Others Summon Dragons, I Summon Legendary Knights - Chapter 198: Blind Godfrey

Chapter 198: Blind Godfrey
“This isn’t good.” Gum girl hit Janet’s arm. “Let’s go! Godfrey’s own summons are against him! We should leave before Silas turns on us.” She whispered in anxiety, pulling Janet’s arm, but Janet refused to move.
’A member of the Bane family. I heard their head, Mr. Manhattan, is the summoner of the Norse Wolf, a creature able to hunt and kill dragons. There’s no way Godfrey can win this fight unless he has something under his sleeve or he should just leave Isaac and Lucy. If he doesn’t… he might…’
“What are you doing?” Godfrey’s cold, authoritative voice rang. His eyes, though gray with blindness, gleamed even brighter as he faced off against his knights, all one thousand and four of them, majestic and imposing, aiming their weapons at him.
Silas raised an eyebrow.
“Kneel.” Godfrey ordered.
Silas almost chuckled. “Kneel? Godfrey, you’re such a clow—!” His eyes widened as all the Golden Order knights went on their knees.
“Loyalty is good, but even then, I have something stronger. That’s Authority. It supersedes their will.” At that utterance, Mountain roared, throwing his shield at Silas’ werewolf.
The werewolf grabbed the shield, but Tempest appeared above him, swinging his Double-Bladed Greatsword downward while his lightning bear lord descended into the ranks of Silas’ henchmen with the other knights.
The moment Lament moved, bodies were reduced to paste. His halberd reaped lives without regard, while Dirge sent the shadow gorilla at the few henchmen who were able to kill her Demon orcs.
Those that proved tough, she would kill by plunging rods through them and crushing them with concrete slabs.
’My real summon isn’t my knight, it’s the castle, and it doesn’t need loyalty, it doesn’t need emotions, just purpose, and I am that purpose.’ Godfrey said to himself as he watched his army demolish Silas’ army, but the Divine Tier summon unleashed a tiny black hole. It wasn’t exactly a black hole but it mimicked the attributes of one and that sucked in Mountain, Tempest, and surrounding knights, consuming them in an instant.
It howled and glared at Godfrey, who frowned. Divine Tier summons were on another level; it wiped out nearly four hundred knights, one chief, and one commander with that single skill.
“Your expression. Somehow, he can still see.” Silas muttered as his werewolf dashed toward Godfrey.
Meanwhile, Godfrey slammed his ironclad feet into the ground, summoned an Echo of Mountain’s longsword, ducked the werewolf’s claws, and struck from below, but when his longsword struck the werewolf, it felt like he struck indestructible metal and not fur and flesh.
’I see now… I’m definitely not fighting an ordinary high school student. It’s like this summon has endured the brutal challenges of countless dungeons for years.’
Godfrey thought. This summon must have developed a skill to make it more durable against sharp weapons, with the aim to make its foes come against it with blunt weapons while it had its claws and fangs.
Thus, giving it the advantage. It wouldn’t be a surprise if it was also able to casualize blows to an extent.
But… making him blind didn’t weaken him. In fact, Silas gave him the only opportunity to use Ballista’s ability of omni perception with ease.
Howling, the werewolf struck, each strike shattering the earth, but Godfrey easily evaded its attacks. One moment he was there, the next he wasn’t.
Furious, the werewolf summoned two black holes.
“Easy there.” It heard Godfrey’s voice and found him perched on its broad left shoulder, to the werewolf’s greatest shock.
It was clear; he spoke before landing there. Blind, with gleaming gray eyes, Godfrey was even more terrifying.
Godfrey used his telekinesis to slam the werewolf’s hands together, forcing both black holes to collide. He swiftly activated an Echo of Mountain’s shield dome to restrict the blast, but the explosion still shattered it; however, those outside were only affected by the wind blast.
When the dust fog lightened, they saw a gaping hole in the earth. It was massive and so deep, they could barely see a thing down there.
They could hear explosions caused by the exchange of blows down there. The sound was like detonating grenades, and the shockwaves were so fierce, they reached the top of the hole.
“What kind of power is this?” Gum girl fell on her bum, trembling heavily, while Janet clutched the metal wall.
In the depths of the hole over a thousand feet deep, Godfrey faced off against the werewolf. The wolf closed in, swinging its claws. Godfrey, seeing all this through Omni Perception, pulled his entire body weight to his right, resting it all on his right foot, which sank into the ground as his fist, covered in a gauntlet, smashed into the werewolf’s chest.
It recoiled, but Godfrey followed up with another punch, and another. All he could see was Lucy and Isaac’s bloody states.
Did Silas think he was the only one with power? He would show him who the true predator was here.
Lost in his rage, Godfrey launched a barrage of punches, each one sending violent shockwaves through the air.
By the time he realized himself, the 18.5 Divine Tier werewolf lay bloodied on the floor. Heaving, Godfrey walked over to its head and lifted up his foot, but the werewolf vanished at that moment.
Godfrey’s eyes gleamed as his vision returned and his irises became golden again.
At the surface, Silas moved toward a portal with clenched teeth, but something flew out of the pit with a massive gale in its wake.
Godfrey telekinetically pulled Silas, who leaped toward the gate, back toward him.
“I’m a member of the Bane family. The cost of killing me is too great for you to bear!” Silas bellowed.
“Is that so?” Godfrey said. “Well, I won’t.”
Silas was confused, but everything made sense when he saw what was left of his henchmen glare at him with hostility.
“Good luck.” Godfrey’s eyes glowed with a gray hue, and Silas lost his vision. He retrieved his knights and turned away as Silas was surrounded by his own henchmen and their werewolves.
“Record it.” Godfrey ordered Janet. She trembled, brought out her phone and began to record it live.
Godfrey covered his head with his hood, carried Lucy, and left with Isaac. Meanwhile, as the livestream gained more views, people couldn’t believe their eyes.
The girls didn’t record much as they fled for their lives before the henchmen would face them, but the echoes of that night were far from over.
