Chapter 498: Ultimate Breakout (13/13)
“Damn the Regalons!”
“Yes, I am willing!”
“Stop the Regalons. Since they are bent on destroying this world with us, let’s give our all to destroy them.”
“They are disappearing.”
“I don’t sense the geneline connection anymore.”
“Are we really going to be immortal?”
“Who the hell cares?! If Regalons succeeds, we are going to die anyway.”
But these fools didn’t know that they went right into Grimworld Tree’s trap.
If Almond and Lily actually succeeded in blasting a way out, this would also give other people a chance at life because they had a chance to get out and enter Grimverse.
But if they ’become immortal’ now to support Grimworld in stopping Almond and Lily, their fate was sealed.
They just died the most gruesome death because Grimworld was literally devouring their raw energy and refining their souls.
Technically, it was right according to Grimverse because it was indeed making those people immortal.
It would remember each and every one of them until its death. They essentially became one with it.
’More.’
Grimworld Tree was watching Almond and Lily preparing their move while measuring its own power gathering from people pressing [ Yes ] in the notifications.
’This is not enough.’
Grimworld Tree showed Almond and Lily on the screen to everyone.
The phenomenon around them was destructive and powerful, as both of them floated in the bubble of void while a whirling destruction enveloped them.
Anything within 2.7 kilometers of them was instantly destroyed. They were in the toughest structure of the Grimworld, the tower, but it was getting erased around them.
This sphere was just the side effect of Almond and Lily exerting their full power and preparing their move.
In front of their swords, an exotic mass of energy, like a mix of flickering and flowing lighting of multi-color, which was in a constant, fluctuating, formless shape.
“What the hell?! They are really destroying the world.”
“They are gathering such formidable power. If they release that…”
“Why are they so powerful?!”
[ Three minutes or less remain until they launch their attack. I need more power to stop them. ]
Everyone received a message from Grimworld before the prompt of [ Yes ] — [ No ] appeared.
Many people didn’t hesitate anymore.
The world around them was getting destroyed as well.
“The end is near.” A five year old child with clarity and sadness in his eyes said while looking in the rift.
“If Almond and Lily succeeded, we’d all die?” the child’s father, an Elite God, muttered. His eyes filled with despair and uncertainty.
“Fuck this.” Nearby, an old man cursed out aloud and vanished, having pressed [Yes].
Suddenly, everything shook.
A sharp and intense shot of fear seeped into every single living being in the Grimworld.
Everyone collectively saw eight terrifying eyes in their vision, overlapping everything else, flickering with dread and terror.
All that was alive in the Grimworld froze into absolute horror.
And then, they heard a voice.
[ Almond and Lily are creating a way out of this already doomed world. Grimworld doesn’t give a shit about you. It just wants to contain Regalons and some selected individuals to make them their slaves. ]
[ That’s the truth. Get ready to get out once those two make a path. Of course, those with less than three brain cells can go ahead and become immortal. We won’t miss you. ]
With the breaking of the world, Levi had unsealed herself and could use her powers.
“W-Who was that?”
“That voice…”
“It sounded like a girl…”
“It was so scary…like drowning in a sea of fear.”
“What should I do?”
People were uncertain.
Deep down, some of them also had doubts.
Grimworld said they would become immortal.
But after everyone who pressed [ Yes ] disappeared, their relatives could no longer feel any type of connection.
And now, this new voice told them something different.
Something convincing.
’What?!’
’No! Don’t stop!’
Grimworld was furious.
People were not pressing [ Yes ]
It had only absorbed 23% of people so far!
It was getting an increase of 1% per minute, but now it was reducing fast!
It was already at 0.4% in the next minute!
Eight eyes appeared before Almond and Lily, and everyone who was watching the screens was startled. Many involuntarily felt terrified, as the experience was still fresh.
’Hurry up.’ Levi relayed to Almond and Lily. ’Four minutes left.’
The mass of multi-colored lightning between them twisted into something sharper, hungrier.
