Chapter 1019: Kent Vs The Hell Flames (1)
[First Opponent – Primordial Abyssal Flame of Despair – Hell Lord: Morveth, the Despair Sovereign]
Right when Kent entered the Primordial Tower, the feeling of despair overwhelmed his senses. His surroundings changed, and then he found himself standing on a vast plain of black ash beneath an eternal twilight sky.
There were broken black pillars littered everywhere.
There were also broken weapons and bones everywhere. Most of these bones appeared to be buried in the ground, with only a few protruding partially through the dirt.
“Creepy,” Kent said, looking around him.
However, just when he was about to look for the Hell Flame, his sixth sense kicked in, allowing him to narrowly evade the chain that came for him.
But that wasn’t all.
Just when the chain struck the ground, an explosion with devastating might occurred, pushing Kent back. His body was consumed in a mushroom of despair, dust, and heat.
But before he could relax and examine what was happening, he sensed a powerful chain coming at him again.
’Annoying’
15,000 flame veins kicked in, and this time, he not only dodged but also saw where it was coming from.
So with a wave of his hand, a sword came from his Soul Universe and flashed at deadly speed toward the location from which the chain came.
CLANG
He heard a clang sound, and then the sword flew back. Kent caught it in a firm grip, watching as a figure slowly appeared from thin air.
He was a tall person, with a skeletal frame, violet eyes, and long black hair. His height was approximately 3 meters, indicating that he wasn’t an ordinary person.
This discovery didn’t change Kent’s expression.
However, upon seeing what the person was wearing, he could only smile. It was a robe woven from what appeared to be screaming shadows, a sigh that he was indeed the flame of Despair.
“So they managed to send someone to their death again,” Morveth, the human form of the Primordial Abyssal Flame of Despair, said with a chuckle.
“I don’t have much time, Mr., so if you have something to say, just say it before I kill you,” Kent said with a sigh.
The pressure coming from Morveth was even higher than the Monarchs he tamed in the Flame Sea. However, even with that discovery, he wasn’t at all feeling despair.
In fact, his expression was still the same, showing he wasn’t being pressured by a mere flame.
Morveth looked at Kent and laughed, “I believe this is what they call arrogance. But I like it, makes killing you fun.”
“So are those your last words?”
Morveth waved his hand, and thousands of chains manifested in the air and shot at Kent.
However, with a sigh, his body vanished, and then he appeared behind Morveth, his sword buried in his head.
“H-how?” Morveth asked, his expression bony and dark.
“I have flame veins, bitch.” With a twist, Morveth’s body died, and a flame seed appeared in the air. Kent grabbed it and tossed it into his Soul Universe.
On the outside, Gaap gasped, seeing what had just happened.
“That didn’t just happen, right?… Right?”
He wasn’t the only one taken aback. The white-bearded man was the same. He saw Kent move, but then, as if he teleported, the next time he appeared, he was standing behind Morveth.
“I guess he really has what it takes to handle them.” He smiled and then waved his hand, and a scroll appeared. The name, “Hell Flame Foundation Mantra,” was written on the back.
He held it firm in his grip, deciding if he should give it to Kent or not.
Meanwhile, inside the Primordial Hell Tower, a door appeared leading to the second floor. Kent walked in and appeared in the next Hell Flame domain.
—
[Second Opponent – Primordial Flame of Wrath – Hell Lord: Kaelzor, the Wrath Tyrant]
This time, Kent appeared in an endless battlefield with rivers of lava everywhere.
If he were an ordinary flame user, it would be a no man’s land for him; however, as he stood, gazing at his opponent, all Kent could feel was the intent to kill.
“So you killed Morveth,” Kaelzor, the humanoid form of the Primordial Flame of Wrath, said, a smug look on his lips.
He had a hulking body, with crimson skin marred by molten cracks across his arms and chest, and a fiery mane of hair.
“He was rather weak for a Primordial Flame,” Kent said, holding a sword in his firm grip.
“I guess you are right, but here is where you die.”
Kaelzor crossed his twin war axes, and then he slashed down, manifesting a flaming meteor in the air. The ground shook, and the air grew dense.
Kent narrowed his eyes when he saw the flaming meteor and felt the pressure bore down on him.
However, the next second, a smile appeared on his lips.
“Fake meteor. Why don’t I show you what a real meteor looks like?” He also slashed his sword, and a meteor, about half the size of the one Kaelzor manifested using his flame, appeared.
It fell with devastating force and blasted through the meteor that Kaelzor had manifested. Then still intact, he moved toward Kaelzor.
However, Kaelzor was an experienced warrior by the standard of a flame, so he launched an attack at the meteor.
“What an idiot.” Kent, however, allowed him to attack his meteor because, to him, the main attack was in the event that his meteor was destroyed by his opponent.
BOOM
A powerful soul attack was unleashed when Kaelzor’s attack blasted through the meteor. Kent stood with a smile on his face as the soul shockwave blasted past him.
Kaelzor coughed; however, no blood came simply because he had no blood. However, for a crimson-gold flame, he had become rather pale.
He became very weak, so Kent merely walked toward him and held his sword to his neck.
“No hard feelings.”
With a simple swing, the head came off. He stored the flame seed in his Soul Universe and entered the door leading to the third floor.

[Third Opponent – Primordial Flame of Agony – Hell Lord: Zariel, the Tormentor]
WHIP
Just when Kent appeared on the third floor, a whip came from behind him, sending a wave of power, one that caused Kent’s body to tremble.
Thankfully, he was using 15,000 flame veins, so he jumped into the air to evade.
However, while in the air, a figure appeared overhead, stabbing a spear toward his chest.
’Well played.’
Although he was in trouble, he couldn’t help but acknowledge the smartness deployed by Zariel, the Primordial Flame of Agony.
The attack was well-timed and executed.
’Too bad you met me.’ The soul map opened, and Kent vanished. In his place, a Tier 14 soul spirit appeared, and then BOOM, it exploded.
Zariel was blasted back, half his body gone.
“Sneak attacks don’t work on me, kid. I am the Faceless Assassin. I do the sneak attacks, not the other way round.”
His sword went through Zariel’s chest, and then the Primordial Flame of Agony seed appeared. He grabbed it, and then with a mere look, he tossed it into his Soul Universe.
“Looks like as I climb higher, their strength increases,” Kent noticed the change after nearly falling to Zariel’s sneak attack. Thankfully, he was prepared for anything, so he was able to survive.
The next door opened, and Kent walked in, appearing in the domain of Corruption. As soon as he stepped in, he began to sense his health depleting rapidly.
—
“This is where your luck ends, kid,” Gaap said, a smug smile on his face. The Primordial Flame of Corruption was one of the most dangerous Hell Flames in existence…
So, being exposed to it, it was only a matter of time before his health ran out.
However, the next second, his expression changed from smugness to shock…
