Chapter 795: Timeline shift [Bonus]
“Welcome back to Emberwood, Kent,” King Hkum said, shaking Kent’s hand the moment he and his team arrived in Emberwood.
Since Kent had been there before, he could now open the portal there at will without even the need to use the World Teleporter.
Of course, even without that, he could teleport there since he is their Guardian now. Being a guardian came with so many perks.
“It’s good to be back, King Hkum,” Kent responded, a smile playing on his lips. He could sense it; the king had become much stronger than the last time he was there.
“How is everyone?” Kent asked, noticing only the king around to welcome him.
“The Queen and the Princesses went to have some discussions with some of our allies. They will be back in a few days. As for the elders, they have gone to investigate a sudden rumour spreading through the orc alliance.”
“Oh, a rumor,” Kent raised his brow. He could already sense a conspiracy brewing on the horizon, and if what his instincts told him was true, then his legion would have so much fun here.
“Let’s talk inside,” the king proposed, and Kent nodded. He would want to know what was happening and make sure his legion settled in before leaving.
Soon, they were inside the throne room. Of course, his legion had already started roaming the city, for they’d been there before, and they were familiar with some of the Foxkins.
He settled down, and the king began to speak.
“About three weeks ago, rumors started spreading that a Pill Monarch had appeared in the land of the Orcs. According to the report, or rather, a rumor, the Pill Monarch is at the Heavenly Ascension stage and seems to have some connection with King Balma.
We don’t know if the reports are accurate, but a Pill Monarch coming from another world to ours isn’t something we can doubt, so I deployed the elders to go investigate.
If the reports are indeed accurate, then we will be facing much bigger odds than we already have on our hands.”
Kent nodded at the king’s words. If the rumors were indeed true, then the danger they’d be facing would be too much to handle.
Right now, Kent knew he couldn’t handle a Spirit Lord. Of course, Val could use her cheat to handle one. But even so, when it comes to Heavenly Ascension stage warriors, that becomes a different thing altogether.
Even in her Moon Goddess form, with her limited cultivation base, she would struggle, and at any moment, she might even lose.
So the danger is indeed severe on this front, and Kent could sense it.
Of course, aside from the fact that there is a potential Heavenly Ascension stage warrior on the side of the enemy, this one is also an alchemist.
Aside from his perhaps overpowered flame arts, he is a Pill Monarch, which means the time for the poison to be manually handled by the Orc king has been reduced.
Now, Kent can already see the bastard recovering in less than a year with the Pill Monarch’s help.
This means the moment he has recovered, he will come after the rebel alliance, and that will be catastrophic when King Hkum still hasn’t reached the peak of the Spirit Lord stage.
Aside from that, the other leaders of the Rebel Alliance are still sitting at the peak of the Spirit Sovereign stage.
This holds a clear indication that the endgame will be bad for them, and Kent can already see that happening.
“This is indeed bad.” Kent rubbed his hand and asked, “What about the Hellhounds and the Lions? Are they still fighting?”
“They stopped. However, they are still hostile toward each other, so the chances of them being a true team in the Orc Alliance will be slim. However, they don’t have to be a team to fight for the same cause.
However, thanks to their battle, their numbers have thinned down, so the threat that will come from there will be limited.”
“Good. I guess the plan worked better than I anticipated. Of course, the Orc Alliance remains stronger because it has the Orc King at its helm.
However, with the Lionkin and Hellhounds fractured, we can pick them apart. And I think I have the perfect team for it.
My team is currently going through a phase after their recent defeat, so they need a cause to reignite their battle spirit. That was why I brought them here.
For the next few weeks, they will train with the finest of your warriors. When they come to terms with their resolve, they will spend two more months here, going on a series of missions to further destabilize the ranks of the Hellhounds and the Lionkin.
That said, we have about a year before the Orc King recovers, so we have to start planning for it now. I will do what I can on my end to secure ways to handle whatever odds they may throw at us.
However, until then, use the next few months to find as many treasures from the list I provided and try to upgrade at least two of each of the Battle Dolls I gave you.
If you manage to get them to the level of a Spirit Emperor, that will play a massive role in the endgame. For now, continue to raise your strength level…
I will leave additional resources for you and your allies to utilize, further strengthening your ranks.”
King Hkum nodded at Kent’s words. “Thank you, Kent. Without you, by now, the Orcs would have long destroyed us.”
“Don’t worry about it. I am the guardian of this race, so I have to protect everyone at all costs.”
Kent went on to discuss a few things with the king. Later, he left to discuss the plans with his legion about their activities in Fedora.
Afterward, he checked up on Sword King Shawn, who, if things go well, will be able to bridge the gap in strength and give the rebel alliance a shot at winning.
He was currently at a stage where his foundation, as Dori described, had regressed to its basic level, and he was rebuilding it.
Once all that was done, not only would his foundation become unshakable, but he would also gain a better understanding of his sword path and be able to improve his sword realm.
The plan was rather simple. All he had to do was utilize his superior understanding of the sword to enhance his sword foundation, starting from the basics.
He was on that path and would soon become undisputed in the way of the sword.
The next few hours were spent giving the king all kinds of resources they would need to build their strength and even share with their allies.
In a way, their allies would believe them more, which Kent estimated would trigger the [Guardian Allies] and add more soul essence to his stockpile.
He also selected five warriors and added them to the [Guardian Hand]. They were given their own resources, and soon, Kent knew he would start seeing significant improvements from them.
If he wanted to bridge the gap between him and the Spirit Lords, then he must build his soul universe, making it much more potent for when he truly needs it.
When all that was done, he left and headed back to the tower to handle his own business. He had five days outside and 120 days in the tower. That’s a long time to accomplish a great deal.
