Adrian could not speak anymore when the stare of impending doom has been set upon him. He already knows that stare from his real mother and now Telos’ virtual mother is also doing this stare at him. He knows that he would become a goner if he speaks anymore about ditching school. If he misspoke, a demon more frightening than the Asmodian Daemos will appear.

“I hope I can make new friends there.” Adrian stated which made the stare of doom soften.

“Do not worry about that. The caretaker of the school is none other than the Gods of Life that are good with numbers. They will teach you about the world than I ever could. I know that you are smart and sometimes too smart for your own good but learning could bring you wonders.” Iremia stated as she suddenly had a bit of a sad face.

Adrian knows why Iremia is a bit downhearted when looking at Telos or at himself. The Telos that Adrian is now could be said to be quite a dud or a failed hybrid. Telos has large mana reserves which are characteristics of an Asmodian but he cannot use the mana in his body properly. Adrian also tried using even the simplest spell called Mana Bullet but nothing comes out.

Telos’ body cannot release mana normally and can only use his mana to slightly strengthen his body. Adrian even tried to use full power Body Strengthening and he coughed up blood. A body that cannot handle mana properly or the correct way is not something good in a world where gods, divine beasts, primordial beasts, and dangerous monsters roam freely.

“I cannot see the status screen as well which means that in this time… the status screens are not even available. Do gods even manage those status screens?” Adrian mumbled as he is now being dropped off at the school.

The school that Adrian is now attending is much like an open classroom. Numerous children could be seen attending the class and each of them are from other races or species. It seems that this class is not just attended by those with Asmodian blood. He could even see elves, dwarves, gnomes, and others. This classroom is like the state where Avalon is now as all races are accepted without any prejudice.

The parents of some children did look at Iremia and Telos but they mostly kept those whispers to themselves. The children do not look like they have any problem with Adrian or at least most of them do not have. The children of some of the Asmodians are all looking at Adrian as if he is not like them or not at their level. It seems that some of he Asmodian kids have been told by their parents to avoid him.

“I do not really care though. I am just here to play the game and make sure that I do not die.” Adrian thought as he then directed his eyes to the teacher that is now teaching them.

“Good day. I shall be your teacher for the rest of the school days that you are attending. I am the Goddess Athena. I hope that all of you are as eager to listen to the things that I am about to teach you.” The Goddess Athena stated as she looked like an uptight teacher that is calculative and only wants to have students that achieve high scores.

The Goddess Athena does have some resemblance to the Goddess of Life Gaea as they are related after all. She also has chestnut colored hair that freely flows and have some natural curls. She is dressed in a scholarly white robe with a tunic as an upper armor. She has golden armbands that has the runes engraved in them. She really does give off the vibe of being the Goddess of Wisdom and Battle Strategy.

“Wow! My teacher is the goddess of wisdom and battle strategy. I am like one of those children from super elite families that send their children to an elite private school. I never really experienced this even in the real world as my parents sent me to public school.

Given that the public school is a bit on the higher end since it is a Technology Public school, this class gives the vibes of elite private school. There are already snobs (the ones that looked down on Telos) even if it is only the first day of class.” Adrian thought to himself as he is then called by the Goddess Athena.

“Telos? Did you hear me? Introduce yourself to the class.” The Goddess Athena stated.

“My name is Telos. My father is one of the Elders from the Asmodian Daemos Race. I like talking to creatures as they also like me. I also love to eat Honey Cakes.” Adrian stated as this is basically what was given to him as a script.

“Thank you, Telos. You may go back in your seat. Next.” The Goddess Athena stated as she then pointed to the next one that is seated beside him.

Adrian’s introduction as Telos might seem normal but if you read between the lines then you will immediately see what his talents are. Telos has a talent that he never said before to anyone else and that is the ability to understand speech of creatures and monsters. One would think that he is weird talking to creatures but the Goddess Athena immediately picked up on what Adrian said.

The Goddess Athena was actually shocked when she heard what Adrian said. The ability to talk to creatures is something in the realm of the gods. Even those close to nature like the Faekin can only command creatures and impose on them. When Adrian said that he could talk to them, the meaning is literally having a full-on conversation with them. He learned this when two birds suddenly started to have a verbal fight on his window.

To the normal observer, one could only hear the chirps of the birds and one would assume that they are communicating sweetly to each other. If they could actually hear what they say, the two birds were actually cursing each other out and even brough their fight on Adrian’s window. He had no choice but to throw his pillow which got sent out in the house and him along as he was punished.

The Goddess Athena immediately took note of Telos because the only one that she knows that has the ability to fully communicate to creatures is her grandmother, the Mother of the Gods Rhea. It is not just the Goddess Athena that Adrian got the attention of as others also started taking interest in him. One of which is the seatmate next to him which is an Asmodian Diabolon kid that is on the chubby side.

“Do you really love honey cakes?” The chubby Diabolon kid that is one head taller than the current Adrian stated.

“Why would I lie? My mother said that lying is bad and also her honey cakes are the best.” Adrian replied honestly and it is actually true.

Adrian always thought that food in-game is not that important but he does enjoy some from time to time. He also got a taste of good food when Gourmet has joined the guild. Still, the deliciousness of the Honey Cake that Iremia baked was something that even Gourmet cannot do. He even made a mental note of all the ingredients and saved it as a present for Gourmet. He will give it as a present but he really just wants to taste it again after this quest.

“Wow! I love honey cakes as well! We should be best friends. I am Boulder.” Boulder stated as he reached out his palm towards Adrian.

“Sure! I am Telos.” Adrian stated as he placed his hand on top of Boulder’s palm.

“Okay. Now that everyone has finished introducing themselves, I will now move on to teaching.” The Goddess Athena stated.

“She is already teaching at the first day. I guess there will be no snack break for now.” Boulder stated.

“I thought we would just play on our first day after the introduction.” Adrian stated which made the Goddess Athena glare at him but he averted his gaze towards the scenery next to him.

“As I was saying, I will now discuss to you the origins of mana. Tell me, what is mana?” The Goddess Athena stated as her eyes scanned the room.

“Telos, can you tell me what is mana?” The Goddess Athena added.

“Why me? Did I offend her with what I said?” Adrian thought internally but he just answered.

“Mana is the energy of life.” Adrian answered in the most common of terms.

“Oh! It seems that you have knowledge and not just snarky comments. You are correct that mana is the energy of life but do you know where it comes from?” The Goddess Athena asked as she looked around if anyone knew but there was no one.

“Mana is essentially divine energy broken down.” The Goddess Athena stated which made Adrian’s attention focus on her.
