Chapter 882: Miracle City, The Quest
“This place is beautiful,” Kent said as they approached the grand city gate.
It stood 4 km tall with the frame made purely out of gold, and the main gate was also made from an enchanted metal.
The guards standing at the gate wore golden armor forged from one of the most durable metals in the universe.
Kent scanned the surroundings, and all he could see was beauty and luxury. He made the tower start taking note of the architecture and design for when he would be building his next city.
Ander studied Kent’s expression and smile. He knew Kent was indeed new to this place, and that alone made him trust him even more.
He had a good time chatting with Kent on the way to Miracle City, so seeing this side of him made him see Kent in a new light.
“I am sure you would love this place, Jest. The city has more than enough to offer, and as a first-timer on Planet Menelaus, you couldn’t have picked a better city to appear in.”
Kent smiled. “I should thank my master for sending me here, then.”
“Don’t worry, you will get more than enough things to buy gifts to thank your master when you get back.”
“I am looking forward to that.”
Kent smiled and then looked out the window, noting the two guards outside had long approached the city guards at the gate and were sorting things out with them.
“Don’t worry. Since you are with me, they will allow us to enter without any trouble.”
True to his words, when the guards returned, they started leading the carriage inside. Soon, they passed through the grand tall gate and entered the city.
The moment they entered, Kent felt the healing and unique smell of medicinal essence assault his nose.
“Haha,” Ander smiled. “Miracle City—just breathing the air is enough to heal and calm your stressed body down.”
The city is filled with healers, and the most common commodity transported there is herbs, so there is always the scent of medicine in the air.
Just by breathing it, one might find the cure for their sickness. It is even common for most cultivators to come to high cultivation rooms to cultivate the medicine since it heals and strengthens them.
“The king in this city is a Life Emperor whose healing abilities are out of this world. He can heal almost any sickness he sets his sight on.
In fact, he has already been recognized as the King of Life by the Empress, the supreme ruler of this world. This recognition alone makes him one of the most respected kings in this world.”
Ander was in the sharing mood, so he started giving Kent some information as they rode the carriage into the city, passing by many stores, restaurants, inns, and more.
The stores mainly sell healing herbs.
Kent, who has a wife whose healing magic had already reached the Sage level—just two levels away from reaching the Life Emperor stage—smiled, knowing that if he wanted, he could just ask her a thing or two, just so he could have a good time while in Miracle City.
After all, he planned to relax and have some fun in this Miracle City.
Kent looked at Ander and smiled. “Thank you for telling me this. If possible, I would love to at least see this king before leaving for the next kingdom.”
Ander nodded, though he knew telling Kent his dreams might not come to pass would be too harsh, so he merely smiled.
“I will be heading to the Array Headquarters to handle some business. And then I will go to the healing Guild to handle yet another business”
“In that case, you can drop me off at the nearest restaurant.” Ander nodded and took out a communication tablet, handing it to Kent.
“You can reach me on that whenever you come to Basel City.” After a few minutes’ ride, Kent found himself standing in front of a restaurant.
“Happy Day Restaurant, huh?” Kent smiled and then decided to grab a bite before figuring out his next move.
He was in this world to deliver the wandering Demon Swordman’s head to the Olive Sword Guild in Lison City, the capital of Planet Menelaus.
However, since he wanted to have some fun, he planned to at least get a feel of this world before getting back to the sect.
After all, he planned on knowing something about this world before sending Old Sword, his sworn brother, over.
The moment Kent entered the restaurant, a lady approached him with a polite smile. “Welcome, young man. How may we be of service?”
Kent smiled. “It is my first time in this city, so I plan on enjoying the dishes at the top of your menu.”
“Hehe, a food enthusiast, I see. In that case, follow me to the best table we have. Since you want our best, we might as well set you at the best table.”
Kent didn’t want to say it, but the lady was a charmer. Kent’s smile widened. “Who am I to turn down such an offer from a beauty such as yourself?”
She led Kent through rows of tables to a corner table where he could overhear everything without looking too suspicious.
“We will be here with your orders soon. For now, enjoy this freshly juiced drink from freshly picked berries personally attended to and grown by a Life King.”
Kent nodded and took a sip of the berry juice, making sure he savored the taste like a food critic. A smile appeared on his face, making the lady smile back and walk away.
A few seconds after she left, Kent opened the Soul Map, restricting it to only the restaurant.
He looked at everything happening, but his attention was immediately drawn to a conversation between two slightly older men eating a plate of roasted pork.
“I can’t believe over ten thousand healers and Enigmancers couldn’t solve the Puzzle posted by the Life Emperor,” one said.
“I know, right? The last time the Life King set a puzzle was when those bandits poisoned the King of Huckby City. But even back then, he managed to find someone whose knowledge was enough for the task in just two weeks.
However, it has already been three months, and nobody has been able to solve it. At this rate, I’m not sure anyone will be able to solve it.”
“Very sad. The Life Emperor is someone who specializes in healing magic, not puzzles. If he had the means, I’m sure he wouldn’t have even put up a puzzle calling all Healers and Enigmancers from the Alliance planets.”
As if that was enough for Kent, the tower beeped, signaling a quest. Kent smiled slightly, pulling the details.
