[Chapter Size: 2000 Words.]
Third Person POV
Moon.
…
…
Everyone turned their eyes to the sky, more specifically Skypiea, as Luffy had scheduled the same type of meeting when Skypiea was originally above Alabasta’s position, whenever an important matter was truly being discussed among them.
Soon, they all came—Luffy, Yamato, Zoro, Kuina, Shirahoshi, Usopp, Chopper, Lami, Reiju, Nami, Nojiko, Alvida, Vivi, Robin, Hachi, Baby-5, Chouchou, Bepo, Enel, Hugo, Jimbei, Lucy, Domino, Monet, Perona, Rebecca and Bonney, Franky, Brook, Uta, Pedro, and Carrot.
Everyone gathered around Luffy as he waited for them all to settle in for the meeting, many greeting him, after all, it had been weeks since he had seen some of them, as Luffy had to handle all the issues of his territory, including many internal and external matters with every type of problem he could imagine. On top of that, he also had to take care of his arriving relatives.
“I’m happy to gather with you all again… you know, things were getting quite hectic lately. Anyway, it’s finally time for us to move.”
Luffy spoke, while many nodded, others kept neutral expressions already expecting this, and some were surprised or even nervous.
This was his crew—made up of petty, cowardly members to indifferent bullies and assassins—as long as he had control over everyone, everything would be fine. These were the members who were part of the Black Pearl and those who were finding the One Piece.
“We’re finally going to Egghead, then?!”
The one who shouted was Bonney, almost like a demand, just as Luffy had promised something very important to her when they met in Sabaody.
“Yes… Vegapunk is about to announce to the world a truth that will throw everything into chaos. We need to be there to protect him as soon as the government sends forces to destroy him.”
Luffy explained.
“Great!”
Bonney said, quickly celebrating.
“So we’ll be heading toward the One Piece… Luffy?”
Vivi asked.
“I don’t know what we’ll find beyond Elbaf, but yes, we’re heading straight for the One Piece now. The countries are protected here against the government, even powerful weapons won’t be easy to bring here. Besides, if anything unexpected happens, I can return faster than anyone else in this world—Kizaru himself couldn’t beat me, I already defeated him before the training, for the record.”
Luffy said.
“That sounds interesting… So this will be our final journey toward our goal, then…”
Shirahoshi commented, sounding excited.
“I hope to find Mihawk… maybe we should finally test who’s the greatest swordsman in the world.”
Zoro said with an eager smile.
Kuina looked at him and nodded, also wanting to prove her skill.
“But this won’t be a stroll at sea, even if we are the most powerful pirates in the world… right, captain?”
Hugo asked in a serious tone.
“Wait, you think we’re going to have trouble?”
Usopp couldn’t help but ask with some concern.
“Obviously, Usopp. We’re the most powerful pirates in the world, but as soon as we leave our territory alone, we’ll have a target on our backs like a lighthouse in the dark. Everyone will see it as a chance to finally harm us. So yes, Hugo, it won’t be a stroll at sea.”
Luffy said.
But he wasn’t finished yet.
“It’s very likely we’ll face the greatest challenge we’ve encountered so far on the seas, until we reach the One Piece.”
Luffy said.
“Greatest challenge? After we fought two Yonkou and the government, Luffy?”
Nojiko was the one who asked.
“We defeated two Yonkou, but there are still two left at sea.”
Luffy said calmly.
“We’re going to fight Shanks, brother?!”
Lucy looked surprised while touching her hat at that moment.
“Yes… actually, Shanks knows where the One Piece is.”
Luffy said, believing in this theory.
“The red-haired one knew all this time?! Why didn’t he take it for himself?”
Lami asked, surprised.
“I don’t know, maybe he already did. I still don’t know what Shanks’s relationship with the One Piece is, but I know there’s a lot to it.”
Luffy said with a thoughtful tone.
Shanks had an entire crew made up of people without Devil Fruits, while it seemed that the only ones who didn’t go see the One Piece were those who had fruits and got sick.
The One Piece seemed to have something that affected the Devil Fruit users among Roger’s crew, and Shanks stayed behind to be with Buggy.
Not that he was entirely sure of this, but it was a very logical theory.
Luffy really wanted to know what Shanks’s goals were, and ever since he took the Nika fruit—clearly knowing what it meant—after all, he wouldn’t have chosen to attack the government to take it and bring it to the island where the biological son of Gol D. Roger was.
Shanks had been planning something from the very beginning, maybe something his captain, the former Pirate King, told him at some point. But Luffy would find out at the end of this journey.
The place fell silent for a moment. No one knew what to say, as they all reflected on what had just been discussed.
“The government won’t stay still either.”
Bepo said with concern.
“Yes, and the navy.”
Monet added.
“We’ll have to face each one of them.”
Yamato said with a more serious look.
“Whitebeard has two Devil Fruits and tried to attack us at the end of our war. He wants to steal our fruits, and maybe he’s the most problematic of all the Yonkou. Besides, we’ll have to go directly to _____, we’ll need to crush them to get a piece of the red poneglyph.”
Luffy continued.
“You know where the last poneglyph might be, Luffy?”
Robin asked as Luffy shook his head.
“We’ll have to search for it after Elbaf.”
Luffy said.
“Don’t forget about the Cross Guild, led by former Shichibukai.”
Jimbei commented.
“They’re perfect, after all, I’ll be facing Mihawk.”
Zoro said with satisfaction.
The Cross Guild was making a bit of noise, as they began placing bounties on the navy, forming an organization that encouraged pirates, outlaws, and even bounty hunters to go after marines. Even Luffy’s grandfather and Coby were involved.
