A wave of intense pain suddenly enveloped Adrian’s physical body but also his soul. The soul world inside of him started to form cracks and that all of it has started to crumble. All of Adrian’s soulbounds sensed the crisis that their master is currently experiencing but they cannot help him. Adrian also advised them not to help him because their souls could be destroyed since this is similar to ascension.

When Adrian asked the elders what they felt when they ascended to become a Noblesse, all of them diverted their eyes from him as if they did not want to relive the experience. Adrian already knew that this meant that the experience of becoming a Noblesse is not fun and would literally be incredibly painful along the way.

“Master! Your soul is currently on the verge of breakdown. Optimal success hinges on the fact that you sacrifice everything else.” Paradox reported.

“What else do I need to sacrifice?!” Adrian grunted as he felt the pain searing his soul and it was not a fun experience. It was like a hot metal plate is touching your very skin and it is not even burning you but the pain from the heat is very real.

“Everything, master. Including me.” Paradox stated which stunned Adrian that he actually heard a ringing in his ear.

“What do you mean? Even you?” Adrian stated as he did not expect that even Paradox would be sacrificed for this ascension.

“I am currently holding vast energy resources in my body from the items that I asked of you, master. I will be a sufficient nourishment for both your body and soul in order for you to ascend. I will be the catalyst for all of your energies to fuse without any worries.” Paradox replied.

“No! I will not let you.” Adrian replied as he already thinks Paradox as an important member of his virtual family even though its voice is very monotone.

“There is no other way, master. Please let me do this one thing for you.” Paradox replied as its voice suddenly started to sound a bit less monotone. It was like Paradox managed to develop some emotion.

“No! Please. Do not do this!” Adrian stated but Paradox actually did something an ego weapon never does.

Ego weapons are powerful weapons that have a consciousness. Since they have consciousness, ego weapons do not let anyone wield them. It is also the reason why you might be powerful but an ego weapon will not choose you if they do not like you. There is a secret for an ego weapon though and that is they are eternally loyal to the master that they choose.

The eternal loyalty is not a joke because an ego weapon also breaks if their owner dies. There are rare instances where ego weapons do not break when their owners die but they will regress to a not sentient weapon that needs to be awakened. This also means that ego weapons cannot go against their master once they have acknowledged someone.

The fact that Paradox is now disregarding Adrian’s commands even though he said no means that it has already prepared to sacrifice itself. The eternal loyalty of an ego weapon is a vow and vows are powerful things in Pandemonium. If a god vows to not harm people, then they will become mortal if they break this vow. Even gods are not exempt from the backlash of a vow because it is heavily tied to an invisible power stronger than fate.

“I shall become master’s protector. Never forget me.” Paradox stated as its soul essence in Adrian’s soul depths vanished and fused with his body.

[Energy is still not enough to fully ascend because of powerful energies being fused.]

Adrian suddenly felt all of the things that Paradox has done for him. The ego weapon even sorted out all of the harmful energy that came from Adrian. It seems that Paradox also filtered out the damaging parts of his nether energy and even his aether energy as well. He now knows why he could freely wield nether and aether energy without harming any living beings. They were not supposed to have the ability to wield nether and aether energy even if Adrian enchants them.

“Sacrifice every skill that I currently have that are not related to summoning. Ascend me to a higher being.” Adrian replied as he would not waste the chance that Paradox has given to him.

[You have sacrificed every skill that you have that are not related to summoning. Energy is still not enough for the full ascension. Do you wish to partially ascend?]

“Sacrifice every skill that is not related to my current job class.” Adrian stated as that would mean he can now only have skills that can summon his soulbound and also the Primordial Armaments.

[Approved. Energy is now sufficient for ascension.]

[Detected Chaos Pierrot skill that interfered with regular ascension.]

[The Netheros / Aetheros demon hybrid that is Equinox is now preparing for his Grand Ascension.]

The world message suddenly flooded all of the notification from the players. Even the gods heard the voice of the world speak about a True Noblesse Demon Lord. Old Man Pann and the Daemos Elders suddenly shuddered when they heard the world message because they know what a True Noblesse Demon Lord is. A being that even the Daemos only knows as legends because only the first founder is such a being.

“Everyone! High Alert! Do not let any gods or demigods interfere with the ascension!” Old Man Pann shouted as he reverted to his true form and summoned fearsome beasts that all ranked Divine.

The Three Daemos Elders also released a powerful combined spell that twists dimensions around Avalon to make sure that no one can get in or out of the territory. All teleportation circles are also stopped to make sure that no one is in. The Daemos Corps suddenly surrounded the middle island with great fervor and they even released their auras which they never did before.

The players and even ordinary citizens have read that demons have this oppressive aura that can stifle any other being but they found that absurd when they met the Daemos. The Daemos that they met were just like ordinary mortals but with different looks. This is only true if they are friendly to you or not in the heightened battle mode. Even the Daemos do not like spreading their auras because it depletes lots of their stamina but it does boost their abilities by 50%.

The sudden oppressive aura explosion from the Daemos Corps finally showed the world that the stories of the Daemos are true. Thankfully, the auras only encompassed the central island and it did not leak from there. If any normal mortal gets affected by this aura, then they might faint or suffer a heart attack as a worse case.

The Daemos Corps did not know why the elders suddenly announced high alert in the central island as there was nothing going on. All of the Daemos Corps members are greater demons that are about to become Arch Demons hence they cannot sense it. Only Arch Demons and above can sense the fluctuation of energy from Adrian’s body even though it is in another dimension.

“One cannot ascend in a pocket dimension. The brat will be expelled by the pocket dimension as the Trial of Ascension needs to happen in the main world.” Elder Ascalor stated as it exactly happened as what he said.

Adrian is spat out by the pocket dimension which is his guild house. It was like the guild house did not want any part of the dangerous thing that will happen to him. As if it was a being that is alive and is shedding a part of it that can infect it with a virus or something. If Adrian was conscious then he would have scolded this pocket dimension as he was the one that created it and it dared to hand him off.

“The boy is asleep.” Elder Koronn stated as if it was a normal thing but it is not.

“We cannot interfere with it. How will he defend against the cleansing?” Elder Bronx stated in a confused manner.

“We cannot. If the brat is asleep, something must have happened that we know of. We do not even know what kind of cleansing a True Noblesse Demon Lord will have.” Elder Ascalor stated but it was clear that he is anxious and afraid that Adrian might get extinguished.

The World Cleansing is a trial given by the world to test if one can have the aptitude and power to resist its will. Basically, ascending to a demigod state is just having less restraints of the world’s laws against you. Still, the price of failure is the destruction of one’s body and soul.