It began to take shape—not the shape of any ordinary weapon, but the silhouette of a singularity’s edge, the very concept of “cutting” crystallized into reality.
The seven conceptual blades within him, one that he just manifested while observing destruction around him—essence edge, thought severer, time cutter, defense breaker, reality shearer, soul slicer, fate divider—merged and spiraled into one impossible edge. It wasn’t a sword anymore. It was The One Grim Blade—an Infexotic Force that could carve through infinity itself.
The air around it didn’t just split—it forgot it had ever been whole. Patterns of black, white, and dark gold ignited into an intricate, shifting geometry, each symbol a newborn flickering law that realized from the power being birth.
Beside him, Lily’s Silent Edge of Corvalis glowed like the arterial flow of a god’s death, each of her Six Marks of Doom wrapped around the blade and bleeding into Almond’s Infexotic construct. She recently manifested her sixth mark by observing the phenomena around them.
The marks didn’t sit on the weapon—they nested inside it, like venom inside a predator’s fang.
The void bubble around them began to collapse inward from their combined will, feeding the attack instead of resisting it. Space, time, and cause strained like frayed rope under too much weight.
Everything was twisting in pure perception in every living being’s perception.
And then, Almond and Lily exchanged a glance.
“Obliterate.”
“Everything.”
For a heartbeat, the world became pure light—an all-consuming brilliance that erased shadow, shape, and sound. Then came the roar, a mountainous collapse of air that shattered the sky into jagged rifts of color. The ground tore apart in colossal spirals, continents groaning as molten veins of the planet surged upward, staining the heavens in red-gold fury.
Everything near the epicenter, thousands of kilometers away, was gone.
Almond and Lily were wrapped in their powers, witnessing everything.
Farther out, mountains lay flattened like toppled pillars, seas had fled from their basins, and the horizon wavered under the haze of impossible heat.
In the heart of the devastation, reality twisted. Threads of space curled inward, weaving into a shimmering, pulsating bubble of warped glass and starlit ink. It caught them mid-motion, locking the fragments of their forms in weightless suspension.
At the center of the bubble, Almond and Lily floated, and right below them, reality became liquid, exposing a yawning void threaded with auroras of god-metal and obsidian lightning, birthing out of something…some will.
Almond felt something. ’Inexotic Force is will-based…don’t tell me.’
Suddenly, Almond heard a voice in his head. Unfamiliar, but sounding carefree. However, the voice hid something Almond could not perceive.
[ Nice one, lad. This power is quite handy. It could perfectly merge with my Voidspace. ]
’Who are you?’
[ John Wicked. Now, listen carefully. I am in a battle against a bunch of assholes, and a Grimlord is going to be on my ass soon because I killed his son. I can’t bring you with me, so I am going to send you someone’s territory in Grimverse. Levi will go with you. ]
’Master, no! Why?! I want to come to you!’
[ Straight answer, Levi. You are weak. We were separated for thousands of years, so you are significantly weaker than Alfred and others right now. I am sending you with them so you can also get stronger. You remember Rihika and her brother? They were having a bit of trouble with their newly acquired territory, so sending Regalons there is perfect. They can become residents there and progress. ]
[ Almond, Lily, you should feel a connection to a power resonating with this bubble. Pull it up and channel it into your bubble. Save people if you want to. ]
’Got it.’
Almond and Lily felt it and controlled it. Instantly, the bubble expanded to thousands of kilometers big.
People were dying, but those at the Deity level could still use their power to stay in defensive domes.
But at most, they could only remain like a leaf in a raging current amidst a storm.
In the next moment, Almond and Lily waved their hands, saving people as thousands began teleporting into the bubble every second.
[ It will launch in ten seconds. Good luck and have fun. Levi, take care of them and guide them. ]
’R-Roger, Master…’
[ Don’t cry. I’ll come there soon. It won’t take long for me to get myself out of this entanglement. ]
