One Piece – I Am A Different Luffy! - Chapter 531 – Dealing with York.

Luffy and the others, along with Vegapunk and Shaka, went to the Black Pearl, while the rest of the crew stayed on the ship. Luffy sent a message through the den den mushi directly to the crew members who were in the city, letting them know they would be somewhere else.

The ship began flying toward the city’s edge before ascending, since it couldn’t go through the clouds.

They moved up to the top part of the island, filled with clouds that created solid ground by placing earth over them, something identical to Skypiea, which Vegapunk himself developed using knowledge from the records about the sky island.

When Vegapunk approached the shield, it was already being deactivated, as the ship entered where the main area of his laboratories and the central computer with the Mother Flame were located.

They landed at the entrance, while next to them there was a giant robot walking toward another area of that section. This quickly drew the attention of many members, their eyes sparkling with stars at the sight of the robot.

“What is that? It’s so big!” Chopper shouted.

“So wonderful!” Franky exclaimed.

“That is the Vegaforce-01,” Vegapunk began to explain.

They kept staring at the approaching robot as the ship began to descend under Bepo’s command, stopping at the laboratory entrance. Three other satellites were approaching from the main entrance, while the robot stopped and bent its knees in front of the ship.

Its belly began to open at that moment, revealing a person. It was a woman — or rather, another satellite of Vegapunk.

“Hello, Dr. Vegapunk!” she exclaimed, jumping from the robot’s belly, which was already close to the ship, and landing on the deck of the Black Pearl.

“Hello, Lilith.” Vegapunk greeted his evil-personality extension.

“Hm?! Wait, so you’re pirates? Well, hand over all your gold! Otherwise, I’ll destroy all of you with the Vegaforce-01!” she exclaimed, pointing at the Dawn Pirates.

“She’s funny!” Lucy exclaimed, laughing.

“Calm down, Lilith!” Shaka intervened. “They’re guests of Vegapunk, treat them well.”

“Really, Doctor?” Lilith asked.

“Yes! They’re friends, with many ideas that will help me even more in my research,” Vegapunk exclaimed.

Three other satellites finally approached the ship, looking curiously and analyzing the visitors with interest.

“Hey, where’s Luffy?” Vivi murmured, sensing the absence of the captain, who wasn’t anywhere nearby — which was usually unusual, since he always made some comment and stood out at these moments, but he had simply vanished. And even though she wasn’t proficient in observation haki, she still had some mastery over a certain area and couldn’t sense him.

“Maybe he went to the bathroom,” Bepo commented.

“What’s all that noise?” Suddenly, someone came out from inside the ship.

A blonde woman looked at them with a hostile tone, seemingly searching for someone among them too. Vegapunk turned around, seeing someone he hadn’t noticed before. His eyes immediately widened, and his face began to sweat.

“You… you’re…” he pointed at the woman, in shock. Leaving the two satellites who were also on the ship stunned by her appearance.

“Long time no see, Vegapunk. Can someone tell me where that inferior being is?” she asked with a tone as if she wanted to kill Luffy.

“She is… that holy knight! One of the seven most powerful!” Vegapunk exclaimed, immediately terrified by the fact that someone from the government was there on the Straw Hat ship.

“That woman was captured by the captain. She’s under his supervision, just don’t ask me why he’s keeping that trash,” Hugo said in a bored tone, while Vegapunk was still trying to process it.

“You… you’re not going to kill me?” Vegapunk still murmured, thinking she could only be there for him.

“As much as I want to, I won’t do it. But I want to know where that damn inferior being you call captain is… that bastard, that… miserable, wretched, idiot, and scoundrel!!”

She began insulting Luffy with various names, while everyone stood there a bit surprised by her behavior. She certainly seemed to hate him.

“She’s funny too! Hey, tell me your name, let’s be friends!” Lucy simply walked up to her, laughing at how she was insulting Luffy.

“The captain just went into the base,” Zoro replied, arms crossed as he yawned.

“What?! Luffy went in there?” Vegapunk exclaimed, stunned and frightened, thinking he would do the same thing Lucy did on the lower island. “He’s going to end up touching something he shouldn’t!”

Meanwhile, someone was spying from one of the windows. She looked at the ship stopped at the entrance with interest before opening a sly smile and quickly turning to the wall beside the window, beginning to grab a den den mushi.

“Quick, I have to warn them,” York, unsurprisingly, was already gathering information to alert the government about Luffy’s arrival on the island and how Vegapunk was trying to hide their presence. She had only just found out.

She hadn’t noticed anything — not until they finally landed in front of the lab. Which wasn’t a surprise, after all, none of Vegapunk’s satellites really knew until they saw the pirate ship.

She started dialing, smiling as if everything was going perfectly in her plan. She would gain even more if she captured Monkey D. Luffy, the feared pirate who holds the title… of the most powerful pirate in the world.

