Chapter 994: The Fourth Floor – Church Of Destruction (8)
“Weaklings”
Sylara’s claw dug into the throat of one of the minions of the demon god of destruction, tearing and pulling his oesophagus out.
“Maybe you are not weak. Maybe it is your god that is weak.”
Sylara planned on battling the three Heavenly Ascension stage warriors, but a couple of seconds into their clash, they sensed that Veydris was dangerous, so they ignored her, making the Vampire demoness pissed.
So tapping into her anger, the Spirit Lords and those below were now at her mercy. They outnumbered her by hundreds, but she wasn’t in any way worried.
Sylara’s nature allows her to become her strongest in the presence of blood.
As long as there is blood, she will become nearly invincible. So with blood flowing all around her, both her speed and strength had been amplified.
And with the Blood Hunger seal burning, she was practically burning her life force for strength.
Naturally, she was now several times stronger, and looking at how fast she was moving, by the time her 12-minute power-up runs out, she will kill her fair share.
Veydris, however, was blocked, but as a metallic warrior, no one could read his expression and know how he was faring.
However, one thing was certain: Veydris was out of his league against the three Heavenly Ascension stage warriors facing him. However, he had created the situation where killing him would take considerable time.
Naturally, none of the demon god’s followers knew what was happening to Neomi, and it had already been four minutes since the start of the battle.
Of course, their god could not tell them anything until after 10 minutes. So despite him sensing the presence of a god, he was helpless at the moment.
Neomi sat, and Velyra stood guard behind her, waiting for her goddess to finish with what she was doing.
In the past, she was the saintess of their tribe. She was the one who saw to it that prayers and sacrifices were offered to their goddess, the mother of killers.
Even now, she still believed in her and would forever believe in her.
So standing guard for her was an honour.
Exactly five minutes into the awakening, Neomi opened her eyes, and a wave of divine energy exploded out of her body.
“Praise to Shara, the mother of killers.”
Velyra said this with a respectful look on her face.
“You know you don’t have to do that, right? You are my sister.”
“I know.” Velyra smiled, “However, I want to. Even though I don’t know how, you have helped me on many occasions in the past, and as such, my faith in you has deepened to the point I cannot change who I am just because we are now sisters.”
Neomi felt touched hearing such deep words from her sister. She could tell Velyra had complete trust in her, and that alone opened a feeling she never knew she could have for a female.
She walked close to Velyra and gently kissed her forehead.
When she pulled back, a tattoo of two daggers crossed appeared on Velyra’s forehead. Neomi then pressed her finger on Velyra’s forehead and muttered a couple of words.
“For your trust and belief in me, and your dedication to walking the road of killers, I hereby bestow my power on you. Take it and use it to protect those you care about.”
In an instant, Velyra felt like she could crush stars with a mere snap of her fingers.
However, a second later, the feeling reduced to her now feeling like she could kill a Spirit King with a mere slap.
“I have given you 80% of my power, but because it is too much for you, I sealed it. You will have access to it when you reach the Spirit King stage.
Use it whenever you want, but don’t use more than 1% within 48 hours, else you will explode.”
“This-” Velyra was in shock, unsure of how to handle her new power-up. Tears fell down her face.
Neomi wiped away her tears, then, planting another kiss on her forehead, before looking toward the battlefield.
“Why don’t we fight together while I am still the Mother of Killers?”
“Mmm,” Velyra nodded like a little girl meeting Santa for the first time.
Neomi pulled out her two daggers, and Velyra pulled out her sword and charged toward the battlefield.
“Nicely done, Neomi. Though the price you will be paying now will be much steeper,” Vexthra said, but she seemed happy about how Neomi handled Velyra.
The two ladies soon arrived on the battlefield, changing the scene.
“Veydris, get on with your task quickly,” Neomi ordered, and Veydris vanished into the void. Neomi took his place.
“Killing Circle.” She threw her dagger, which circled around her and the three Heavenly Ascension warriors. A red circle formed, and with that, she was locked in with them, only coming out either when she died or she killed them all.
Velyra, however, moved and was soon in front of the church.
The two Heavenly Ascension stage warriors standing guard moved to step toward her. However, before they could reach her, she activated a movement technique that utilized the power of blood, something abundant on the battlefield.
“Swap.”
Velyra vanished, and Sylara took her place. With that, Velyra has finally stepped into the blood, which rose and formed into armor around her.
She and Sylara swapped places, and with that, she willed the blood on the ground to fight for her.
“Blood Bullets.”
Screams of pain filled the space as thousands of bullets began drawing holes in the demon god’s followers.
Five minutes later, Vexthra smiled.
“This battle is as good as done.” She looked up at the sky as if staring at someone. “Oh, what wouldn’t I give to see the constipated look on Balmos’ face right now.”
Veydris entered the church and, while he was instructed to destroy the main statue, he started destroying them all.
Soon, however, he arrived before the main target.
In that moment, thunder rocked the heavens, but before it could descend, Veydris severed the head of the statue, cutting off the lightning.
Balmos was a second too late.
It was a coincidence, but Veydris sure made sure the strike happened when Balmos had hope of turning things around.
With their support cut off, the battle ended a couple of minutes later, with Kaizo landing the last blow.
He was waiting for the moment when Veydris would sever the god’s connection to the church. So when Vexthra gave them the order to attack, he didn’t hesitate.
—
Somewhere in the god realm, a dark-haired, dark-horned, and rather ugly man slammed his fist on a table, causing an entire mountain to shatter into powder.
“Who dares attack and kill my followers? Do they have a death wish?”
Balmos, the demon god of destruction, screamed, his voice spreading over the planet he was in. He waved his hand; a portrait of Neomi appeared.
“Somebody…”
A second didn’t even pass as a figure appeared before him and knelt down.
“I want you to spread this image. Whoever can identify and point us in the right direction will receive 1 million God Crystals and a God-Grade technique of their choice.
Those who can deliver her head will become direct disciples under me for 20,000 years”
“Yes, my lord.” The person left, and Balmos continued to fume.
“If I don’t kill you, then I am not Balmos.”
—
Somewhere in the past, Kent, who was flying toward the domain of the Lotus Empress, narrowed his eyes.
’Hmm, some idiot is tired of living, so he wants to die. Well, I will gladly send you packing if you dare lay a finger on what is mine.’
