Chapter 513: Five Days, Strong Encounter
Five days stretched like storms across the Overlord Ocean. For others, survival meant caution, hiding in sanctuary islands between expeditions. For Regalons—now whispered as Golden Void Outlaws—it meant relentless advance.
The Eltuvaine carved through the abyssal tides, its new heart engine pulsing with the rhythm of thunder. The sea itself seemed to part for it, as though afraid of the predator that roamed its depths.
On the first day, they hunted without pause.
An island of coral spires emerged from the fog, each tower humming with a siren’s pulse. At its core was a cavern where the second Mystic Power slept—[Abyssal Pulse Reactor]. To claim it, they had to slaughter the guardians: a swarm of Abyss-Scaled Sirens, half-serpent monstrosities whose voices dragged even Grim Residents into madness.
When their song erupted, dozens of other crews scattered in panic, running before their ears bled. But Regalons did not run.
“Natalia, it’s up to you to negate their songs and keep us safe. The rest of you all, slaugther everyone.” Almond’s voice was steel.
Rudra tore through the sirens with fists like breaking thunder. Lily’s chakrams shimmered into black crescents, cutting dozens at once, while Viktor froze the sea itself, silencing their chorus in glacial tombs. Arjun’s arrows detonated in bursts of solar fire, rendering the cavern a cathedral of burning light.
Silvester was a blur in the shadows, severing heads before screams could form.
All Grim Outlaws were precise in their style, cold, and utterly overpowered to their enemies.
Natalia’s own songs were a perfect counter to the sirens and their skills, preventing them from affecting other Regalons.
The battle ended not with exhaustion but with inevitability.
The altar glowed. The Abyssal Sails rose, the crystalline sails flickering with strange power.
[Abyssal Sails Acquired.]
— Effect: Allows for quick direction change.
— Unlocks Ability: Abyssal Burst (B).
Abyss Overdrive would activate the sails, giving burst of propulsion to the ship.
“Second Mystic power acquired. It’s lower rank than the other one, but this Abyss Burst looks like a good escape skill,” Zauna said as she looked at the sails.
“Our speed of getting experience is not as fast.” Bianca frowned. “How do we act more like Grim Outlaws?”
“Maybe terrorizing others will increases our experience a bit faster?” Natalia grinned.
“That does make sense given that we are Grim Outlaws.” Lily nodded.
“Then next time, we’ll play others more before finishing them off.” Almond smiled.
“We also need to relax and enjoy like outlaws, I suppose.” Admiral Rudra chuckled. “Let’s call other Grim Outlaws and celebrate in some island. Drinks and food.”
“And Sea Shanties.”
“Haha, I know some.”
“Rafael can sing them, I know.”
…
The Eltuvaine dropped anchor by an uncharted isle—its cliffs jagged, its palms swaying under the weight of fruits that glowed faintly like lanterns. The island was alive with a strange rhythm, its soil humming like a heartbeat beneath bare feet. A perfect outlaw’s haven.
Torches flared along the beach. Tables, chairs, and other things were constructed using suitable elements.
Meat from the leviathans and sea monsters they’d slain days before became a delicacy, roasted over grills. Fruits split open, spilling nectar that hissed when it touched the embers. Barrels of ale were cracked open after Liang and others brewed some and quickened their process as the foam spilled like a storm tide.
But shadows never linger far.
From beyond the reef, distant lights appeared—other pirate crews drawn by the sound of song and flames. Some came curious, others came envious, and a few came sharpening their blades.
“Looks like we’ve got guests,” Silvester whispered, slipping his blade free.
“Let them come,” Almond said, standing. His voice carried over the firelight, steady and sharp. “If they want to drink, they’ll drink. If they want to sing, they’ll sing. But if they want to test the Grim Outlaws—”
He raised his cup, and the flames bent toward him like subjects to a king.
“—they’ll burn.”
…
“Did we miss them again? Ugh…”
“Looks like they destroyed some ships and eliminated groups here last night.”
A giant ship, twice the size of Regalons’ ships, filled with five Mystic Powers, appeared at the island where Regalons had partied last night.
They were one of the pirate crews who set out to eliminate Golden Void Outlaws.
“Send out a local message and ask about Golden Void Outlaws. We won’t stop until we eliminate them. The price is too big to resist.”
Royal faction and Cross Light faction had set a prize on Golden Void Outlaw’s destructor.
It was not that big compared to the top pirate crews of the Rebel Faction, but in the eyes of others, the difficulty was far lower.
After all, how could it be difficult to eliminate a bunch of Grim Residents?
Well, they were going to find that out the moment they encountered Regalons.
But their encounter didn’t come so soon.
Four days have passed since Regalons acquired the second Mystic Power—Abyssal Sails.
During these four days, they acquired two more Mystic Powers.
[Stormlash Spindle Acquired.]
— Effect: Amplifies offensive capabilities of the ship’s cannons and mystic strikes.
— Unlocks Ability: Thunderous Volley Barrage (S).
[Black Diamond Leviathan’s Scale Core Acquired.]
— Effect: Defensive hull reinforced with Black Diamond Levianthan’s scale energy. Increases durability against other cannon and elemental attacks.
— Unlocks Ability: Black Diamond Veil (A).
With these four Mysti Powers, their ship became more powerful, giving them more survivability on the ocean.
They also eliminated a dozen pirate crews, while also permanently killing three groups by drowning them.
Everyone was progressing their experience as Grim Outlaws, as all of them were between 70% to 80%.
Everyone also gradually reached the peak in terms of stat points for their Tier-1 position, Grim Outlaws.
The thing that gave them the most joy was that the deeper they went into the uncharted Overlord Ocean, the better islands they encountered.
They also visited neutral island once in the deeper part where each faction branch had not one but three Grim Nobles stationed.
They found out from there that they had a kind of bounty on them, so stronger crews would be coming for them.
Naturally, Regalons didn’t give two hoots. Whatever came their way, they would overcome it.
But stopping was not possible. They visited more islands, as there were even some that had good resources that increased their stats.
Almond and Lily were already at Grim Outlaw-9, which was the peak, but others needed more stat points.
So far, they had already gathered over three million pirate points, but even without spending any, other Regalons acquired more stats by enjoying natural resources.
And then on the fifth day, just as they departed from an island after acquiring their fifth Mystic Power, a large-scale attack came their way.
Tens of glowering cannon balls and thunder clouds roared above their ships, while they saw killing intent flaring towards them from another ship that was closing in fast.
Kexell narrowed his eyes. “Fifteen strong auras. All of them are Grim Adventurers.”
Without saying anything, Admiral Rudra activated the ship’s full power and began running.
But they naturally didn’t plan to escape before eliminating these fellows.
“This will be a bit tough because they have overall more power than us. The only ones capable of dealing them killing blows are just five of us. So we will go with a different type of combat from now on.” Admiral Rudra quickly began his strategy.
