Chapter 212: Chapter 212: The District’s Guards, The B-Rank Building
As they continued walking forward, Leon also noticed something else.
At the entrance of each building, there was a faint transparent veil, similar to the ones in the [Market], preventing players from entering areas above their rank.
But that wasn’t the only form of security.
Standing nearby, positioned strategically around the area, were guards clad in heavy armor, their presence alone enough to make anyone think twice before causing trouble.
Leon focused his gaze on one of them, activating his observation instinctively.
—
[Newbie District Guard]
[Level: 100]
[Combat Power: ???]
[Details: A guard positioned in the “Newbie District” under direct order from the “Awakener Lord”]
—
Leon narrowed his eyes slightly, ’Level 100?’
That alone was enough to understand that these guards weren’t meant to be challenged.
Anyone who caused trouble here would be dealt with immediately.
“This place is stricter than it looks,” Leon said calmly.
Emilia nodded, her expression becoming a little more serious.
“Actually, the worst punishment here for the worst criminals isn’t prison,” she explained, her tone darker than before, “it’s being thrown out.”
Leon tilted his head slightly, “Thrown out?”
“Outside the [Awakener Kingdom],” Emilia continued, “No one ever returns.”
Leon let out a small chuckle, though there was a hint of curiosity in his eyes.
“I wonder what’s out there then,” he said, a faint grin forming on his face, “must be pretty bad if that’s considered the worst punishment.”
Emilia didn’t respond immediately, but the slight tension in her expression said enough.
Whatever was outside… wasn’t something people wanted to experience.
Eventually, after walking a little further, the three of them finally stopped in front of a building that stood out from the rest.
Above its entrance, a single letter was displayed clearly: [B-Rank]
And unlike the lower-ranked buildings, this one looked completely different.
It wasn’t just clean. It was luxurious.
The structure itself was larger, the design more refined, and even the materials used in its construction gave off a sense of quality that the others simply couldn’t match.
It was clear at a glance. This place was on another level entirely.
“There’s only one B-Rank building here,” Emilia said as she looked at it, her voice carrying a hint of excitement, “which makes sense, I guess… no one’s been able to access it for awhile.”
Celeste looked at it with wide eyes, clearly impressed, “This looks amazing…” she muttered.
Leon, on the other hand, simply stretched his neck slightly, rolling his shoulders as if releasing some tension.
“A small break before I start grinding again for the next few days,” he said calmly as he stepped forward.
Without hesitation, the three of them approached the entrance together, passing through the transparent veil without any resistance,
Emilia, Leon and Celeste made their way toward the reception desk, the atmosphere inside the building calm and almost unnaturally quiet compared to the chaos they had just come from.
Behind the counter stood a young-looking native, his posture straight but his expression completely giving him away the moment he saw them.
His eyes widened slightly, and then his entire face lit up as if something unbelievable had just walked through the door.
Leon noticed it instantly.
’No one ever comes here… no wonder,’ he thought, his gaze sweeping the empty lobby for a brief second before returning to the receptionist.
There were no other players around. It felt like the place had been waiting for someone to show up for a very long time.
Leon stepped forward, not wasting any time as he spoke, “We need a room.”
The receptionist blinked once, then nodded quickly, almost too quickly, clearly still a bit overwhelmed.
“Y-Yes, of course!” he replied, his voice slightly shaky but filled with excitement, “You can… uh… you can take pretty much any room you want.”
Leon glanced briefly at Emilia and Celeste, considering his options for a moment.
Originally, he had planned to get two separate rooms, one for himself and another for the two girls, simply because it made more sense from his perspective.
But before he could say anything—
“There’s no need,” Emilia spoke with a small smile, shaking her head lightly, “It’s better if we stay together, just in case. People seem to recognize you, and I’d rather not take unnecessary risks.”
Leon looked at her for a second, then shrugged slightly, “…It was mostly for me, but okay.”
A faint smile appeared on his face, not really bothered either way.
Celeste didn’t say anything, but she seemed perfectly fine with the decision, her expression relaxed as she looked around the place.
The receptionist, still trying to keep up with everything, quickly added, “It costs 2,000 Eternal Coins per person per night.”
Leon didn’t even hesitate. He paid instantly, not even bothering to think twice about the cost.
Compared to everything he had gained recently, and everything he was planning to gain in the near future, that amount was practically nothing.
In fact, selling a single sub-talent scroll from his inventory would easily cover their stay for several nights without any issue.
“Thank you!” the receptionist said, bowing slightly as he handed them the key.
Leon took it, and without wasting any more time, the three of them headed toward their room.
…
The moment they stepped inside, the difference between this place and everything they had experienced before became obvious.
The room was massive.
Clean. Organized. Well-lit. And most importantly… comfortable.
It didn’t feel like a temporary resting place. It felt like somewhere people were meant to actually live.
A large king-sized bed sat in the center, soft and inviting, with enough space for all three of them without any issue.
And the moment they saw it—
“I’m sooo tired~” Celeste let out a long yawn as she practically threw herself onto the bed, her body sinking into it instantly as she stretched out comfortably.
“I know we don’t really need sleep here,” she continued, her voice already growing softer, “but honestly… I feel like I’d go insane if I didn’t.”
“Agreed,” Emilia nodded as she followed right after, lying down beside her without hesitation, “Even if it’s not necessary… it still feels needed.”
There was something about resting that couldn’t be replaced, no matter how strong they became.
Something they clearly needed after everything they had just gone through.
Fwoosh!
At the same time, Celeste summoned Pyra, the small phoenix appearing in a burst of flames before hovering gently in the air.
It let out a soft chirp as it flew around the room, clearly full of energy despite everything.
“Just… don’t burn anything,” Celeste muttered with a lazy smile as she pulled a blanket over herself, already closing her eyes.
Pyra tilted its head slightly before circling once more, then settling down nearby, its flames dimming slightly.
Within moments… Both Celeste and Emilia were asleep.
Their breathing slowed. Their expressions relaxed. The tension from the battle completely gone.
Even Pyra eventually calmed down, resting quietly near them.
Leon stood there for a moment, watching the three of them in silence.
A small smile appeared on his face, ’Oh well…’
He didn’t feel tired. Not physically, nor mentally.
If anything, his mind was still active, still moving, still thinking about everything that had happened… and everything that was coming next.