“Two Yonkou—Shanks and Blackbeard, the government with all its power still intact, including the Gorosei and the weapon they used to try and destroy Lulusia.
The Cross Guild, who, even though we’re not enemies, our best swordsmen are confident in going after the title of world’s greatest swordsman against Mihawk.
But we still have even more hidden forces, we’ll face challenges in Egghead and Elbaf, and then whatever comes after those two islands until we reach the final island.”
Luffy said.
“The All Blue is there, so I don’t mind facing all these challenges.”
Reiju said with her arms crossed. She looked tough, even while pregnant.
“Do we have a choice anyway?”
The ghost girl couldn’t help but comment as she floated around the place.
Luffy smiled at Perona.
“Let’s keep going, no matter the challenge. I’ve been at sea searching for Gol D. Roger’s treasure ever since I left that island in East Blue. We’re going to claim it once and for all and turn the world completely upside down.”
He declared to everyone surrounding him at that moment.
“Yohohohoho! Very well, Mr. Luffy!”
Brook exclaimed.
“Wolf! Wolf!”
Chouchou barked.
“Super motivation!”
Franky exclaimed, crossing his arms.
“That’s it!”
Carrot, though not very familiar with the group, exclaimed cheerfully.
“Let’s go for more adventures!”
Chopper shouted.
“I will go wherever my husband goes.”
Alvida said in her arrogant and passionate tone.
“Nee… To the last island!”
Hachi also said, getting excited.
“The master needs care from this maid.”
Baby-5 said, referring to herself in the third person.
“To the Pirate King’s treasure!”
Lucy exclaimed, equally excited for the adventure.
“…”
Enel, Domino, Rebecca, and Pedro remained silent while everyone else seemed to grow more and more excited about their journey.
“Luffy, and what about the animals that were with us before?”
Uta asked.
“They’re coming too. Megalo, Karoo, and Laboon will be with us.”
Luffy affirmed as Shirahoshi and Vivi nodded, and Brook looked extremely happy to have Laboon with them.
“Wait, Luffy!”
Nami called out to him.
“If you can travel anywhere in the world at high speed… couldn’t you just go to the final island?”
She asked, as everyone fell silent.
No one had thought of that before, and all eyes turned to Luffy as he gave a wide smile.
“I don’t intend to do that even though I can.”
Luffy replied.
“After all, I don’t know how to get to the island, and it shouldn’t be something that simple when it takes a riddle to find its location.
Anyway, the main reason is that I don’t intend to do this alone.”
He paused, looking at each one of them.
“From the beginning, when I started gathering you all, whether by teleporting you to me or even resurrecting you from the dead, and along the journey where I recruited the others—I intended to finish our adventure together, not alone.
What kind of captain would I be if I went to find the last island alone right now?”
He declared.
“Even if it’s easier, I refuse to leave you behind. We’ll do this together, face all our enemies as we find them.
We won’t be the crew that finds the One Piece by taking the easy way, as I told you back in East Blue.
We’ll find it through the adventure we’re going to have—and we’ll finish it together.”
Luffy said, as their eyes filled with emotion, some immediately bursting into tears.
“Luffy!”
Bepo, Chopper, Usopp, Nami, Uta, Rebecca, Bonney, Vivi, Hachi, and Yamato cried out with tears in their eyes upon hearing that.
Meanwhile, others smiled, satisfied with their captain’s declaration.
They were finally going to seek the One Piece.
“How much time before we depart?”
Jimbei asked, knowing some had responsibilities to take care of.
“Three days. Do what you have to during these days—we’ll be setting off then and won’t return until the world is told that the One Piece has been found.”
Luffy said as everyone nodded.
“It will be done. I’ll go tell Laboon the news.”
Brook said, crying.
“I’ll leave our son with my father and call Karoo.”
Vivi said.
“Leave them with the Mini-Hancocks, they’ll take care of the children while we’re away.”
Luffy said.
“I think you’re right… my father would like to teach Sinbad the duty of being the king of Alabasta, but he’s far too young for that.”
Vivi commented, and Luffy remained silent, clearly wanting to disagree if Vivi reconsidered—who teaches a child how to be a king? Luffy’s father-in-law clearly wasn’t all there.
“Anyway, you’re all dismissed. Prepare everything you need—we’ll be departing soon.”
Luffy said and turned back to Robin.
“Robin, would you come with me to Wano? I’d like to talk about a few things.”
He said in a serious tone.
“Alright…”
Robin replied with a curious look, wondering what Luffy wanted to talk about in private.
“I’ll call on some of you later. I need to check something that only you have in particular.”
He said, though no one really knew what Luffy meant, they simply nodded.
Soon, everyone began to leave the place, flying off in different directions as they descended from Skypiea, leaving only Robin and Luffy behind as she approached him.
Luffy grabbed her by the waist and smiled, while she looked at him with suspicion.
“You called me to make love? You seemed to have something else in mind…”
She commented.
“I do, but I like having my wife in my arms. It’s been a few days.”
He said, referring to not having slept with Robin for some time, being busy while she had been playing the role of mother and exploring islands in search of ancient things.
“You’ve been so busy lately, and it seems like you have lovers all around you.”
She said with a little laugh.
“That’s why I’ve been missing you. Anyway, let’s continue this tonight—how about it?”
He said with a mischievous smile.
“Alright… Fufufu. So it seems you have something for me?”
She asked.
“Yeah… Let’s check out some Poneglyphs in Wano first.”
Luffy said as she nodded, and the two of them were the last to leave Skypiea, heading toward Wano.
