Chapter 2780: Changes in the World

The changes in the world are apparent because more and more powerful monsters have sprung up. It is not just the humans, demigods, and gods that were affected as all of them monsters are also affected. The sudden increase in power made the danger zones even more deadly to the point that a group of twenty powerful beings can still die to one monster in them.

The changes also referred to the growth of the world as it started to increase in size once again. The sudden expansion of the world strained the Daemos once again but they were not as affected as before because it is small. Still, the increase in size of the world without the Twin Gods monitoring it has become an opportunity to the gods that schemed.

Numerous lesser gods have descended and terraformed some of the places in the world to become their sacred lands. This meant that the gods themselves have started to fight for territory in the main world. This is not limited to just rogue gods but even those that have factions. The only gods that did not claim a territory in the main world are the gods of life and death as they are not allowed to descend.

Some gods even descended into the danger zones and turned those into their sacred lands. Not all of the gods that descended were able to establish a sacred zone because some became prey for others. The newly ascended lesser gods need divine energy to stabilize their power in the main world or else they would only have the power of a demigod. The lesser gods that descended were perfect for the nourishment of these newly ascended gods.

The lesser gods that descended are those that ascended into godhood that are either solitary or did not belong to a faction. They were not tied to a faith which is why they will not perish or expend their divine energy even if they do not have any faith directed at them. This also meant that they will be forever stuck at the lesser god rank and be anonymous.

Due to the sudden evolution of the world, the lesser gods can now descend freely and revel in their might but they also know that they could be hunted down as well. The mortals have already managed to hunt down beings that rival a Greater God if they work together. The lesser gods know of this which is why the smart ones even joined factions. Some even went to royalty to become king as they can now create children with mortals because of the loose rules.

Still, a god having a child with a mortal is never easy and it is extremely rare to happen. Even the God King Zeus that is known for having defiled many maidens only have a handful of demigod children. Even if they look the same as humans sometimes, gods have true forms that are vastly different from what they are perceived as. Also, the mortal mothers that give birth to beings with godblood often die from labor as carrying a mighty being is not easy.

The arrival of gods shook the kingdoms and empires in the central continent as they are the ones that have not seen lesser gods with their eyes. Compared to the other continents, the central continent has indeed lagged behind when it comes to divine apparitions. All the other continents have been regularly talking and communicating with divine beings.

The eastern continent has the Four Cardinal Beasts that show up in their territories. The western continent has their god temples and kingdoms where they worship and service their gods. The northern continent does not have much gods but the increased activities of the Asgardians have raised their awareness. The southern continent has gods as leaders in territories there so there is no denying that the gods in other continents have already integrated in their respective societies.

The central continent lagged behind because faith in that continent is spread out and it also has the thickest part of the divine barrier. The central continents are the largest among all of the continents after all which is why it is the most protected. If a god or goddess can subdue the central continent then they can shoot up to the rank of a High God immediately. This is why a lot of dark gods and distorted gods wish to have the central continent in their hands.

The expansion of divine energy in the world also produced more ferocious weather compared to before. The world barrier also sustained life inside the world but everything is thrown into disarray now that it expanded abruptly. The sudden expansion of divine energy is not always good because monsters grow faster than humans or mortals. The number of villages and rural areas being decimated by monsters increased by 500%.

Some of the lesser gods even used the increased in power of monsters to gain followers. The fight between the gods of Asgard might have ended but it seems a longer and colder war is coming. This prompted all of the churches to extend their hands in more areas than before because now it is a battle of faith. The gods that descended knew that they must not make a ruckus as they might catch the ire of other gods.

The changes in the world made everyone anxious and excited as rewards would also increase. In fact, numerous players have already started to unlock their Third Job Class Advancement as the requirements became lower with more divine energy in the world. It was like the world itself was telling all of its beloved inhabitants to increase their power because they are not prepared for what is to come.

While all of this is happening, Adrian is currently in Limbo organizing the stuff that he got from accepting the request from the Flame Giant Surtr. The Flame Giant Surtr promised Adrian something like any divine part of the enemies that perish. Fortunately, the Flame Giant Surtr kept his promise even if he had died.

Adrian looked at the two items that he got as part of the promise. One of the goddesses of fate even delivered the item to him as compensation. He should be shown at least this much because he summoned the Flame Giant Ifrit into the world. He is now in a weakened state for a few days because of it. He cannot continue his evolution as well because he might destroy his body if he pushed it while in this state.

Effect:

-The effects are unknown but it exudes the power of all the Seven Deadly Sins.

Description: The Soul of Sin is the combined souls of all the Seven Deadly Sins. It is essentially the core soul of the Beast of Ogdoad. It exudes all the might and power of each of the deadly sin. Absorbing it is said to grant the user the power of the sins.

Item Name: Tiny Giant Flame

Item Tier: Divine

Item Type: Core / Material

Effect:

-A small little flame that burns brightly and gives warmth to those that see it.

-Setting it in a shrine and having people pray towards it will grant beings with the Warmth of the Tiny Giant.

Warth of the Tiny Giant: This buff gives 50% increased health regeneration and 50% resistance to cold weather.

Description: A small wisp of the deceased soul of the Flame Giant Surtr. Even if it gains lots of faith, it will never grow into a god or goddess. It can give small blessings to those that respect it as it is still a miniscule part of the Flame Giant Surtr’s divine spark.

Adrian did not think that he would get two divine items. He had other choices as one of the goddesses of fate gave him a catalog of items. The items in the catalog are none other than items that would have dropped from killing the gods of Asgard. He took the Soul of Sin because he wants to gain all of the passive skills of the Seven Deadly Sin. He did not know what will happen though if he gains all of the skills but all of them were great passive skills.

He also gained a final gift from the Flame Giant Surtr as he managed to give him the eternal rest that he wanted. He also delivered the Flame Giant Surtr to his final revenge which is why the flame giant entrusted a piece of its divine spark to the goddesses of fate to give to Adrian. He did not know this but Adrian is very touched that the Flame Giant Surtr rewarded him even though he accepted without gaining anything in return.

“I guess I will put up a shrine in one of the corners in the territory. A peaceful place where it could burn peacefully and give its blessing that are fated to meet it.” Adrian muttered.
