One Piece – I Am A Different Luffy! - Chapter 546 – News After Egghead.

[Chapter Size: 2100 Words.]
Third Person POV
Egghead.
…
…
Accusations that the World Government had tried to destroy Lulusia continued to surface through the One Piece Diary, spreading throughout the New World.
Not only was there the accusation that the World Government had attempted to wipe out an entire kingdom, but also the information that Lulusia had been saved by Monkey D. Luffy, who prevented its destruction.
This was the method Luffy wanted to use through the newspapers he created, exposing the Government’s destructive power and cruelty.
It wasn’t enough to just use the newspapers—Luffy also took advantage of Vegapunk’s broadcast when the World Government failed to destroy the transmitting den den mushi inside the robot that used haki to drive the Gorosei out of Egghead.
The images returned to countless town squares while most people still had their transmitters, with the government more limited in its ability to shut them down.
In the broadcast, the sky above Lulusia was clearly shown, just as a massive weapon began to emerge, concealed by a cloud. The entire world was in chaos at that moment, witnessing an attack directed straight at that island.
Luffy hijacked the Gorosei’s own transmission, and Peter’s words echoed on the screens.
“Remember, Lulusia never existed, and no one should speak of it again.”
He declared it should be erased from all records.
That revealed the cruelty, as Luffy had filmed everything, positioning a ship at a distance. It showed him going to the island, creating a shield, and freezing time, while the island could be seen beginning to slip out of space below the attack.
The Government’s fleet was frozen by some kind of power from Luffy.
A moment after Lulusia was out of reach, the weapon was fired downward. The beam blasted into the sea, devastating it and leaving a massive hole, while also causing several tsunamis to ripple in all directions.
After that, the transmission ended.
Certainly, this left the entire world shaken.
The idea that the World Government possessed such a weapon was unthinkable, yet there it was—always ready to be used at any moment.
Distrust toward the Government only increased.
People began to ask:
“How could they be so cruel?”
“How could they go around destroying entire kingdoms?”
“Who can stand up to them?”
“They were supposed to bring order to the world… but this is pure extermination!”
This had been Luffy’s plan from the beginning.
It started to plant the seeds of doubt, of discord, with the whole world beginning to lose faith in the World Government.
People would start to question whether or not they should believe in its words.
They had already deceived the whole world when they claimed one thing and did another, during the Wano attack when the government was supposed to remain neutral in the battle between Yonkous.
This was disastrous for the Government.
People would begin to question them openly!
And if they used force—even if it left many in fear and allowed them to impose order?
The idea of an oppressive government was growing stronger, and revolutions would begin all over the world, with people seeking to change monarchies, internal governments, and break away from the control of the World Government.
In Mary Geoise, chaos was erupting at that very moment.
The three Gorosei now decided every action after everything that had happened.
All of them wore dark expressions over what occurred that day. They had lost two of their companions, and the entire world had learned about their ancient weapon.
‘We were defeated by the Pirates of the Dawn…’ That was the thought on all their minds.
Even with Imu invading Saint Venus’s body to aid them in battle, to kill Vegapunk and destroy his broadcast… it all ended in failure.
As a result, Monkey D. Luffy himself had committed two unforgivable crimes — something even worse than killing an ordinary Tenryuubito, as he had killed two Elders, and the Gorosei stood above the people of Mary Geoise.
He had also gone head-to-head with Imu, mocked her, and used her as a stepping stone to grow stronger during the fight.
Imu had been behaving strangely ever since she returned.
She had not uttered a single word.
She simply remained silent.
They knew she should not be disturbed… that she must not be disturbed at this moment.
Or they would suffer her wrath. And that was something none of them wanted.
“All that’s left is to try damage control on all this madness before the World Government’s reputation crumbles even further in the eyes of the world.”
That was all they managed to say.
Topman, Nusjuro, and Peter seemed to be living through the weakest phase of the World Government in 800 years.
Meanwhile, inside a hidden part of Pangaea Castle, where countless Akuma no Mi were stored on shelves in an entire frozen room, the figure of Imu, still under a black veil, continued walking, stopping in front of the giant straw hat, frozen in place.
In her hands were several posters. She clenched them and threw them forward, landing near the hat that once belonged to Joy Boy.
On the posters were the images of Vivi, Shirahoshi, Blackbeard, Lucy, and lastly, Luffy.
She simply began slashing with a sword that appeared out of nowhere, slicing through the posters of Shirahoshi, Blackbeard, and Lucy, and then plunging the sword into the final poster — Luffy’s.
All of them had ties to the D. Clan.
Strangely, she had not cut Vivi’s poster, leaving it intact.
But her eyes quickly moved past it and focused on the last two.
“It was supposed to be you, Joy Boy… I hoped it would be you who would bring an age of battle and war again, like 800 years ago.”
Imu spoke, staring at the second-to-last poster — of a white-haired girl.
Imu looked lost, gazing in frustration at the last poster.
Everything was meant to come down to a battle between her and Joy Boy, but somehow fate had moved a new piece into play.
Monkey D. Luffy had proven to be even more dangerous.
“Could he be the one who will lead the world against me?”
The story didn’t seem to be unfolding the way she expected.
In a way, as much as she had once wanted to destroy Joy Boy and his brother, regrets would do her no good now.
