Chapter 184: Chapter 184: The Central Hub and Awakener Association
Considering that Emilia already had a massive [Spirit] stat along with her multipliers, [Star Comet] could easily devastate enemies far stronger than her level.
Overall, it was clear that Emilia had grown significantly stronger during the time she and Leon had been apart.
She was now level 68, and her [Combat Power] was around 680,000, which placed her firmly among the strongest players in their current range.
Leon now had a clear understanding of both Celeste and Emilia’s capabilities.
But the same couldn’t be said for the two girls regarding each other.
And so, as they continued heading toward the [Central Hub], the two of them naturally began sharing their panels in more detail.
They discussed their skills, sub-talents, and such.
Allowing them to better understand how they could work together as a team moving forward.
“You really are strong…” Celeste said with widened eyes after going through Emilia’s stats, “you’re only one level above me, but your [Combat Power] is so much higher…”
“Sub-talents make a huge difference,” Emilia replied casually, “once you get more of them, you’ll catch up quickly, don’t worry~”
Leon smiled slightly as he watched the two of them interact.
It was clear that they were getting along well, and more importantly, they didn’t seem to have any issues trusting each other.
There were no secrets between them now, which would make things much easier in future battles.
Emilia even decided to take it a step further and sent a friend request to Celete.
“Oh…!”
Ding!
[You have added “Saintess” as a friend.]
[Friends: 2]
She now had two people in her [Friend List], and the small smile on her face made it clear that this meant more to her than she let on.
“Oh yeah, before I forget…” Celeste suddenly said, “come out, Pyra!”
Fwoosh!
In an instant, a burst of flames appeared in front of them, and Pyra emerged from Celeste’s chest, hovering in the air with a soft glow surrounding her.
The moment Emilia saw the small phoenix, her eyes lit up instantly.
“Oh my god!” she exclaimed, completely captivated by the sight.
“She’s my pet,” Celeste explained proudly, “we’re growing stronger together.”
“Kyu~”
Emilia slowly extended her hand toward Pyra, and to her surprise, the small phoenix didn’t hesitate at all, allowing her to gently pet her.
“I guess she likes you,” Celeste nodded, clearly pleased, “that’s a good sign.”
Leon couldn’t help but wonder if this reaction had something to do with Emilia’s [Elven Saintess] talent, especially considering its effects on beasts.
Still, regardless of the reason, everything seemed to be going smoothly.
Pyra flew around the three of them for a few seconds, letting out soft, cheerful sounds as if enjoying the moment.
But eventually…
“Alright, come back,” Celeste said, her tone turning slightly more serious, “we don’t want to attract too much attention.”
And she was right.
Several people had already started glancing in their direction, clearly drawn by the rare sight of a phoenix.
Fwoosh!
Without resisting, Pyra returned to Celeste’s [Pet Space], disappearing just as quickly as she had appeared.
With that, the introductions were officially complete.
“We’re close now,” Emilia said as she looked ahead.
After a few more minutes of walking, the three of them finally reached what appeared to be the very center of the [Newbie District].
“Here it is,” Emilia announced as they stepped into a massive open square filled with tens of thousands of players moving in every direction.
Several large buildings surrounding the area, each one radiating importance.
“The [Central Hub].”
Leon and Celeste both stopped for a moment, their eyes scanning the scene before them.
The main thing that caught their attention was the giant tower-like building that stood at the very center of everything.
Rising far above the rest of the structures as if it was the true heart of this entire district, drawing in countless players who constantly moved in and out of it without pause.
And above it, glowing clearly for everyone to see, were the words… [Awakener Association].
“Are you kidding me?” Leon groaned as he stared at the building, “There’s something like this in a [Higher Domain]?”
To him, it felt almost too organized, too structured, like something you would expect in a real world system rather than a chaotic progression-based one.
“Many people decide to live their entire lives in this place,” Emilia explained calmly, as if this wasn’t surprising at all to her anymore, “so I think something like this actually makes sense, it keeps everything organized and makes things easier for everyone.”
Leon thought about it for a brief moment before nodding slowly.
“Alright,” he said, “I trust you.”
“S-Same!” Celeste quickly added, clearly not wanting to be left out as she looked at the massive building with a mix of curiosity and excitement.
Without wasting any more time, the three of them began walking toward the [Awakener Association], following the steady flow of players who were entering and leaving constantly.
The closer they got, the more imposing the structure felt, and once they finally stepped inside, it became immediately clear just how massive it truly was.
The interior was enormous, far larger than what the outside suggested, with high ceilings, wide pathways, and different sections filled with players.
“There are three main areas inside the association,” Emilia began explaining as they moved forward, more familiar with the place than the other two, “the [Market], the [Quests] section, and the [Realms].”
“Hm,” Leon nodded as he listened, already starting to piece together how everything worked.
But before he could say anything else, both he and Celeste suddenly had panels appear right in front of them.
Ding!
[New players detected in “Newbie District”]
[You have been signed up into the “Awakener Association” as “Celestial”]
[Please complete quests and become stronger to improve your odds of meeting the “Awakener Lord” and get rewards!]
Leon’s eyes narrowed slightly as he read through it, clearly intrigued by how automatic everything was.
“You get signed up the moment you enter?” he asked.
“Yep,” Emilia nodded with a small smile, “don’t worry though, it’s only beneficial, there’s no downside to it.”
“Interesting…” Leon murmured as he scratched his chin, “this is the first time I’ve seen something like this.”
“I also heard that every district has its own [Awakener Association],” Emilia added, “but the higher you go, the more intense everything becomes.”
“What do you mean by more intense?” Celeste asked, tilting her head slightly.
“The [Quests] and the [Realms],” Emilia replied, her expression turning a bit more serious, “and I’m not exaggerating when I say this, I’ve already tried a few, and they can get really brutal depending on the difficulty you choose.”
“Damn,” Leon muttered, clearly taking note of that.
If even Emilia, who was already quite strong, considered them difficult, then it meant they weren’t something to take lightly.
At the same time, it answered an important question he had earlier: this was how players leveled up in this domain.
Instead of roaming freely and hunting monsters like before, they would enter these environments, the so-called [Realms], and fight within them.
Unlike normal zones, these [Realms] were much larger, more open, and far more dangerous.
They also contained something known as a [Realm Boss], which Emilia had mentioned was significantly stronger than a typical [Zone Boss], to the point where most players didn’t even attempt to challenge them.
’Makes sense,’ Leon thought, his eyes scanning the surroundings as he watched players moving between different sections of the building.
