Luffy flew like a bullet in the opposite direction, quickly crashing against buildings, destroying them all without any resistance to stop him.

“Damn…” Luffy muttered, still being pushed back by the force of the impact, as he saw something coming toward him.

The angel possessed by Imu appeared above him, raising her hand with the sword itself to strike him. She shot directly at Luffy, and the entire area, over 100 square meters, was destroyed in that moment.

And not only was that area affected, but the whole island was shaken, the ground simply began to crack entirely and tremble, creating fractures everywhere, even among the battlefields.

Imu landed on the ground with only her foot touching it, all the dust vanished, leaving only the destroyed area, while all eyes turned directly to her, surprised by this power.

She kept her gaze at the center of the destruction with a look of boredom. It was at that moment that the ground broke open, and Luffy appeared there, walking toward her with calm steps after returning to the surface.

He smiled with blood dripping from his forehead.

“Damn… I started this badly,” Luffy said, as if it were a joke.

Imu looked at him with an indifferent gaze, while Luffy kept his sword raised, with haki lightning beginning to spark from it, smiling at the woman, who didn’t even seem to take a fighting stance against him and merely kept her sword low.

In the next moment, Luffy advanced toward her, clashing his medieval sword against her katana, as she raised it instantly to defend against Luffy’s attack, as if it were nothing, to parry his strike. He tried to push through, but their blows clashed with Luffy already losing the advantage.

His akuma no mi was activated for strength, and Luffy began to increase his power fiftyfold in that moment, this being the limit of his fleet’s power when awakened to enhance the strength and ability of other crew members. Luffy had the ability to multiply anything within the fruit’s abilities by fifty times or divide that number.

In the next moment, Imu was quite surprised by Luffy’s increase in strength, as she suddenly felt her body being thrown back, with Luffy pushing her so hard that she vanished. In the following instant, she exploded against the buildings, doing the same thing Luffy had done before.

“That was for the last hit,” Luffy laughed before feeling something that even his haki had trouble tracking.

While the explosion continued, suddenly, she was already in front of him, moving her sword upward and advancing toward his forehead. Time seemed to have stopped as she moved slowly until she got close enough to touch Luffy’s forehead.

Before the sword could cut him, he stopped it, moving at the last moment and increasing his speed fiftyfold, as there was no way he could match that woman’s speed currently with just his basic physical abilities.

At the same time, he began to lose ground, being dragged back since he had lost the strength from before. In the next moment, he simply flew like a bullet again toward the ground, escaping the next strike, as she tried to slash him once more.

He managed to appear in midair before looking down, with her simply pointing her sword. It emitted yellow glows using Saint Venus’ akuma no mi, before launching an air slash at him.

Luffy just dodged the attack, moving away as they both ascended to the upper part of the island.

Luffy was surprised by this — and concerned — as the rays of holy light struck the clouds rapidly, triggering explosions. Vegapunk’s lab was under attack, as the lights pierced the clouds and passed through to the other side.

Vegapunk and the satellites panicked as they watched the facility being blown apart, the divine explosions rising into the sky, completely surpassing the clouds, the laboratory, and anything else in their path.

“I’m going to have to balance things more in this fight,” Luffy decided, as he increased his strength and speed, splitting them to 25 times each.

He saw she was preparing another attack, so Luffy quickly entered phase 2, increasing his power even more, realizing that monster wasn’t going to hold back at all.

With a deafening sound in the air, he shot forward in the next instant, arriving before she could initiate another attack, exploding the entire ground with purple flames that spread everywhere, while Luffy leapt away injured, cracking the ground for several meters before stopping to face Imu.

He felt a cut across his chest. Even with his enhanced abilities, he was still below hers, getting wounded.

The gash on his chest began to glow and quickly started to close, using the healing of the Eikons — something Luffy rarely used.

He had barely started the assault and was already having to rely on that ability.

His gaze turned back to the woman floating in the air with wings, and he quickly flexed his knees and dashed forward at full speed, as another swordfight began while Luffy reached the hybrid angel.

Soon, the island turned into complete chaos due to their battle. As more cracks began to emerge, the entire place shook with each clash of their blades, triggering eruptions of earth, building debris, or whatever else was in the area, as Luffy and Imu moved at high speed, their swords colliding again and again.

