Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System - Chapter 873: Time To Hunt

Chapter 873: Time To Hunt
With Adina and Iver gone, Kent was all alone.
He first left the teleportation mountains, knowing full well that the beam of light from Adina’s teleportation would alert all those searching for her.
While he would love to greet them, he knew with his two teammates gone, he had to be cautious, so he first chose to find a safe place.
He used his demi-dragon form, so he was several miles away before the first team that caught sight of the sudden beam from the teleportation arrived.
When he was far enough away, he sat down on a large stone and took out eight cores, each pulsing with energy.
From the Vine Forest to the teleportation mountains, they had killed eight more beasts, making eight cores in total, and he planned on absorbing all before the hunt resumes.
Kent didn’t want to absorb them all back then simply because his primary mission was to send Adina to safety, so he kept them.
Now that he was alone and could do as he wished, he chose to absorb all and see if he would form his core.
He started to absorb the first of the eight cores, already aiming for something good. After an hour, when the first core was fully absorbed, he indeed smiled, feeling some changes happen to his body.
He continued with the second core, and soon, only the last core was left.
Kent was more than happy with the changes happening to him. However, when the last core was absorbed and he still hadn’t formed his core, his mood dampened a bit.
“Looks like Bhaal was wrong in his calculation. I need more than ten beast cores to form my core. However, this isn’t a bad thing. He said the more core I took to form my core, the stronger I would become.”
Kent entered his soul space, and truth be told, some portions of the soul sea were still golden in color.
However, the majority of the sea had turned red like blood, and the primal chaos energy emanating from it was filled with the metallic stench of blood.
It was overwhelming, and he could feel it; his strength, speed, and stamina had reached a level he never knew possible just a few days ago.
Now, he knew that if he were to face Spirit Lords below level five, killing them wouldn’t be a problem. He could even tell those below level eight wouldn’t pose a threat to him.
Even if he can’t kill them, he would be able to escape with his life.
The only thing left now was to be able to face more than one Spirit Lord and kill them. That is the dream, and he wasn’t planning on using sneak attacks to accomplish that.
“With my ’Flame Wheels,’ I will be able to run circles around the Spirit Lords. But I still need to form my core just to be sure that my abilities will be enough to kill any spirit lord beast I meet.”
Kent exited his soul sea and stood up.
“Though Iver said his world had recently reached the Great High World Level, I can’t underestimate them.
If these were warriors from a Supreme High World, I would have long left this place, but a Great High World — I suppose we will find out who will be running.”
“Soul Map.”
Kent activated the soul map, and the 15,000 miles around him became clear to him.
His smile spread across his face when he saw it. “They are like fish caught inside a net. I suppose my net has grown wide now.”
Looking at the beasts and mercenary teams inside the soul map, he felt like a god. “I can sneak up on them and kill them before they even sense me.”
“Iver even said, if I have the means, I should eliminate as many teams as I can. I dont know why he said that, but since I need souls to be able to refine the wings of the lightning hawk, I can only claim these. After all, they came after me first.”
With his excuse in motion, Kent planned to kill the three mercenary teams that were within his soul map before getting back to hunting beasts to complete his core.
—
[First Target: The Iron Vultures]
The first team Kent picked was made up of 26 members, with the strongest being a level 9 Spirit Lord.
The team consisted of orcs, humans, and goblins. The leader of the team was a human with many tribal face tattoos. He held a machete, and judging by the scars on his body, he had been in many battles.
“Kasper, were you able to get any information from your birds?” the leader asked an orc who held a device in his hand, humming a sound.
Close attention would reveal he was listening to the sound of the wind.
Hearing his leader’s question, Kasper shook his head.
“Nothing yet, leader. However, I have my suspicions that the beam of light was the girl we were sent to capture.”
“We can’t know for sure, so let’s keep looking for—”
The leader stopped speaking and just stood there, causing his team members to wonder why he had stopped mid-sentence.
However, the next second, he fell back and landed hard on the ground.
“What?” Those close to him rushed to his side; however, when they saw the blood coming from his forehead, they backed away and drew their swords.
“Too late.”
Kent spoke as two thin swords zipped through the air with a speed most couldn’t track.
However, even those who managed to track them couldn’t defend against the attack, feeling the sharp swords tear holes in their heads.
Within five seconds, the last of the Iron Vultures mercenaries lay dead on the ground, their souls captured into the soul flag.
“That was easy enough.”
[The master only won because he caught them unaware. However, with the master’s cultivation base, he had indeed accomplished a remarkable feat.
But I would like to remind the master that his goal is to kill an immortal before reaching the Spirit Lord stage.]
Kent smiled. “Though the first half of your statement sounded like you weren’t impressed with my achievement, I suppose the last part was enough for me to forgive you.”
[The master is the best, as always.]
The tower, of course, decided to make Kent happy.
Kent smiled and then, after performing some minor rituals, he went after the next team using the same tactic on them.
His plan was simple: he would kill the leader first, and when the team became distracted for a fraction of a second, he would attack.
It was a brilliant plan, and it worked well for him. When he faced the second team, he even managed to exchange a few words with them.
However, with the shock they felt when their leader died, they weren’t able to act, allowing Kent to kill them.
With his mental strength currently at an all-time high, he could control a maximum of ten swords without putting too much stress on his mind.
When he was done with the last team, he focused on the beasts.
Forming his core was of utmost importance, so he wanted to get as many cores as he could using both sneak attacks and the power of his soul sea now brimming with energy.
