Peridot stated.
“Some of them will die but most of them will live. We already alerted the Immortals, and they are here now.” Levin Cloud stated as numerous Immortals suddenly streamed the skies with their floating weapons and headed towards Azure City.
“Should we help?” Peridot asked as they could see that the Immortals are now fighting against Raijin and Fujin.
“Our most meaningful help would be to deliver that orb to your master.” Levin Cloud stated.
[The White Tiger of the West has been slain.]
A notification that involved all players of the eastern continent suddenly popped out. First it was just the death of the Azure Dragon of the East, but it is now about the White Tiger of the West. Both Peridot and Levin Cloud are shocked because the only information that they learned was that the Azure Dragon would be attacked today. They did not expect that there was another team on the other end that was deployed to kill the White Tiger of the West.
“What if the other divine beasts were also attacked!?” Peridot exclaimed in disbelief.
“From what Equinox told us; the Black Tortoise and the Vermillion Bird are the hardest to kill. Still, we must make a move and hurry to inform your master.” Levin Cloud stated as they used a teleportation scroll to vanish.
