Chapter 411:Sudden Attack
Rows of demon soldiers stood in strict formation.
Their armor was dark and jagged, etched with glowing red lines that pulsed faintly like veins. Some had horns curling from their skulls, some had scaled skin, and others carried strange mutations, yet all of them stood straight and silent. Their eyes were cold, trained, and obedient. Not a single one dared to move out of line.
At one side of the camp, a large containment zone stretched across the land.
Massive iron cages were lined up in rows, each reinforced with glowing runes and thick chains that rattled softly under pressure. Below them, rows of demons worked with heavy chains tied tightly around their necks. Their bodies were bent forward under forced labor, their movements hurried and tense.
“Hey, be careful. If the heartbeat stops, you will be punished.”
“Don’t forget the main reason we are here.”
“Guargghh!”
A demon roared as he slammed his whip down violently. The sharp crack echoed through the zone, causing many lesser demons to flinch and run around frantically, fear clear on their faces.
Just like humans, demons also had classes.
There were lesser demons, greater demons, and noble demons.
Only those born carrying the blood of the Clan of Sins could be considered noble demons. Greater demons were those who stepped onto the path of awakening through strength and trials. Anyone who failed to awaken, regardless of lineage, remained a lesser demon. They were similar to ordinary citizens in the human world, beings who could only bow down, obey, and be trampled without protest.
Demon handlers moved between the cages with caution taking a look at everything.Their expressions were calm, their movements efficient, as they checked seals, adjusted chains, and marked cages with symbols. Nothing was rushed, yet nothing was delayed.
Nearby, another group of demons was organizing supplies.
Crates filled with dark crystals and blood-soaked artifacts were stacked neatly in rows. Some containers glowed faintly, while others were completely sealed, leaking an ominous pressure that made weaker demons instinctively avoid them. The air around these crates felt heavy and dangerous.
Everything moved in rhythm.
Orders were spoken calmly. Signals were exchanged through hand signs and short commands. There was no shouting and no confusion. This camp had been operating for a long time, and every demon knew their place.
Standing at the highest platform was the one overseeing it all.
A Legendary rank demon.
He was tall, broad, and imposing, with dark crimson skin and long curved horns sweeping backward. A heavy cloak rested on his shoulders, and his aura alone pressed down on the entire camp like a silent command. His glowing eyes calmly observed every corner of the barracks, missing nothing.
He was Az Mammon.
Two elite guards stood behind him, unmoving like statues.
Occasionally, Az Mammon raised a hand, and entire sections would immediately halt or shift formation. His presence kept everything in perfect order.
“It has been so long. I wonder why these two are taking so long,” Az clicked his tongue in disgust.
“They might have encountered a tough opponent,” one of the guards spoke carefully.
“Tough!” Az snorted. “Did you forget we are talking about Damor? That idiot prideful bastard is a hard nut to crack. He won’t be defeated easily.”
“I heard there was a Legendary rank aiding them. Haaa. If not for the restriction to not engage in full force, what could the weaklings of Frontier even do,” Az said, then shook his head.
The main command was to drag this out as much as possible without turning it into a futile conflict. They might have sped things up if Ruthiana had not fallen into Arcadia’s hands.
“Whatever. Once Frontier is finished, we might have to face the Empire. Sooner or later, it’s going to full for—”
Az’s words stopped abruptly.
He felt danger approaching.
“WHOOOO!” he roared as he released his aura, but the other party was clearly not deterred.
In the very next moment, a meteor strike tore across the sky.
“Nooo!” Az roared as he shot out to stop it, but just then a bolt of lightning struck with fierce intent, forcing him to defend.
CRUNNG!
A splashing impact erupted as he was pushed back. As he turned to neutralize it, the massive meteor rolled across the sky and slammed directly into the camp with a terrifying blast.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
For a single terrifying moment, the entire world was lit up. A gigantic mold of inferno bloomed outward, swallowing the sky and land alike, as if the world itself had been wrapped inside a blazing furnace. The explosion did not roar immediately. It pressed down first, crushing everything, and then erupted in a violent surge.
A shock of pure flame spread in all directions, incinerating everything in its path.
Anyone below King rank did not even have the chance to scream. Their bodies were blown apart and reduced to ashes instantly, leaving behind nothing, not even fragments. Tents, cages, banners, and structures vanished as if they had never existed. The orderly demonic camp was erased in a blink.
The shockwave of flames rolled outward and slammed into Az Mammon, striking his body and throwing him backward through the air.
He did not defend against it because he couldn’t.
His mind was frozen in disbelief, and his body twisted helplessly as he was pushed away by the overwhelming force.
As the flames faded and the world slowly came back into view, Az finally realized what had just happened.
The realization broke something inside him.
“ARGHHHHHHHHHH!”
His roar tore through the ruined land, filled with raw fury and disbelief.
“YOUUUU!”
His eyes burned red as he stared at the destruction around him. The camp was gone. The barracks were burnt to dust. The cages, the supplies, the formations, all of it had vanished without a trace.
“Do you know what you just did?” Az shouted, his voice shaking with rage. “You destroyed a few months of hardship!”
He slammed his foot into the ground with full force.
BOOOM!
The earth beneath him shattered and pulverized, cracks spreading outward as dust and debris shot into the air.
“How dare you!” Az roared, his aura exploding violently around him.
