Chapter 274: Beautiful Isolde & Family Supper
Everyone had wide eyes. Victoria gasped. “My goodness is this your wife?! She’s so….—!” Victoria sized up Godfrey, wondering how this brat succeeded with a woman like Isolde.
Valentina covered her mouth. Her son has good eyes. She knew Isolde was good-looking but they had not seen her in person or like this before.
Isolde looked like she had grown more mature. Her supple skin clearly nourished by expensive mana creams glowed. Her facial structure was sharp with a pointed nose, high cheekbones and pink lips glossed red to match her striking hair.
Even with all that, she had admirable curves. And by that, Valentina and Victoria meant a shape they as women envied.
Ronald laughed. “You’re a talented fisherman. You’ve made me proud.”
Isolde blushed. But she would save Godfrey’s face today and not tell them she basically handed herself over to him on a silver platter. He barely had any good courtship skills. He wasn’t even that romantic with his words either.
She just had to teach him but being admired by Godfrey’s family members not only made her face hot, it filled her heart with pride.
“How’s this possible? How are you still alive?” Valentina asked softly.
“Well, I had a third summon. It was able to revive me which is why my hair colour changed and we don’t plan for the world to know yet.” Isolde smoothly responded with a charming smile.
“How about a family supper?”
Isolde’s eyes brightened at Ronald’s proposal.
“I’ll be back with my parents.” Isolde said, rolling her eyes at Godfrey before teleporting away.
Valentina tossed a cloth at her husband and son. “Clean up. The most influential family will be here soon, this place should be spotless when they arrive. Victoria, to the kitchen.” Valentina ordered.
“There won’t be a need for that.” Godfrey said and teleported everyone to the Pendragon Mansion. He couldn’t feel at peace if Isolde and her family spent much time in paradise, Gabriel could appear at any moment and he would sense them.
He could be more at ease here.
“You came over.” Christine’s voice rang. Everyone in the living room turned to Isolde’s mother who sat at the dining table with her husband.
“Isolde just told us the news but I see we might be having supper here then.” She rose from her chair with a gracious smile.
Valentina cleared her throat. “I’m Valentina Daniels, Godfrey’s mother. Ronald is his father and Victoria is his aunt.”
“The Ronald Daniels.” Arthur looked at them. “Come sit.”
Christine glared at him. “Be courteous. I’m Christine Pendragon, this stubborn man here is my husband, Arthur Pendragon. And we’re delighted to have you in our home, I would have scolded Godfrey if I were his mother.”
She rolled her eyes at Godfrey. What a late, unprepared and sudden meeting. Things like these were planned beforehand.
Well, it was usually before the couples got married but the perpetrators here were already bonded by Pendragon tradition.
“I’ll need assistance in the kitchen. I would have alerted the maids to prepare something if I knew earlier.” Christine said.
Valentina beamed. “I’ll be happy to help. Victoria too.”
Christine turned to the butler who walked into the scene. “Tell Isolde to reconsider her dress because she’ll be joining us at the kitchen first.”
The butler nodded and left swiftly. Of course there was a reason that Christine and Arthur could trust him even after dispatching ninety percent of their staff.
A Pendragon butler was a summon inherited by Pendragon heads, the butler controlled the mansion and was from a race of dragon servants, beings that can speak the tongue of dragons. They had gone extinct along with the dragons but this one had managed to become a summon.
It was kept a secret. Only the family head and his wife were supposed to know of this secret.
On their way to the kitchen, Christine turned to Valentina.
“Now we can address serious matters. My daughter can’t lose the Pendragon name because she will be the next head. In the context of the family’s tradition, Godfrey is a consort. Most consorts take the family name.”
Valentina chuckled. “Pendragon or Daniels, he’s my son.”
Christine’s eyes widened a bit. ’I see why the boy was so gentle at first. His parents are easy-going people, they aren’t like us who have to keep a powerful family in control and monitor the vast amount of resources coming from several dungeons. That aside, it seems like this woman doesn’t know her status. She’s the mother to a king. As hard as it is, no surname will matter once he becomes lord over that castle.’
Her eyes flickered at the irony. ’Isolde might end up being the consort.’

In an apartment in one of the US cities quite a considerable distance away from Manhattan, Tomás, one of Earth’s Paragons, sat on a sofa staring at his lover.
She had this blank look in her eyes as she hugged her knees, a cloth wrapped around her. Her hair was disheveled. This was the glorious Miquella, the bright judge of the authorities, a woman that had never known defeat.
But now she looked broken, her charm lost in that hollow face and empty eyes. Seeing his lover like this made Tomás clench his fist.
He suddenly rose to his feet. “Enough of this. I’m going to see how exactly he managed to put you in this state. He better be prepared to apologize because I’ll drag him right here. If he doesn’t I’ll kill him.”
Tomás clenched his teeth. No man in his right mind would watch the woman he had affection for be in this state and do nothing about it.
Miquella didn’t reply, it was like she didn’t even hear him. She was lost in her own world of self-loathing. Pride was her own downfall.
But no matter, Tomás was certain seeing Godfrey’s face would snap her out of this miserable state.
“I’ll kill him.” His eyes reddened as he approached the door. The moment he opened it, he found a man in the outfit of a prisoner standing right outside his door.
“No… you won’t.” Sebastian chuckled sinisterly, revealing his full set of teeth.
