Primordial Villain With A Slave Harem - Chapter 1195: Rosie’s Truth

Chapter 1195: Rosie’s Truth
“But things changed the moment Yoruha arrived. My role as your guardian demanded rapid growth to match the scale of the new threat that she could possibly pose. In my weak state, I could not fulfill my duty of protecting you; thus, I broke the limits of my existence and began stealing in unmatched quantities from Thalorind itself.”
Quinlan’s eyes narrowed as he looked at her. “I thought you were… weak. A low-level youngster.”
Rosie giggled, patting his head lightly with a tiny hand. “Papa… you’re cute when you’re innocent. Guess my level!”
Quinlan pondered with a small smirk tugging at his lips despite his disbelief. “Maybe… 25? Considering how many monsters you said you’ve already taken down?”
Pat-pat-pat.
Rosie giggled again.
“35?” Quinlan tried, unsure if he wanted to risk it.
Another pat.
She beamed. “I don’t just take from monsters, Papa. I take from Thalorind itself.”
“50?”
Pat-pat-pat.
Quinlan’s vein throbbed. “Are you telling me my newborn daughter is stronger than me?!”
“Hehe~” Rosie cooed, unfazed.
Then she raised a fist into the air, “Not stronger, Papa is the strongest!” After which came a sly smirk, “But I am indeed higher level.”
“… 60?”
Pat-pat-pat.
“… 65?”
Another pat.
“Seventy?!”
“Bingo!” Rosie flexed her non-existent muscles, puffing up like a tiny powerhouse.
Quinlan’s jaw dropped. “Where… where is all that power hiding?”
Rosie giggled again, patting his forehead. “It’s not hiding. It’s just… untapped. Until someone attacks you, my powers are dormant.”
Quinlan groaned, both exasperated and thoroughly impressed, as Rosie’s smugness radiated from her tiny frame. The patting, the teasing, the unapologetic pride… it was infuriating… and somehow telling him that this was indeed his daughter. He would’ve acted in the exact same manner if their places were to be swapped.
“You’re impossible…” He couldn’t hide the smallest trace of a proud smile.
“Hehe~” Rosie giggled while bouncing lightly in his grip. “But Papa loves me anyway!”
But soon, Quinlan’s brow furrowed as he processed Rosie’s words.
He leaned back in his chair. “You said your powers remain dormant until something attacks me. Then why didn’t you evolve to accompany me into battle? You know the dangers I face aren’t trivial. If you were my guardian, shouldn’t you come with me?”
Rosie shook her head vigorously, so much so that her leafy hair was whipping in the air. “I am not your babysitter!” Her voice was firm, tinged with a rare seriousness that contrasted with her usual attitude.
“Facing danger is how you grow. Big threats… they speed up growth, open new possibilities, and let you reach potentials you couldn’t otherwise. My job isn’t to stand beside you in battle, it’s to protect your home, your lands, your people…”
She paused for a moment, letting the weight of her words settle. “I protect you while you sleep. I protect you when something is too strong to be a meaningful challenge for you. That’s my job.”
Quinlan nodded slowly. “I see… then Sel’Ashra. When she attacked, it was Mimi’s job to help me?”
Rosie’s tiny chest puffed with pride. “Yes. But it wasn’t simple.”
She looked down, tracing a finger along the hem of her dress. “When you suddenly returned with your soul realm from the Zhenwu trial, I ran into a grave problem. Your soul realm… it isn’t somewhere I can plant my tree. It exists inside your head. To anchor it there, I would’ve had to uproot myself, give up my role as your guardian outside the soul realm, and I panicked.”
Quinlan’s lips parted as he realized the scale of her dilemma.
“Then Lysandra arrived,” Rosie continued, her eyes widening with the memory. “Or… rather, her corpse. She had a unique potential because she’s a denizen of Zhenwu, outside of the soul ecosystem. I planted my powers into the corpse and entrusted her with my will. That’s how Mimi was created.”
Her small hands curled into fists. “She is the guardian of the place I can’t reach! I couldn’t leave your world unprotected, and I couldn’t intervene inside your soul realm. So Mimi exists to fill that gap. She protects where I cannot, and I protect where Mimi cannot. Together we now once again cover everything.”
Quinlan’s jaw tightened. Admiration and awe were visible across his face. His mind raced, realizing just how careful and far-sighted Rosie had been. Not a Geim, not a simple guardian… she was a self-made network of protection, a force beyond anyone’s comprehension.
He exhaled slowly. “You really planned all of this. You weren’t just surviving, you were calculating, growing, anticipating every possibility…”
Rosie nodded as a mischievous glint appeared in her eyes again. Her cutesy voice and manner of speech returned. “Of course, Daddy! Rosie is the firstborn daughter of the Great Quinlan Elysiar! She refuses to be a disappointment!”
Quinlan couldn’t hide a smirk, though it was mixed with exasperation.
Rosie giggled softly, patting his head again. “Hehe~ Don’t worry! You’re still the strongest, after all. No adorable and loving daughter would trample all over the masculinity of her father.”
“… Whatever shall I do with you?” Quinlan shook his head with a smirk tugging at his lips despite her rather smug attitude. The tiny powerhouse in his arms had once again reminded him just how much he underestimated her… and how impossibly clever, devoted, and dangerous she truly was.
“So what about Mimi? If Serika learns she’s an extension of your will, she will be very sad.”
Rosie shook her head with immense force. “Mimi is my creation, but not my minion! She has her own persona, derived from her soul! I did not influence her in any way! That’s why she is akin to a true newborn; I refused to impart my experiences and knowledge into her despite it being a tradition for Geims. I knew it might influence who she is and who she becomes. Without such influence, she will grow to become the person she was meant to be.”
She looked into his eyes with a bit of hurt, looking angry that he even thought she’d do such a thing.
“That’s my daughter.”
“Hehe! Indeed!”
As the two teens began their trials, King Alexios received quite the alarming news.
