Chapter 2667: Against the Corrupted Yellow Emperor II
The entire golden palace suddenly cracked as traces of heat scattered in the entire area. The floor itself looked like it was being melted until a powerful blast of heat came out of the ground. The enormous heat that was bottled up and exploded when cold air from above met it has created a cataclysmic explosion that destroyed the entirety of the Golden Palace.
The explosion cleared out the entire Golden Palace and even some of its surroundings. Numerous shards of molten rock flew in all direction which resulted in the casualties of the sand soldiers. Fortunately for the elite team that was brought there, they managed to protect themselves in time which meant that no one died. Still, there were some individuals that were injured due to the fact that some stray projectiles directly hit them.
Siegfried could be seen in the epicenter of the explosion with his molten lava armor gone from his body. His axe looked dull and needed repair while his armor looked like it was about to crack any time now. He is still relatively safe but his attack destroyed a large area and sacrificed the durability of his weapon and armor. His weapon and armor might be indestructible but they still have durability loss that can render them useless.
Siegfried thought that he might have killed the Corrupted Yellow Emperor along with his attack but the logs say otherwise. He wanted to move his body because he feared that he might become the next target of the enemy but his body will not listen to him. All of his muscles were strained to the utmost that he would get injured if he forcefully made it move. He has immense muscle fatigue but his health is still pretty much full.
Thinking that the Corrupted Yellow Emperor might be stunned or something because of the lost of its palace, Siegfried prayed that the enemy will not notice him. He was not even leaking any type of aura or mana because all of it was gone. All he has is his health but his stamina and mana are depleted.
Just as Siegfried thought that he would be safe, a figure wearing burnt robes could be seen suddenly appearing before him. The Corrupted Yellow Emperor could be seen to have lost his majesty and splendor as his regal black and gold clothes were singed beyond belief. Even the golden ornaments and embellishments on it were melted. The full aura of a Primordial Dragon God could be felt being exuded by the Corrupted Yellow Emperor.
Siegfried was not even touched as his entire body suddenly floated. A dark gold aura started to strangle his neck as the Corrupted Yellow Emperor used its own energy to kill Siegfried. The connection with the ley lines is now a mess because the Golden Palace was destroyed but that does not mean it has been disconnected. The Corrupted Yellow Emperor can still connect to the ley lines because the core of the Golden Palace was protected from the explosion.
The Corrupted Yellow Emperor did not even attempt to stop what Siegfried did earlier as it sensed the power of the attack. It opted to save what it could from the Golden Palace and that is the core which siphons energy from the ley lines. The throne of the Golden Palace could be seen floating in the air and being protected by a faint dark gold barrier. The Corrupted Yellow Emperor protected the very core of the palace in order to make sure that its own power will not be diminished.
The destruction of the Golden Palace does make it difficult for the Corrupted Yellow Emperor. The core might be in place but the actual functionality dropped by half. Now the Corrupted Yellow Emperor can only siphon 0.5% energy that all the ley lines in the eastern continent could give. The Corrupted Yellow Emperor had to give up on the sand soldiers that were far away as a result.
All the sand soldiers that were left to manage the conquered villages and towns all became dust. This made it easier for the Murim Alliance and Immortal Factions to reclaim their lost territories. In fact, even some unorthodox and demonic practitioners joined in on reclaiming the lost areas. Even the hold of the Corrupted Yellow Emperor against the people of the eastern continent has weakened.
“I will make sure to crush you right now! Even if I use every bit of my power to do so.” The Corrupted Yellow Emperor shouted in anger as its own divine energy suffocated Siegfried on the spot.
Siegfried’s large body could be seen slowly getting bent and crushed by the divine energy of the Corrupted Yellow Emperor. He screamed in pain as he could feel his muscles being pounded by an invisible force that he cannot even defend against. If his natural sturdiness was low then Siegfried would have already turned into meat paste by now. Luckily for him, he has an incredibly tough body that can tank even one hit of a meteor.
“Martial Divine Sage Art: Ever Flowing Waterfall!” Ain stated as he suddenly appeared behind the Corrupted Yellow Emperor.
A few seconds after the destruction of the Golden Palace, Adrian came out of the nether mist where he hid his body. This also meant that he took out Ain and Anastacia as well. The smoke made it difficult for them to be noticed which is why Adrian immediately scanned the area for any anomalies. It was then he found that Siegfried is now being crushed to death by the Corrupted Yellow Emperor.
Adrian would have taken action immediately but he sensed the deep energy of the Golden Palace Throne a few meters away. Seeing that this large source of energy might be linked to the Corrupted Yellow Emperor, Adrian sent Ain instead via teleportation. He teleported the small slime version of him containing Ain behind the Corrupted Yellow Emperor. This made it feasible for Ain to appear just in time to execute one of his powerful attacks.
Ain’s appearance shocked the Corrupted Yellow Emperor as he is the only being that could destroy its outer barriers. The focus on Siegfried suddenly shifted towards Ain as the danger he poses is far greater than the former. The Corrupted Yellow Emperor instantly changed his demeanor and transformed its arms into dragon arms. Ain did not panic because he already finished the preparations for the attack as he slammed his palm onto the ground.
If Siegfried could release intense heat from the ground, Ain made a powerful geyser appear in an instant. The water that sprung from the ground destroyed the barrier of the Corrupted Yellow Emperor once again and actually sent it flying in the air. Ain did not stop there as he gracefully maneuvered in the sky as if he was walking perfectly on the ground. If one could see clearly, Ain was stepping on droplets of water as a means to walk upwards.
“Martial Divine Sage Art: Flowing Stream!” Ain stated as his hands contained pure internal energy that slammed continuously against the body of the Corrupted Yellow Emperor.
While Ain was fighting against the Corrupted Yellow Emperor, the Slime Adrian picked up Siegfried and carried him towards the location of Anastacia. Seeing the battered-up body of Siegfried made Anastacia a bit concerned. Even if she healed him, the fatigue should make him unable to move for a while. She then looked towards Ain and could see that even he is struggling against the enemy even though he has the upper hand as of the moment.
A large bird made of nether energy suddenly manifested next to Anastacia. Saena came out of the nether mist and covered both Anastacia and Siegfried with her wings. She then used nether energy as her fuel to create flames that burned away fatigue and injury. This made it easier and faster for Siegfried to recover while Anastacia focused on fixing his broken bones.
“Thanks for the support.” Anastacia stated but Saena could not speak as she focused on healing both of them.
Ain’s attack earlier that created a geyser also made it rain in the area. It is more like a drizzle instead of actual rain but it helped him maneuver using his foot technique. Ain could utilize even the smallest of droplets as a platform but that does not mean that the Corrupted Yellow Emperor will idly stand by. The Corrupted Yellow Emperor released pulses of its own aura to try and destroy the water around them after it was thrashed by Ain.
The Corrupted Yellow Emperor almost caught Ain earlier using its immense divine energy but nether mist suddenly covered Ain to make him vanish. This happened several times to the point that even the Corrupted Yellow Emperor does not believe that this is coincidence. The one that makes it look like Nether mist is saving Ain is none other than Kenos. Kenos is hiding perfectly inside the nether mist as its body is now mostly made of it and is using portals made of it to save Ain from dangerous situations.
