Chapter 412: Absolute Thrashing
The earth beneath him shattered and pulverized, cracks spreading outward as dust and debris shot into the air.
“How dare you!” Az roared, his aura exploding violently around him.
Ethan slowly turned his gaze toward Az.
The flames were still fading, and heat still lingered in the air, yet the moment Ethan looked at him, the world seemed to turn cold.
An unnatural chill spread, clashing against the remaining heat, making the air feel heavy and sharp at the same time.
“I have met many people,” Ethan said calmly, his expression twisting slightly, “but I have yet to see someone as shameless as you.”
His eyes narrowed.
“I… No, why the hell am I talking too much…”
He shook his head lightly, as if dismissing the thought.
“What good would it do to talk to a guy who is going to die?”
Az’s expression changed completely. The fury on his face hardened into killing intent as his lips curled back.
“Attack him!” he shouted.
Swoosh!
The next moment, many King rank knights who had barely managed to survive the inferno shot forward at once. Their bodies burst with power as they rushed toward Ethan from different directions, weapons raised and auras flaring. The sky trembled as they moved, their combined presence creating immense pressure.
Az watched closely.
He believed they would at least drag Ethan down, slow him, or force him to defend.
But in the very next instant, his pupils shrank.
SWISHHH!
Sharp lines of light shot out across the sky one after another. They appeared without warning, slicing through the air with terrifying speed. Each line cut across the world itself, leaving behind faint distortions as if space had been scratched open.
The lines multiplied.
They crossed, overlapped, and spread outward in every direction.
Soon, it felt as if the sky itself had been carved apart.
The King rank knights did not even have time to understand what was happening. Their bodies were sliced cleanly as they rushed forward. Armor split apart and limbs were severed. Bodies were cut into pieces mid-air, blood scattering before turning into mist under the lingering heat.
One after another, they fell.
Some were split in half. Some were reduced to fragments. None of them managed to get close.
Amidst all those deadly lines, Ethan stood completely still.
He did not raise his hand. He did not move forward. His posture remained calm and upright, as if the massacre unfolding around him had nothing to do with him.
The attackers vanished.
In just a few breaths, the sky was empty again.
Silence returned, broken only by the crackling of fading flames and the distant rumble of collapsing land.
Az Mammon stared in shock.
His breath caught in his throat as his eyes trembled slightly. The King rank knights he had relied on were gone. They were completely wiped out.
Ethan slowly lowered his gaze back to Az.
The ground beneath his feet was scorched black, and the air around him was still heavy with destruction. His presence alone pressed down like an invisible mountain.
“You should have run,” Ethan said calmly. “Now you don’t even have that option.”
The ruined battlefield stood silent, and Az finally understood that this was not an invasion.
It was exterminated.
“Don’t be smug. It’s not over,” Az shouted as rage twisted his face, and in the same breath he shot forward like a comet.
The air screamed as he moved. Mana gathered around his body in a violent storm, and his sword trembled as it absorbed everything he poured into it. This time, there was no restraint.
There was no hesitation as Az went all out in a single strike, his killing intent bursting free without limit.
He raised his sword high.
The moment it came down, the world answered.
A colossal sword-shaped wave tore out from his blade, stretching across the sky like a falling judgment. The attack was vast and terrifying, carrying crushing pressure that bent the land beneath it. The clouds were ripped apart, the air was sliced open, and the ground below cracked and collapsed as if it could not endure the weight of the strike.
Mountains in the distance trembled violently. What little remained of the demonic camp was flattened completely, erased by the mere aftermath of the attack. The sword wave howled forward, roaring with destructive force, aiming to completely neutralize Ethan in a single blow.
SWIISHNN!
The attack tore through space itself.
Ethan stood still.
His white hair swirled wildly as the pressure reached him, and his clothes fluttered violently in the raging wind. The ground beneath his feet sank and shattered, yet his posture did not change. He did not retreat. He did not brace.
He simply watched it come.
A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips as he felt the power rushing toward him.
“Good,” Ethan said calmly. “Since you are going out, let’s finish this once and for all.”
He raised both hands and slowly intertwined his fingers, forming strange and unfamiliar signs. His fingers locked together with deliberate precision, and the space around him trembled faintly, as if responding to his will.
SWIIIIISHHH!
BOOOOOOOM!
A massive shockwave rattled across the sky. The clouds exploded outward, and Ethan’s entire body was suddenly engulfed in a mythical light. It was not fire, nor lightning, but something far deeper and purer. The light wrapped around him like a living presence, humming with ancient power.
The air grew heavy.
The light around Ethan began to condense, gathering and compressing until it formed distinct shapes. One by one, glowing swords emerged from the light. They hovered around him, radiant and sharp, each one humming with excitement as if alive.
Five swords of pure light.
Their edges vibrated softly, releasing faint ripples that distorted the air.
Ethan looked at them and shouted, “Go!”
The moment the word left his mouth, the swords launched forward like missiles.
BOOOOOOM!
They tore across space, breaking the barrier of sound instantly. Sonic booms erupted behind them, and violent shockwaves spread outward as the swords accelerated further. The sky cracked with thunderous noise, and long trails of light carved paths through the air.
The five swords met Az’s attack head-on.
They struck the massive sword wave without slowing down.
For a brief moment, the two opposing forces pushed against each other. Light and darkness clashed violently, grinding and tearing at one another. The air twisted under the pressure, and the energy condensed tightly at the point of collision.
Then it exploded.
A blinding burst of light swallowed everything.
