Chapter 2569: State of the Eastern Continent

The Black City where the Black Tortoise of the North is residing could be seen safe as the people of Kami could not enter it as freely as they thought. The mysterious city where everything is shrouded in mist and fog became a death trap for those that wanted to kill the Black Tortoise of the North. The entrance to this very city is guarded by the Black Tortoise of the North which means exiting it also needs its authority.

The forces of Kami managed to infiltrate the city, but they could not exit it. As soon as they forcefully used a hidden entrance, they were met with a dense fog instead of a city. In this dense fog, the soldiers of Black City were all invisible to the forces of Kami. The forces of Kami died without even having known the faces of their killer.

The Black Tortoise of the North is monitoring everything that is happening in its special domain filled with ice and water. It is even using a crystal ice orb to check everything in real time. It has always been the cautious and mysterious type amongst all of the Four Cardinal Divine Beasts in the eastern continent. The Black Tortoise of the North has two abilities after all and its tail which is a snake head can get images of the future.

“So, the East and West have fallen.” The Black Tortoise of the North’s turtle head stated.

“That is to be expected as that old dragon is haughty while the arrogant tiger believes that strength is everything.” The snake head of the Black Tortoise of the North stated.

“As long as we and the Vermillion Bird does not fall then the ruin of the eastern continent will not come true. I am just afraid that this will be a pivoting point of those fallen gods that feigned ignorance before. They must think that usurping our divine seats will make them rise back to godhood, but they are wrong.” The turtle head of the Black Tortoise of the North stated.

“We have no choice but to sink the city or else more trouble will come to the future.” The snake head of the Black Tortoise of the North stated.

“It is settled then. We must seal ourselves for now.” The turtle head of the Black Tortoise of the North agreed as both of their eyes suddenly glowed in a frosty light, and the crystal ice orb glowed.

The city covered in mist and ice suddenly vanished from the world as it sunk into a special area in the lake where it stood. All of the people living there have already been notified and they all believe in the Black Tortoise of the North after all. Their guardian deity will not let any danger befall them.

Vermillion City is different as the Vermillion Bird of the South itself went to the front lines and burned all of the forces of Kami. The forces of Kami even went and got a special item that could counter the flames of the Vermillion Bird of the South, but they could not kill it. Even of they extinguish the flames of the Vermillion Bird of the South, the flames would light once again. The temple guards also dealt with the other enemy spies that sunk their teeth into Vermillion City.

The Heihudie Clan even participated by uprooting the spies of Kami themselves. Vermillion City is their base of operations after all, and they need to keep it safe. The Vermillion Bird of the South even did something incredible and miraculous. By sacrificing one of its hearts, the Vermillion Bird used a spell that burned the entire city.

The golden flames did not burn any believers of it though as even buildings are safe. Under the burning golden flames of the Vermillion Bird of the South, all beings that had ill will against it burned into cinders. All of the people that praised the Vermillion Bird of the South would get healed by the flames instead. With the sacrifice of one heart, the Vermillion Bird of the South managed to repel invaders of its city.

Vermillion City became safe, but the city itself became very strict in those that enter it. The Vermillion Bird of the South also entered a state of hibernation after the fact. Even if it has lots of flaming hearts, sacrificing one is like sacrificing a small sun. One of its hearts contains lots of energy that could destroy a city after all.

The Vermillion Bird of the South also learned that the Azure Dragon of the East and the White Tiger of the West were killed. The Vermillion Bird of the South was not worried though as it could still feel the divine essence of the two even though it was a weak pulse. The Vermillion Bird of the South also carried out a message towards its friend from faraway. The eastern continent needs his help as an organization filled with fallen gods are trying to destroy it.

“My friend, come to my aid for my people.” The Vermillion Bird of the South thought as it knew that this attack was just a first.

With the Vermillion Bird of the South going into slumber, the message was sent to none other than Adrian. The presence of the Heart of Flames from his body suddenly burned. Adrian was peacefully thinking of the items that he got from his recent expedition with the others when his chest suddenly burst into flames. His soulbounds panicked when they saw their master’s chest blazed in flames.

“I am fine. It seems that something is troubling the Vermillion Bird of the South. Maybe we should go and visit Vermillion City then. Also, we can meet with Levin Cloud and Peridot as we have not heard from them for a long time.” Adrian stated as the flames that erupted from his chest finally calmed down. He made sure to prepare before going as he believes that something major is happening in the eastern continent.
