Chapter 304: 304:The Wyvern King Vs Ethan 2
Lightning exploded beneath his feet as Ethan shot forward. The ground cracked as his boots pushed off with violent force. He swung his sword in a wide arc, his arms steady and firm, drew a crescent of arc that casted a fire tore through the earth, ripping forward toward the beast and carving a burning path behind it.
The Wyvern King reacted instantly.
It slammed its massive claws down.
The impact was devastating. A wall of compressed wind erupted outward, smashing
Ethan’s flame slash apart like fragile glass. The force sent dirt, broken stone, and massive boulders flying in every direction. Ethan twisted his body midair, forcing his muscles to obey as he narrowly avoided being crushed by spinning debris. A boulder grazed past his shoulder and shattered behind him.
The Wyvern King opened its mouth.
This time, it did not breathe fire.
A sphere of dense energy formed between its jaws. It spun violently, layers of power compressing tighter and tighter. The pressure alone bent trees sideways and crushed rocks flat against the ground as if they were made of clay.
Ethan’s eyes narrowed sharply.
“Not happening.”
He raised his free hand, lightning crackling around his fingers.
“Lightning Descent!”
The sky flashed white.
A bolt of lightning tore down from the heavens and struck the energy sphere before it could be released. The explosion was blinding. Sound vanished for a heartbeat, then returned as a violent roar. Energy spiraled out of control, ripping a massive hole into the mountainside and sending shockwaves racing across the plains. The ground split, and distant structures trembled.
The Wyvern King staggered back with black smoke pouring from its jaws as it let out a furious growl.
Ethan did not give it a moment to recover.
He blinked forward, space distorting around him, and landed hard on the Wyvern King’s shoulder. Flames burst from his boots as he ran up its thick neck. His sword moved again and again, each slash was precise and brutal.
Sparks flew as steel met scale, and dark blood sprayed into the air.
The Wyvern King thrashed wildly, roaring in pain and rage.
Its tail whipped around with terrifying speed and struck Ethan mid-swing.
BANG!
The impact sent Ethan flying like a cannonball. His body smashed through a stone ridge, shattered rock exploding outward. He rolled across scorched ground, leaving a trail of broken earth behind him, and finally skidded to a halt near the edge of the camp.
He coughed hard and pushed himself up, one hand gripping his sword tightly.
“Ethan!” Duke Phillips shouted from behind the defensive lines.
“I am fine!” Ethan yelled back, though his breathing was heavier now, his chest rising and falling rapidly.
The Wyvern King turned its massive head toward the army again.
Its eyes glowed with a dangerous light.
Mana surged violently around its body.
“No,” Ethan growled.
He slammed his sword into the ground with both hands.
“Lightening Domain Release!”
The earth shook violently. A massive ring of flame and lightning burst outward from Ethan, spreading across the battlefield like a living wall. The ground inside the ring turned black and glassy, heat warping the air and making it difficult to breathe.
The Wyvern King stepped forward.
The moment it entered the domain, flames climbed up its legs, burning fiercely, while bolts of lightning struck its body again and again. The beast roared, struggling against the crushing pressure, but its movements slowed, each step heavier than the last.
Ethan walked forward calmly, step by step, his gaze locked on the beast.
“If you want to reach them,” he said coldly. “Then you need to go through me.”
The Wyvern King gathered its strength, and the muscles swelled as mana condensed violently.
It reared back and slammed both wings down with all its power.
The domain shattered.
Flames and lightning exploded outward in every direction. Ethan was thrown back once more, crashing hard into the ground. His body slid across broken earth, and his domain collapsed completely, leaving the land even more ruined than before.
For a moment, everything was still.
Then Ethan laughed.
It was low and rough, filled with raw excitement.
“Hah… so that is how strong you are.”
The spells bombardment and aura slashes had not done much damage. The beast’s scales were extremely hard.
And they were not normal scales. They were dragon scales.
Ethan’s brows furrowed as realization struck him.
’Damn..I thought I was mistaken previously but it really has Draconic powers like me.’
How the fuck did a Wyvern have dragon scales?
’Is one of its parents a dragon?’
It might be.
The thought made his heart race. Curiosity pricked deep into his soul. If that was true, then there might be a dragon nearby.
A real dragon.
A being that ruled mythology itself.
Who would not be curious?
Ethan rose slowly, his aura flaring violently around him. Power poured out like a storm. His greatsword burned brighter than ever, lightning and flame twisting together along the blade.
“Good,” he said, eyes locked onto the Wyvern King. “Then I do not need to hold back anymore.”
He activated Battle Frenzy.
BOOOM!
His body surged with wild power. Muscles tightened and swelled, veins glowing faintly beneath his skin. His strength skyrocketed, and the pressure around him intensified.
SWOOOSH!
Ethan vanished.
His speed exploded beyond what the naked eye could track. His image blurred until it became almost invisible, leaving only faint distortions in the air.
The Wyvern King frowned slightly. Its eyes narrowed as it tried to trace Ethan’s movement, its gaze darting wildly as if the figure had disappeared entirely.
A piercing shriek erupted from the Wyvern King’s throat, sending shockwaves tearing through the sky. It whipped its massive tail again and again, slamming the ground and air in every direction, desperately trying to hit Ethan.
Shockwaves ripped through the battlefield.
But Ethan was already gone.
His blurred image danced through the air, dodging every attack with terrifying precision. He moved around the Wyvern King, closing in rapidly, his presence pressing closer with each heartbeat.
Before the Wyvern King could understand what was happening, it saw it.
A massive greatsword descended from above like a falling ruler from the heavens, blazing with overwhelming power.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
……..
