Chapter 2781: Charging towards Noblesse I

Adrian managed to return back from Limbo as he did not want to revive back on the spot. He needed to check if the Goddess of Death Hel was doing her job correctly and she was. Still, the rift being connected to Tartarus has sent all of the gods of death in high alert. The God of Death Abaddon is still in slumber and cannot take action which means it was now up to them to deal with it.

Adrian immediately told all of the gods of death to check their death realms if there was a crack. The Goddess of Death Hel told them that her father used a crack in her death realm to slip pass to another one. This should have been impossible for a god but the God of Mischief Loki was a god of trickery. Trickster Gods are rare and very difficult to contain as they have ways to bend the laws of nature and even death.

Since Adrian knew that the gods of death are now busy checking their realms, he finally revived himself. He wanted to check on the northern continent but the world suddenly changed overnight because of the death of a titan and the destruction of a divine realm. Divine energy now circulated in the world but that is not always a good thing.

Adrian knew that the circulation of divine energy meant that the strain in the world is also increasing. The pressure on him and Levin Cloud suddenly intensified as they need to perform the World Fusion. The timeline might have started to get squeezed even more which means they only have a few months left. If they did not stabilize the world then the dark gods and distorted gods might start to breach it.

“Levin Cloud already started to purify his soul which means he is starting to ascend as a Divine Leshy. If he ascends then his job class will also ascend as well. I guess being an envoy has perks after all the problems.” Adrian stated.

Adrian is a bit jealous of Levin Cloud because the last requirement for him to increase the power of his job class is to become a demigod level existence. The Divine Leshy is said to be the equivalent of a Noblesse in terms of persona. Unlike Adrian, he needs to become a demigod level existence and then clear the instance dungeon that will be needed to advance to his Third Job Class.

“No use crying over something that is out of my hands. I now know what I need to do in order to become a Noblesse.” Adrian stated as he got inspiration from his time in the Void.

Adrian knew that it was just bad luck for him to be sent to the Void by the God of Mischief Loki but it actually gave him a way to advance. The Daemos Elders already knew that Adrian is not like other demons that only harnessed the different sub elements of Origin Magic. Adrian housed numerous energies inside of him that should be impossible for an average demon but he is the Champion of the Twin Gods after all.

The Daemos Elders also told him that he is not the only demon that accepted other energies in their bodies. There have been some precedents before where demons actually accepted elemental energy in their bodies. These demons were called Apostles because they had the backing of a god or goddess. Divine energy is the baseline for demons to get other energies that is not of Origin Energy in their bodies.

Even if there were precedents, the demons that did so were only able to become Greater Demons but some did reach Arch Demons. These Arch Demons that took in elemental energy formed a group that betrayed the Daemos which led them to be cursed and stripped of their rights to control Origin Magic. Noblesse had the right to strip the power of wielding Origin Magic to demons as long as it is justified.

This special privilege of the Noblesse allows them to extract the Demon Core of a Daemos that has betrayed their race. It is also one of the reasons why some Daemos are afraid of Old Man Pann but the fear is probably due to his bad mouth and rough attitude. The power to strip one of their abilities is not privy to the Noblesse as other higher beings of the Asmodian Descendant races can do so as well.

“I am given a choice. I wanted everything to merge perfectly when I should just let it all break down.” Adrian stated as he entered his room in the guild house as he is now attempting to become a Noblesse.

Adrian then took out the Soul of Sin as he knows that the energies inside of his body is not enough. In order to do what he is currently thinking, he needed to make sure that something of sacrifice is needed. He will sacrifice the skill that will appear when he absorbs the Soul of Sin. A divine item will definitely give him at the very least a Mythical Tier skill related to the Seven Deadly Sin series.

“Thank you for the food!” Adrian stated as he opened his mouth and gulped the Soul of Sin.

As soon as Adrian ate the Soul of Sin, he suddenly felt that his body is hot then cold. He thought that this would just be a cycle but the temperature his body experienced in a few seconds would have killed a normal being. The Soul of Sin is being absorbed by his very soul which means the changes he is experiencing is due to his soul being attacked by the divine item he devoured.

Adrian persevered because he knows that his soul is stronger than other beings. In fact, the gods of death even told him that they are afraid of his soul for some reason. If the gods of death themselves are saying that Adrian’s soil is something to be feared then it means it can withstand the thrashing of a divine item with soul properties.

“Hungry!”

A voice deep inside of Adrian’s soul instantly stated which made him smile. This is the voracious being inside of Adrian’s soul that is a part of him. He might not want to admit it but this voracious being is likely the repressed emotions of his soul. The reason it is always hungry is due to the fact that it wants Adrian to become a Noblesse. This hungry being is in fact the real Noblesse Inner Demon.

The Noblesse Inner Demon that is speaking with Adrian before is just something like a guide. The sanity left by the real Noblesse Inner Demon that craves power and energy. Adrian did not know of this information as even the Daemos Elders did not tell him. All Noblesse Inner Demons have different qualities after all and each of them manifest in different ways.

Elder Ascalor’s Noblesse Inner Demon manifested as a demon with a compressed block. He said that his inner demon liked to put things in a box. Elder Koronn’s Noblesse Inner Demon is a manifestation of a clock that reverses. Elder Bronx’ Noblesse Inner Demon is a weak and thin demon that is one push away from dying.

Adrian asked them such personal questions but all of them answered without hiding anything. This meant that they fully trust him and he learned the secret of the Noblesse Inner Demon because of it. The Noblesse Inner Demon presented what you really lack or what you really want but ignore.

Elder Ascalor’s Noblesse Inner Demon is a demon with a compressed block because he always presented himself as a free spirit that would roam other dimensions for fun. During his youth, he disregarded his calling which led to some demons being heavily injured because of his free spirit. He became a Noblesse once he accepted that he needed to be compressed and be dutiful at times.

Elder Koronn’s inner demon is a demonic clock that runs in reverse. This meant that he wanted to go back to his past but he was too afraid to face it. When Adrian actually saved him from the time stream, Elder Koronn had finally reached the threshold and should have a breakthrough then but the world barrier prevented him from reaching Noblesse. Once he started to face his past and accept it, he immediately became a Noblesse.

Elder Bronx’ Noblesse inner demon is a weak demon that would die from just a touch. Elder Bronx presented himself as a strong being with muscles that can break diamonds. His Noblesse Inner Demon reminded him that he can also be fragile and weak. When he accepted that strength is not always the answer, he too became a Noblesse and ascended.

All of the Daemos Elders have different ideals and thoughts hence different inner demons. This is also evident for different people which is why the real test for an Arch Demon to become a Noblesse is to fully embrace their flaws.
