Chapter 259: 259:The Order Of Eternal Blades
Ethan looked around and shouted. His voice echoed across the land like rolling steel.
“I have only weakness..”
“That’s my family..”
“And you all are no less than my family.”
“As a Lord, you all my responsibility. Touching my people is like touching my pride.”
“And no matter what, a noble pride can be defined but not crushed.”
“You dare touch my people now you will see the consequences.”
His tone rose and thunder shook the hearts of everyone listening.
“Order of Eterna Blades.”
As soon as he called them, thousands of auras erupted like a wave of raw force. Even seasoned men stepped back. The ground felt heavy under so much power.
All nobles had restrictions placed on them so they could not gather more than they were allowed. But from the time Ethan had become Baron, he never once stepped back. He never stopped gathering troops.
And now he stood before a force that could make kingdoms sweat.
He had almost fifteen thousand soldiers. One thousand cavalry with black-plated horses that snorted steam like beasts from ancient war. Six thousand infantry that stood like iron walls. And seventeen hundred knights. Among them were the specialized knights of the Eternal Order.
Each one was equal to one hundred men.
“My dear soldiers.”
“Hisss!”
BOOM!
Armored knights slammed their boots into the ground at the same moment. The earth trembled like thunder rolled beneath their feet. Spears were raised. Swords gleamed like stars. The noise was deafening and the pressure spread like a tidal wave.
They raised their weapons again and struck the ground.
“Just give the order..”
“It’s time to show the world your might.”
Their voices were iron.
“Go and free the Western region from the filth that dared to taint it.”
“Free i4 from evil.”
“Yesss!”
Randall stepped forward.
“Randall!”
“Yes My Lord!”
“You are appointed as the Commander!”
“Yes!”
He leapt like thunder striking earth and landed with force that cracked the stone beneath him.
“Leave it to me..”
“I will crush those fools..”
” Good.. Go.”
The knights answered.
“FOR BLANKS!”
“FOR THE PEOPLE!”
“FOR THE LORD!”
The voices swallowed the sky. It was like mountains roared.
Following the scream,they started moving.
Thousands surged like a wave of steel. Hooves thundered like storms.
Their pressure was as heavy as the horizon itself. Trees shook. Birds fled. The distant hills trembled.
Duke Phillips swallowed his saliva and rubbed his eyes wondering what the hell did he see just now?
Is this how nobles give orders?
It looked like people rebelling to end the reign of tyranny.
Then he heard someone shouting.
“Goooo!”
“The Western region would soon know the meaning of fear and salvation.”
Hearing the sentence,Duke Phillips almost cried.
’Ahhhhh! At least take a look at me. After all, I am the true Lord of Western region.’
…..
Far from Blanks, the forest road was quiet at first. Only the creak of wooden wheels and the slow rhythm of horses echoed in the night.
A small transport caravan moved down a muddy path, unaware of death waiting ahead.
The lantern light swung gently. Children slept in carts while bigger men whispered stories to pass time.
It was a group from an orphanage.
In the orphanages funded by Blanks, every few months the children were taken for a picnic to enjoy.
After playing to their heart content the kids were tired and slept soundly.
Then without warning, torches burst from the darkness.
Dozens of figures stepped from trees. Shadows covered their figures except for the gleam of the knife.
They looked disjointed and crude yet their steps were trained and sharp. They surrounded the caravan like wolves circling lambs.
The carriage coachmen gasped. Horses whinnied and backed away, sensing danger.
Then chaos started.
Steel flashed and swords swung. Screams tore the night open.
Bodies hit the ground with a wet sound. Blood sprayed over carts. Horses reared and toppled, crushing goods beneath hooves. Women screamed for children. Men begged for mercy.
.
Guards tried to fight but were overwhelmed. Their blades shook from fear and their strength crumbled. Within minutes, the road was painted red.
Bodies twitched and cries echoed through trees.
Survivors were dragged out and bound like animals. Women were pushed aside and children thrown like sacks. The bandits moved like they practiced this many times.
Heartless to the core.
A large cage was set beside the road. One by one the living were shoved inside. People huddled together, shaking. The air trembled with sobs and pain.
“Please let us go,” a young woman cried. Her voice is thin like a broken reed. “We have nothing left.”
One mercenary laughed and kicked her stomach so hard she folded. She crawled to the corner, gasping.
“Shut up and be quiet.”
Another guy begged loudly. His clothes were torn. His arm was bleeding. Tears fell from his face as he screamed.
“Please stop…They are small childrens.”
“Shut up!”
BANG!
The person was slapped, knocking teeth out of the gums.
“Ahh… If there is justice, where is he?”
He slammed his head on the cage bars.
“If there is a God why do you let such a beast run amok!”
A mercenary crouched at bars. He grinned exposing the teeth that were yellow. His eyes are like dead stone.
“Beast… Hekeke.”
“There is no God going to protect you ahahaahh.”
His laughter crawled into skin like worms.
The caravan fell silent. Only crying children remained. And the groans of the wounded.
“Ahaha. Cry all you want but there is no m—”
“Shut up fucker!” a child screamed.
A small boy’s face was bruised yet his eyes were burning. He spat at the bandit and everyone froze.
“Bastard..” the bandit growled. He kicked the boy hard. The child rolled but then laughed. A broken fearless laugh.
“Hahahah!”
“Grown ass man who bullies kid… My Lord will surely flatten you.”
The bandit paused. Surprise flickered in his ugly face.
“Who is your Lord!”
“My Lord is one and only Lord Ethan. The moment he knew this you all were finished.”
A silence lingered.
Then the bandits laughed.
“Your Lord is shit. He is just a coward who hid behind his woman and even avoided war because he feared for his life.”
“Such a pussy won’t be doing anything.”
Saying this he raised his sword to kill.
The boy closed his eyes. His breath was shallow as he waited for death.
But death did not come.
Instead he felt warm hands around him.
A voice. Deep. Calm.
“Don’t worry… You are safe!”
“Huh?”
He opened his eyes slowly and saw the bandit who mocked his Lord standing there.
Blood pouring from shoulders. Both arms missing at the elbow.
And behind him stood a gleaming knight with a blade dripping red.
