- Chapter 507:From Eldorian

The magic circles responded instantly. Chains of pure white energy exploded outward from the formations and shot through the air with precise and violent speed.
They wrapped around the dragon soul one after another, layer upon layer, each chain tightening and pulling inward as the soul fought against them with everything it had left. The roaring grew louder and then was cut short as the chains constricted fully and began to compress the struggling soul down into a single point of contained light.
The draconic crystal rose from the corpse on its own, drawn upward by the pull of the magic circles, and the chains forced the sealed soul inward through it until it disappeared completely inside. The crystal flared once with intense heat and then went quiet, pulsing with a deep and steady inner light.
She reached out and took it from the air and then turned and held it out toward Ethan.
“Here. Take it. I have locked the dragon essence and draconic soul inside it for your use,” she said.
Ethan did not take the crystal immediately.
He stared at it for a moment, then slowly lifted his gaze and looked at the woman again. His guard was still up, and although his face looked calm, his body remained tense and ready.
“Before I take that… shouldn’t I at least know who I am dealing with?” he said, his tone steady but cautious.
The woman paused.
For a brief second, she simply looked at him, as if measuring something deeper than just his words.
Then she smiled faintly.
“You are cautious. That is good.”
She lowered her staff slightly, and the pressure around her softened just a little.
“My name is Heliana.”
Her voice was calm, but it carried a quiet weight.
“As for who I am… I can’t reveal that now however…”
She flicked her fingers lightly.
A small token flew out and landed in Ethan’s hand.
“As long as you are in the Eldorian Empire, this token will be quite useful. After all, I am someone with strong backing.”
“No matter how big trouble you are in, I am confident in taking you out of it once you step in Eldoria.”
Ethan’s eyes narrowed slightly at her words, but he did not interrupt.
Instead, he looked down at the token in his hand for a brief moment, then shifted his gaze back to her.
He finally reached out and took the dragon crystal from her.
The moment his fingers touched it, he could feel the dense energy inside. The sealed dragon soul struggled faintly within, but it was completely suppressed.
He tightened his grip slightly.
“Lady Heliana…” he repeated quietly, as if memorizing it.
She tilted her head slightly.
“And you?”
“Ethan.”
He did not give anything more than that.
She did not press further.
A faint smile appeared on her face again.
“You are interesting, Ethan.”
Her eyes moved over him once more, not with greed this time, but with genuine curiosity.
“Very interesting.”
Ethan exhaled lightly, his shoulders relaxing just a bit.
“I will take that as a compliment.”
She let out a soft breath that almost sounded like a quiet laugh.
“It is.”
Then she raised her hand again and made a few strange symbols in the air.
The corpse of the dead dragon suddenly trembled.
Before Ethan could react, the massive body lifted slightly off the ground. A magic circle formed over its chest, glowing with layered patterns that were complex and hard to follow.
The chest tore open.
From within, a carefully protected heart, still faintly beating, was unearthed. It hovered in the air for a moment, surrounded by thin threads of energy.
Then it moved.
It flew toward Heliana and vanished into a small distortion in space.
Ethan’s eyes widened slightly.
‘A partial dimension…’
Gravity, ice, and now space.
That was an astonishing combination of spells.
Most mages only had two or three elements, and even those were usually basic.
Space, void, gravity, light, and darkness were considered special. There were more, but it was rare for someone to even have one of them.
Even Ethan, with the system, did not have that many.
‘Who knows how many tricks she has up her sleeve…’
Heliana looked up at the sky for a moment, then turned back to Ethan.
“This place will not remain stable for long,” she said calmly.
“The energy released here… it will attract attention.”
Ethan frowned slightly.
“I figured out that much.”
She gave a small nod.
“Then you should leave soon.”
She stepped back slightly and raised her staff again.
The space behind her began to distort.
A faint portal started forming, its edges glowing with soft purple light.
Before stepping in, she looked at him one last time.
“If fate allows, we will meet again.”
Her gaze lingered for a moment longer.
“And next time… I hope you are even stronger.”
Ethan met her eyes without backing down.
“…Next time, I won’t be this tired.”
That made her smile again.
“Good.”
She turned slightly, then paused.
“Oh, and Ethan…”
He looked at her.
“Be careful..”
Her tone became a little more serious.
“Careful…” Ethan’s brows furrowed.
“Of whom?”
“Of nobles of your Empire… You see, Arcadia isn’t as good as it looks,” she said, casting a faint teasing smile.
Ethan’s grip on the crystal tightened slightly, but his expression did not change.
“…I know.”
She nodded once.
Then she stepped into the portal.
SWISHH.
The light flickered, and her figure disappeared.
The portal closed immediately after, leaving the space quiet again.
Ethan stood there for a few seconds, staring at where she had been.
The wind moved slightly, carrying heat and ash across the battlefield.
Then he let out a long breath and lowered his shoulders a little.
“…What a troublesome person.”
He frowned slightly as he thought about her last words.
Was that a warning?
Or something else?
He could not tell.
He glanced at the dragon crystal in his hand, feeling the immense power sealed within it.
Then he turned his head toward the direction of his group.
