Chapter 512: Golden Void Outlaws (7/7)
A vast dome of drowned stone, illuminated by streaks of lightning churning within the waters above. At the heart, floating upon a throne of tide, was the guardian: a leviathan of stormflesh and abyssal scales, a creature with four eyes burning like suns beneath the sea. Its body coiled through the chamber, every movement dragging tidal waves across the flooded ground.
The compass shattered. The ten runes dissolved into the altar. The guardian awakened fully, its roar tearing the waters into violent spirals.
[Tiderend Guardian Awakened.]
Its maw split open. A torrent of stormlight spewed forth—enough force to crush an army.
But Regalons were no army. They were blades honed for slaughter.
“Move!” Almond’s command cut through the roar.
Marcus, Theo, and Liam initiated defenses, diverting the powerful torrent.
’Care. This guardian is powerful. An undefended attack will instantly kill us.’
Silvester blurred forward, carving sigils of counter-force with his sword
Rudra leapt high, fists crashing into the guardian’s eye, collapsing it into a whirlpool of gore while Viktor aided by unleashing eternal frost punches.
The leviathan thrashed, splitting the waters into dozens of raging serpents of storm. Kira danced through them like a shadow, her katana cutting throats that weren’t there.
Arjun’s arrows drilled into the beast’s second eye, exploding with devouring sun flames. Hiroshi and Liang pinned one massive coil to the altar with their moves, tearing a shriek from the monster.
Lily spread her arms. Her chakrams split into a constellation of black crescents, cutting through every thrashing tide and inflicting debuffs on everything to reduce their speed and power.
The guardian shrieked as its scales peeled away.
And Almond—
He walked forward, step by step, ignoring the surging waters as if the abyss bent to his will. Both blades lifted. Void-silver shimmered with the weight of inevitability.
The guardian lunged.
Almond’s blades carved downward.
The cut was not a strike—it was a sentence. The chamber itself split in two, the beast’s body unraveling into ribbons of storm and silence. Its four eyes shattered into fragments of lightning that faded like dying stars.
Silence fell.
The altar blazed with oceanic radiance. The storm condensed, drawing into the shape of a core—an engine of pulsing light, a heart forged from tide and thunder.
[Tiderend Heart Engine Acquired.]
The waters calmed. The chamber steadied.
Lily exhaled, her voice quiet, but edged with triumph as she smiled. “Our first mystic power acquired.”
Almond closed his blades and slid them back into their sheaths. His eyes lingered on the Tiderend Heart Engine.
[Mystic Power Acquired: Tiderend Heart Engine.]
-Effect: Vastly improved speed and maneuverability. Reduced energy consumption.
-Unlocks ability: Tide Surge Boost (A).
At the corner, they saw a special shop appear.
“Is that the shop that gives different items? Let’s check it out.” Natalia grinned. “We got a lot of Pirate Points.”
Pirate Points: 213,400
The group moved towards the shop, and a hologram displaying the items sprang up.
— Pristine Crystal of Stat Points: 200k Pirate Points.
— Crystal of Stat Points: 100k Pirate Points.
— Grim Tree Nurturing Chance: 300k Pirate Points.
— Grim Weapon Modifier: 100k Pirate points.
Everyone was surprised.
Pristine Crystal of Stat Points gave 150k stat points.
Crystal of Stats Points gave 50k stat points.
Grim Tree Nurturing Chance seemed to be something that only Grim Student and above can buy.
Grim Weapon Modifier was something that allowed them to modify their Grim Weapons.
“It looks like we’ll need to gather a lot more pirate points to improve.”
“Yeah. Let’s install this mystic power in the ship and continue.”
“We need to acquire more titles. They boost the stat points directly by percentage.”
“For titles…i suppose we’ll have to do something that most people don’t do.”
“We specialize in that.”
…
The Eltuvaine outside roared in resonance, its hull glowing as veins of golden-blue spread through its body. The ship’s sound deepened into a predator’s growl, echoing across the island.
Regalons stepped back onto the deck, blood still clinging to their armor, eyes lit with triumph.
Almond placed a hand on the railing, feeling the new power thruming in this ship.
“With this, our travelling speed has increased significantly.” Almond smiled.
“Tide Surge Boost. It releases chaotic tides all around the ship that destabilize other ships while speeding up ours. It’s pretty good,” Lily said.
“Let’s continue collecting more Mystic Powers and Pirate Points before buying resources.” Admiral Rudra nodded. “This mystic power event was only limited to Grim Students, but the War of the Overlord Ocean has powerful Grim Adventurers and Grim Nobles. If we want to survive against them, we’ll need more Mystic Powers.”
…
Many groups died at the hands of Regalons.
All of those groups consisted of Grim Students and lower-rank powerhouses. After reviving, they went to the sanctuary island to rest and prepare for their next sailing.
Most importantly, they wanted to know who the heck those people were who killed them so easily.
It was clear that all of them were Grim Residents from their aura, but their combat power didn’t make sense!
“Hey, who are those people wearing that identical mask with different symbols on the cheeks?”
“Those masked people were fucking crazy. They killed us so fast.”
“Who are those masked people?”
“Apparently, they are called Golden Void Outlaws.”
“Golden Void Outlaws. Our group encountered them and died.”
“I heard that ranked one of the pirate crew of the leaderboard was entirely eliminated. They had Grim Adventurer powerhouses.”
“What?!”
“They are those types who have already comprehended True Concepts as Grim Residents…not to mention their Grim Tree and Grim Weapons must be top tier.”
“It’s clear that all of them had a potential rating of X-rank and higher when they became Grim Residents.”
“They are in the Rebel Faction…”
“Frankly, I hope they ascend to become Grim Students soon. We won’t have to deal with them afterward.”
“Until then, let’s try to avoid them.”
“It seems that stronger groups of Red Monkey and Blue Crab have also heard about them and want to eliminate them. This will be fun.”
Indeed, with the terror that Regalons had caused. Red Monkey and Blue Crab factions sent groups consisting solely of Grim Adventurers to eliminate Golden Void Outlaws.
