Chapter 440:Let’s Welcome The Demon Friends
Ethan observed the Duke’s visibly anxious expression and spoke calmly.
“I am keeping a strict eye on things,” he replied.
“It is a bit troublesome, but we are managing. If I personally make an appearance, I can settle things quickly, but it might leave Blanks vulnerable.”
Lancelot fell silent for a moment.
He understood immediately.
Ethan was guarding two fronts at once.
After a brief pause, Lancelot spoke firmly.
“Ethan… go and take care of Frostvele.”
Ethan raised his brows slightly.
“As for Blank’s safety, leave it to us,” Lancelot continued. “I will send Amber for reinforcement.”
A faint smile appeared on Ethan’s face.
The situation was already under his control, but support from Lancelot would stabilize the political side greatly.
Sometimes strength alone was not enough.
Timing and alliances mattered just as much.
Just as Ethan was about to respond, Lancelot suddenly spoke again.
“Ethan.”
“Yes?”
The Duke cleared his throat awkwardly.
“If we manage to get through this war… I wonder if you have any thoughts about marrying my daughter.”
The sudden question caught Ethan completely off guard. For a brief second, even he did not know how to respond.
He shook his head lightly and answered honestly.
“It depends on fate and Amber. I do not know if she has any thoughts about it.”
Lancelot sighed softly.
“Haa… I know. But I do not think Amber would hate it.”
He then waved his hand dismissively.
“Alright. This old man has talked enough. Best of luck.”
Before Ethan could reply further, the communication crystal dimmed and the connection ended.
The room fell quiet.
Ethan looked at the fading projection and exhaled slowly. And now, the next move could no longer be delayed.
After Ethan closed the connection with Duke Lancelot, the communication crystal slowly dimmed and returned to silence. The room felt unusually heavy for a moment as distant sounds of activity echoed outside the estate.
Ethan did not move immediately.
Instead, he turned toward another floating crystal positioned above the table. The projection shimmered faintly, displaying the live battlefield of Frostvele.
Flashes of explosions lit the snowy plains. Smoke rolled endlessly while soldiers and demons clashed beneath the fortress walls.
Ethan watched quietly, his eyes narrowing.
He had been keeping a strict eye on the situation from the very beginning. Every troop movement, every surge of demonic aura, and every defensive response from Frostvele had been monitored carefully.
However, the situation was clearly becoming tense. He folded his arms and exhaled slowly.
“I could just send Mareti or Rathlos,” he murmured to himself.
But after a brief pause, he shook his head.
No.
Their appearance needed to remain hidden. Surprise was often more valuable than strength itself, especially when greater enemies were still waiting in the shadows.
“It seems I cannot prolong this any longer,” Ethan said quietly. “I need to move.”
He stood up abruptly.
“Rathlos!” he called out loudly.
Moments later, Rathlos appeared at the entrance.
“Yes, My Lord?”
Ethan grabbed his cloak while walking past him.
“Take care of things here. I need to move.”
Rathlos immediately understood and bowed.
“As you command.”
…
Meanwhile, beyond the massive walls of Frostvele, the battlefield that had previously tilted toward Blank forces suddenly turned dangerous.
From deep within the forest, the ground began trembling again.
THOOM.
THOOM.
THOOM.
A massive shadow stretched across the battlefield as soldiers instinctively looked upward.
Panic spread instantly.
“It’s another one!”
“The Belphegor demon!”
The enormous creature crawled out from the forest, its mountain-like body dragging across shattered terrain. Its long forelimbs dug into the earth while its grotesque mouth slowly opened, creating terrifying suction that pulled debris, corpses, and even unlucky demons toward it.
Snow, blood, and broken weapons spiraled violently into the air.
“Hold your ground!”
“Stabilize formation!”
But fear had already begun spreading among both humans and lower demons alike.
At that exact moment, Emma stepped forward atop the wall platform.
Her eyes were calm.
She gripped the Arcane Burst Cannon controls firmly.
“Dismantle it.”
HUM! HUM! HUM!
The cannon began vibrating violently as mana gathered at terrifying speed. Light condensed at the barrel, growing brighter with every passing second.
Soldiers nearby covered their ears instinctively.
Then—
BANGHHHHHHH!
A blinding ray of light tore through the battlefield.
The beam struck directly into the Belphegor demon’s upper body before it could react.
For one silent second—
Everything froze.
Then the explosion erupted.
The upper half of the demon detonated violently, flesh and shattered bone scattering across the sky. Chunks of burning meat rained down across demons and human soldiers alike.
The creature released a horrifying roar before its voice abruptly cut off.
Blood poured like crimson rain.
“Move!”
“Get cover!”
“Shit! Watch out!”
Demons screamed while retreating from falling remains. Human soldiers cursed loudly while shielding themselves from the disgusting rain of blood and flesh.
The gigantic body collapsed heavily onto the ground, shaking the entire battlefield.
Emma finally released a breath.
But before relief could spread—
Two terrifying auras exploded across the battlefield.Pressure descended instantly.
Every soldier froze.
The two dense presences rushed directly toward Frostvele’s walls.
“Enemy elites approaching!”
“Prepare an interception!”
Defensive weapons activated immediately.
SWOOSH!
A massive axe suddenly tore across the sky like a falling comet and slammed directly into one of the installed magical defense weapons.
The barrier lit up to cover but the axe cut through the barrier brutally.
BOOM!
Runes shattered instantly as the impact destroyed the mechanism, sending fragments flying across the wall.
Smoke rose as soldiers staggered backward.
From the battlefield below, two figures slowly stepped forward.
A towering man carrying a massive axe.
And beside him, a woman clad in demonic lion-hide armor, her presence wild and fearless.
“That’s some nasty weapon,” the woman said coldly while observing the destroyed Belphegor. “But it seems they take time to recharge. So what are you going to do now?”
Her mocking voice echoed across the battlefield.
Herios lifted his axe again, preparing another strike toward the wall.
But suddenly—
A beam of light shot out from behind Frostvele.
Herios reacted instantly and swung downward.
BOOOOOOM!
The axe collided with the incoming beam midair. The explosion shook heaven and earth.
Shockwaves blasted outward, forcing nearby demons to stumble backward. Even Herios was pushed several steps back, his boots carving deep trenches into the ground.
“Brother!” Kiea shouted anxiously.
Both demons turned toward the walls.
CRUNG!
A deep humming sound filled the air.
Space itself twisted.A glowing portal suddenly opened behind Frostvele’s defenses.
Light spilled outward.
From within it, a figure stepped forward slowly.
White hair moved gently under the cold wind. Calm blue eyes scanned the battlefield. His handsome face carried a relaxed expression, yet the armor covering his body radiated overwhelming authority.
The moment his foot touched the ground a frightening aura erupted outward.
The oppressive pressure released by the demon generals was instantly pushed back.
Soldiers felt that they could finally breathe in relief while demons instinctively stepped back.
Ethan looked toward the two demon generals and smiled faintly.
“Hohoho!”
“I hope I am not late to welcome some dear friends from the Demon Realm!”