She stared.
“I didn’t make the extreme decisions at the right moments… And now, there’s no way to regret the state of the world. Things seem to be heading down a new path, different from what they should have.”
“Monkey D. Luffy…” she murmured, locking eyes with Luffy’s image, staring at him with more interest than ever before.
These final words seemed to be heard by the remaining three Gorosei, who immediately furrowed their brows as they felt a certain tremor of fury within the castle.
“She… We must not interfere.”
Those were Nusjuro’s immediate words.
No one wanted to deal with Imu when she didn’t summon them, but they could clearly see she was far too enraged.
“At least, Imu-sama managed to destroy Saint Venus,” Peter commented.
She had been fighting well in those final moments, when there were only two opponents left.
Usopp and Nami, transformed into Eikons, were easy to handle. A balanced fight — far better than having to deal with that damned captain of theirs once Imu-sama joined the battle.
The others had still suffered significant damage, and all of them were concerned about Saint Venus’s power.
However, once Imu-sama declared she would be destroyed, no one questioned it further — and they all saw why.
They were afraid of that Tenryuubito turning against them.
The power of her mythical angel Akuma no Mi could have killed them.
Even so, it took tremendous power — something only Imu-sama had.
Luffy took advantage and redirected one of those attacks toward Mars, killing him easily.
And they were already aware that Luffy had used the very sword wielded by a Tenryuubito and drove it straight into Saturn, eliminating him in a single strike.
“Yes. She’s dead. She won’t be a problem anymore. We just need to be careful with her Akuma no Mi.
What worries me is that Monkey D. Luffy has a history of gaining the abilities of the users he’s killed.
He might revive the power of those Akuma no Mi and give them to others for some reason — and that’s a huge problem, considering most people at sea want to join him,” said Topman.
“If he succeeds. We’ll still have trouble if a new user of that fruit appears. We have to keep watch,” Peter agreed.
“In any case, we’re finally going to get an answer about Morgans News,” Nusjuro said in a frustrated tone, as a Den Den Mushi began to ring.
He had seen the future and already knew what the call was about.
Peter answered.
“Did they manage to find Morgans?” he asked, as the Den Den Mushi made a nervous, distressed face.
“No, sir. They gave a negative response. We came here to the office, but the entire place is gone. All the documents, items, and people. Everything. Morgans simply isn’t here anymore.”
The three remaining Gorosei wore grim expressions upon hearing that.
Their plan had been to capture him immediately, before any news about Egghead could spread.
There was an execution order, and even the Holy Knights had been dispatched on the mission as soon as they returned.
They had done everything to prevent a new paper about that day from being published.
It would be a fatal blow to the World Government if the Egghead news went public.
“Where is he? He’s running from us!” Topman was furious, barely holding back from releasing his Haki to avoid suffering Imu’s punishment, as he grew increasingly mad with their situation.
“My lord…”
Suddenly, someone appeared in the room, kneeling before them.
They were about to explode in rage at a Holy Knight invading their chamber in such a tense moment, but they quickly noticed something in his hand.
“What is that?” asked Topman.
“They’ve already started publishing newspapers…” Nusjuro spoke immediately, with a tone full of disbelief and anger, once again seeing the future.
“Of course. You, Elder Lords… that newspaper just arrived in Mary Geoise. I was the one who left it on the table,” Peter said, as the man left, placing the newspaper down and vanishing the next moment.
The three Gorosei had dark expressions, filled with murderous intent aimed at Morgans, who was no longer at his office but seemed to have escaped already, knowing the consequences of publishing that.
Meanwhile, a ship sailed through the New World with a massive fleet of thirty other ships full of people and entire families. In the distance, a giant elephant could be seen walking across the sea, as islands floated in the sky.
This was the territory of the most powerful pirate in the world.
Morgans stood on the deck of the ship, looking satisfied. He knew that if he published the news of that day, he would be marked for death. No matter how strong he was — the Holy Knights would hunt him to the ends of the world.
After publishing the national edition of the news, he made a decision.
“Now we’ll have our headquarters and work directly from the territory of the Pirates of the Dawn. This will be thrilling. The Government won’t be able to censor us anymore!”
He let out an excited laugh as he looked at the newspaper.
The front page wasn’t even about the possible end of the world that Vegapunk had tried to warn about, but instead about the deaths of two of the Gorosei in a battle at Egghead, while the World Government tried to kill Vegapunk and destroy his transmission.
The article detailed the battle and how each of the Pirates of the Dawn faced their opponents. Even the presence of a being powerful enough to pressure Monkey D. Luffy for a large part of the battle was highlighted, though no one could say who that monster was — only referring to her as Saint Venus with little information.
The newspaper went on until the moment Luffy won in the end, killing one Gorosei and then another.
The image of him driving a golden medieval sword into the forehead of a giant monster like Saturn was prominently featured — surely an image that would shake the entire world.
He chose it as the front cover. Only the following pages spoke about Vegapunk’s transmission.
“I feel like things just got a whole lot more interesting around the world.”
Morgans began to laugh, amused, knowing the World Government couldn’t even approach the territory of the Pirates of the Dawn — and that he would now become a massive thorn in the Government’s side.
Uncensored news…
