Others Summon Dragons, I Summon Legendary Knights - Chapter 194: Twisted Logic

Chapter 194: Twisted Logic
Hours later, as the sun was about to set, Godfrey, who had removed his jacket and folded the sleeves of his top, sat on a beach with Isolde by his side.
Both of them had boba tea. After the kiss, they went from one venue to another and finally, they were here to watch the sunset.
As they watched the sun slowly go down, the gorgeous orange hue took over its once radiant golden light.
Godfrey looked at Isolde, who drank her tea from the corner of his eye, and then his eyes descended to her slender fingers and manicured nails.
After contemplating for a while, he boldly took her hand and entwined their fingers. Isolde’s lips curled up as if she had been expecting this for a while now.
But she didn’t expect him to place her palm on his chest and rest his back on the sand. He shut his eyes as if her hand had some sort of soothing ability.
“Today’s been fun.”
Isolde hurriedly hit his chest. “Get up! You’ll miss it… it’s happening, it’s happening!”
Godfrey rose up, grimacing as if her light hit almost cracked his ribs. Meanwhile, far away, someone watched the couple with binoculars. He wore a baseball cap and a jacket. With clenched teeth, Jon watched, and he clenched his teeth harder with each passing second.
“She finally got together with him, huh.” He dropped the binoculars and watched the sunset with both hands in the pockets of his jacket.
“Enjoy, Isolde. You have just this moment.” He muttered as he walked away, brought out a phone, and made a call.
“Godfrey Daniels is with Isolde Pendragon on the island.”
“He’s out of the dungeon?” A voice responded from the other side.
“He didn’t just leave the dungeon, my superior Mildred said he closed the Divine Tier blue gate dungeon in just seven hours.” Jon said.
“Are you certain about this? He shut down a blue gate?!”
“I am, Mr. Manhattan.” Jon replied.
“I see. Don’t worry, once Cain revives, the world will bow before a Superior like you.” Mr. Manhattan’s voice rang from the other side of the phone before the call was cut.
Jon exhaled. He had no need to be here, and he had no need to feel guilty. Cain held power; he could give him a summon much stronger than what he had now. He would become a Superior, no different from a noble standing in the new world order.
If people like Mr. Manhattan were loyal followers, it was only wise someone like him, who was on the lower end of the ladder, should join. Cain was the Lord.

Later in the evening, Godfrey returned to Pendragon Mansion with Isolde. At the entrance, they saw the butler.
“Master Arthur wishes to see both of you.” The butler said.
“My father is back?!” Isolde was shocked. He usually spent months, but it’s just been hours since he left and he’s already back.
She looked at Godfrey with slight concern. When both of them got to the living room, they found Arthur sitting in the living room with one leg crossed over the other as he watched the television.
Godfrey looked at the television and saw a picture of him and Isolde in the ballroom, back when all the Pendragons gathered.
“These are proofs that back up the claim that Mr. Saviour here did all that stunt in Brooklyn because of what he wanted to do on Pendragon Island.” A familiar agent said, the same woman that Sebastian stopped from getting to Godfrey after Janet’s accidental leak.
“Where was he earlier when thousands were dying? Let me tell you, he was actually watching, assessing the risk. While our valiant force agents and guilds went in knowing the risk, this young man only appeared when the risk was only laid bare. With his strength, he would have stopped the destruction of Brooklyn, stopped the death of thousands of families, but he didn’t. He appears when the city is already gone, and we’re supposed to applaud him?” Cassie asked with a scowl.
“Besides, who’s to say he won’t go on another killing spree? I can’t trust a sixteen-year-old that kills three hundred policemen and, at eighteen, slaughters his classmates with his new Vagabond friends.” Cassie added.
“They’ve been doing this since yesterday. It’s worldwide, it’s causing discussions online. There is evidence popping up that your friend Percival had a piece of his school nurse summon at his workplace and flooded the entire island when the authorities tried to do their work.” Arthur said.
“What?!” Godfrey clenched his fist.
“Finally… they’ve stated why they need your mother.” Arthur said, forcing Godfrey to clench his teeth.
“It has turned the people. Perfect Life Era is on every platform, and it’s stated that your mother won’t die. Just the knowledge of what your mother can do is devastating to the human mind. Even good people can do hideous things when they’ve lost a loved one, and in our world where dungeons take lives every single day, a summon that promises revival of their lost ones is just too irresistible.”
Arthur turned to Godfrey. “If you fight now, you’ll give them more reasons to turn the world against you.”
“Why should I care about the world?” Godfrey’s response made Arthur sigh while Isolde held his palm.
Godfrey’s eyes were already bloodshot. “They want my mother to save their own. It’s their fault that they’re fools manipulated by the authorities.”
“I’ll handle things from here. Isolde, make sure no one finds him on this Island. An army is on their way here.” Arthur rose to his feet.

Two hours later, thirty thousand soldiers with armoured trucks and their summons stood outside the blue gate, with a few hundred of them within the blue gate.
While right before Pendragon Mansion stood one of the Seven Heads, Mr. Manhattan. Behind him were three vehicles.
Two Superintendents, Mildred Pendragon and Jon, stood by his side as he pulled down his tie while glaring at the lone man that stood before his mansion.
Arthur Pendragon.
“Where is he? Where is Godfrey?!”
“You can ask my sister, he’s not here.” Arthur replied calmly while staring meaningfully at Mildred.
“Mr. Pendragon, you will become the enemy of the people.”
Arthur approached Mr. Manhattan and leaned forward. “I know you’re adept at manipulating people. You’ve always been, but I have one question for you. There has never been a case like this. How do you know the Primal Stag can do all this miraculous work?”
Godfrey’s voice rang in Arthur’s head.
’This world is still being ruled by Cain. I believe one of the Heads might be one of Cain’s clones.’