The daylight sky began to darken, and lightning started appearing throughout the atmosphere as black clouds formed above.

The place was in total chaos, with explosions erupting all across the city center, even disrupting some of the battles, as it became difficult to continue fighting.

Yamato had to pull back as the entire city began to be destroyed. She didn’t stop looking at Luffy, worried.

Luffy stood there, in the middle of the chaos, continuing the fight, while Imu moved as if she were playing in a park, with Luffy beginning to receive several cuts all over his body, while the healing ability kept activating nonstop.

On the screen, Vegapunk was still continuing the broadcast, making his final notes about the attack on Lulusia and the Mother, and speaking more about the government.

Imu looked furious, staring at the screen, before making the entire area explode, forcing Luffy to retreat a few meters.

She suddenly made her sword glow before charging full force. Then she launched a slash with the flames of chaos.

A purple glow and a yellow one collided with each other. Imu raised her sword upward, before the slash soared into the sky.

Before anyone could react, the slash hit the upper island. His crewmates were stunned inside the lab as they sensed the danger coming for them, but Lami was faster, using the ope-ope no mi to remove them from the area of the laboratory, just before the entire place exploded from Luffy and Imu’s attacks, which were causing destruction that shot toward the heavens.

“Damned…” Luffy muttered, with a dark look, after she tried to kill his crewmates. He stared at that thing with a shadowed expression.

In the next moment, he charged at her with full force and speed to begin another sword dance.

Vegapunk appeared along with everyone else. They were out in front, with all the island’s inhabitants watching in fear, along with the other Straw Hats who weren’t on the battlefield. Even Black Pearl had been brought with them.

“My lab… she’s after the den den mushi communicator!” Vegapunk shouted, looking at the flames, while Lami quickly put them out, using the ope ope no mi once again, as another attack came their way.

“We have to stay alert. Whoever that is fighting down there is no joke,” Lami warned with a serious tone.

“But… who is that? How can someone be strong enough to push the Captain like that?” Brook asked, alarmed.

“I don’t know… I don’t know what that thing is…” Vegapunk looked worried. He didn’t know about Imu’s existence, at least at first.

A bolt of lightning struck next to them as Enel appeared, his eyes narrowing.

“Who is that? That thing fighting the demon?” he asked.

“We don’t know, but it’s already extremely powerful. It might even threaten Luffy.” Nojiko replied, concerned.

In the next instant, without warning, Lami narrowed her eyes and quickly created another field from her fruit, making all the thousands of people vanish from the area, just as the entire place exploded with more golden and purple lightning bolts rising into the sky. Two holes were opened between the lower and upper islands.

Imu was hunting them down while still managing Luffy’s attacks.

“It’s getting dangerous…” Shaka murmured with concern.

At the same time, Nusjuro, down below, started to struggle, while Zoro began slicing various parts of his body — full of bones and even flesh — but he kept regenerating. Still, the situation wasn’t improving, as he was becoming more and more vulnerable, with Zoro being particularly ruthless at that moment.

Looking toward the Captain fighting in the distance, Zoro smiled, realizing that Luffy’s blade was getting more excited, and he was getting faster amid the chaos.

Imu kept advancing toward Luffy, sending several attacks into the sky on purpose in an attempt to destroy the transmitting den den mushi.

Luffy had suddenly slowed down, while she continued pressing him, but soon, his eyes began to narrow. He noticed that his opponent, despite taking several hits without stopping — constantly healing them — was starting to move faster.

Luffy took advantage of the fact that his injuries weren’t severe enough to lose limbs; she could only inflict superficial wounds, which he could heal instantly.

However, something else was happening. Luffy was getting faster.

And Imu realized something more. He was learning. And getting exponentially better by the second.

“Learning… 50 times.”

Luffy applied the power of the moa moa no mi specifically for training, never having found a sparring partner as good as the one he had now.

Imu kept a cold and stoic gaze the entire time, but Luffy could see even a glimmer of surprise in her at that moment, as he declared:

“This is a great opportunity for me to get stronger.”