Thinking she had a great chance since she and everyone there had built many weapons to capture powerful men, and sometimes, greed speaks louder than reason, which is why she thought she could catch those pirates too.

She was fantasizing so much about her triumph that she didn’t even notice someone beside her. It was only when she dialed the last number that she realized, freezing in place.

Slowly, she began to turn her face, staring at who had been beside her the entire time without her noticing. She found Monkey D. Luffy there, arms crossed, looking straight ahead, before simply turning his neck and looking at her with calm eyes.

“So, you’re York,” Luffy commented, as York’s eyes began to widen.

“You’re the greedy part of Vegapunk. You seem pretty rushed to make a call. Who are you calling?” he asked, as if curious, while the satellite still stood there, frozen.

“I… I was calling a friend,” she murmured, averting her gaze.

“Has Vegapunk ever told you that you’re a bad liar?” Luffy asked, still looking at her.

She stayed silent for a while, not knowing what to say. Seeing no way out, she quickly moved her finger to dial the last number and make the call — obviously to the Navy or the Government.

Luffy just watched without moving as her finger approached the button. But before it could get close to the den den mushi, it vanished from York’s hand like magic.

She had only struck the air with it.

“So this is a den den mushi direct to the government. Well… interesting. I’ll keep this, it could be quite useful,” Luffy said, holding the device.

“Give it to me!” York immediately tried to grab it back, stretching her huge arm toward Luffy, but he just raised his and stopped her.

“I don’t think so,” Luffy said and looked directly at her, while his eyes gleamed.

The next moment, everything around York seemed to change. Luffy had vanished, and the entire environment turned pitch black.

She took a step back, asking what Luffy had done to her.

It was at that moment that flames began to emerge from the darkness, slowly illuminating the space, but revealing nothing beyond the flames themselves. They burned in a purple hue and exploded in all directions.

Meanwhile, a small sound began to rise from the darkness, quickly becoming a roar with a breath.

She looked ahead, from where she could hear it, feeling there was something there. She couldn’t distinguish what that thing was, until red eyes appeared and a colossal creature stood before her.

She knew what that creature was. After all, she had seen it in the newspapers many times — it was the final transformation of Monkey D. Luffy with his mythical fruit. Ifrit.

The entity stared at her as if it were about to devour her.

She sweated more than ever before, and when she saw the creature move forward, its jaws opening, Ifrit simply opened its mouth and roared powerfully, releasing the flames.

York was caught the next moment.

When everything returned to normal, Luffy was beside her still holding her arm, releasing his Conqueror’s Haki, with red lightning surrounding him.

“AHHHH!!!”, she screamed, until her eyes turned white, foam came from her mouth, and she collapsed unconscious the next moment.

Luffy paused for a moment, wondering if he had overdone it, but shrugged. He activated his fruit at 200x speed and disappeared the next moment.

York reappeared, completely bound in chains that restricted all her movement. She had been shrunk and was being carried out of the room by Luffy.

He exited through the front door of the laboratory.

“Luffy!”, Lucy exclaimed to him as soon as he came out the entrance.

“Please, tell me you didn’t break anything in my lab!”, Vegapunk exclaimed, running to him in despair.

“Don’t worry about that. I just went to retrieve your greed,” Luffy murmured before tossing York, miniaturized. She expanded in the air, hitting the ground completely tied up.

“Take her to the prison,” he said, while the other satellites were stunned by the scene.

“Wait…”, Vegapunk tried to argue.

“No. If you really want to do this right, you have to limit her by imprisoning her. You don’t need to kill her, but we must still restrict her actions,” Luffy said seriously to Vegapunk, who ended up nodding.

York was placed alongside the CP0 agents, and Vegapunk invited everyone to come inside.

That’s when, in a flash of yellow among all those gathered at the lab entrance, a sword rushed through the middle of them. Luffy simply moved his body to the side, as the sword passed by him filled with Haki lightning, launched by the Holy Knight herself, who had attempted to strike him in the middle of the group while everyone looked on, stunned.

She quickly moved to strike again, aiming for Luffy’s face, while many around were terrified, and others didn’t seem to care.

Luffy simply placed his finger between his face and the sword. It struck directly, both using Haki. A metallic sound rang out from the sword clashing against his finger.

“You missed. You’ll have to keep trying tomorrow,” Luffy said, while the woman looked at him frustrated and simply began to sheath her medieval sword.

“What was that?”, Robin murmured, still not understanding the connection between Luffy and that Tenryuubito he had simply brought onto the ship…

“We have a deal. But that doesn’t matter now. Vegapunk, why don’t you show us your lab? Many of us who are scientists, engineers, and doctors are very curious to see your inventions,” Luffy said.

After all, Franky, Robin, Lami, Chopper, Usopp, and Baby-5 were all interested in his creations.

Vegapunk was also about to talk about the Void Century and other things that would be quite interesting… before they waged their little war on the island against the Navy and the Government.
