Re-Awakening: I Ascend with a Legendary class - Chapter 604: Skyfall Relic War

Chapter 604: Skyfall Relic War
The return portal deposited them back into the courtyard of their Vorara residence.
The silver pond rippled as the spatial transition ended. Lotus lamps flickered softly before stabilizing again. For a moment, the peaceful quiet of the estate contrasted almost comically with the absolute battlefield chaos they had just left.
Natalia stretched her arms over her head.
“That barely counts as exercise.”
Kayla exhaled and leaned against the railing of the pond bridge.
“It counts for the other team.”
Saffa collapsed into one of the courtyard chairs dramatically.
“I think I blinked and the game ended.”
Gopu roared proudly as if he had personally carried the entire match.
Ainen wiped his hands as though he had just finished cooking rather than fighting Titans.
“Well then.”
He clapped once.
“Next.”
Almond opened the system interface.
“Two more A-rank wins.”
The floating list of game modes scrolled before them again.
Dozens passed by.
Lily read a few aloud.
“Dimensional Tower Siege.”
“Phantom Territory Hunt.”
“Gravity Arena Brawl.”
Ainen began cooking. “Y’all decide the game, I’ll prepare buffs for us. We will face strong players this time since we won the last one quite easily.”
As everyone was checking out the games, Clovelle found out.
“Wait.”
She leaned closer.
“This one looks… interesting.”
A-Rank Game: Skyfall Relic War
A description appeared beneath it.
Everyone liked it and decided to play it.
It allowed a team with a maximum of ten players, and a total of four teams were allowed.
Objective: Gather relic cores scattered across ancient floating ruins.
Twist: Gravity storms constantly destabilize the battlefield. Ruins collapse over time.
Victory Condition: The team with the most relic cores after one hour wins.
Everyone liked the sound of it almost immediately.
Natalia leaned over the table and tapped the description twice with her finger.
“Floating ruins. Gravity storms. Multiple teams.” She grinned. “Finally, something messy.”
Kayla nodded slowly as she read the details again.
“This battlefield will keep changing. That means no fixed strategies.”
“Which means chaos,” Saffa said happily.
Ainen stretched his shoulders.
“And chaos means cooking opportunities.”
Almond looked at the others.
“We go as a full group.”
Lily confirmed the queue.
The system accepted instantly.
Light swallowed the courtyard.
When their vision returned, the sky itself felt enormous.
They stood on the broken edge of a floating ruin.
Ancient structures drifted in the air around them like the shattered remains of a long-dead civilization. Some were entire temples tilted sideways. Others were fragments of colossal statues or cracked stone platforms hanging in the sky.
Below, everything churned a deep storm sea of purple clouds.
Lightning occasionally crawled through the depths.
If someone fell from these ruins, there was no ground waiting below.
Only the storm.
Far in the distance, tall pillars of golden light marked relic cores scattered across the battlefield.
Five of them were visible from this starting point.
Above their heads, the system display appeared.
SKYFALL RELIC WAR
Players: 39
Teams: 4
BEGIN IN 20 SECONDS
Other teams appeared across nearby ruins.
Ten players on one massive temple platform.
Another team of alien constructs hovered above a cluster of broken towers.
A third group was standing on a chain of floating bridges that connected several ruins together.
Natalia cracked her neck.
“Good.”
Kayla crouched and touched the ground.
Roots slid quietly beneath the stone surface.
She closed her eyes.
“Three relics within two kilometers.”
“Left side,” Almond said.
Everyone nodded.
The countdown ended.
The horn sounded.
The war began instantly.
Movement exploded across the battlefield.
Players launched into the air.
Energy beams flashed.
One team immediately activated massive mechanical wings and flew toward the central ruins.
Another group summoned flying beasts.
Almond’s team moved differently.
Kayla’s roots surged through the ruins like veins beneath stone. Thick roots pushed through cracks in the floating islands, spreading across several nearby structures.
She stood slowly.
“Paths ready.”
Roots rose from the ruins, forming curved bridges between drifting platforms.
“Go.”
They split.
Natalia launched upward first.
Her baton appeared in her hand.
A ring of instruments erupted into existence around her.
Violins spun.
Harps shimmered.
Drums hovered like thunderheads.
Sound exploded outward.
Three enemy players had rushed the same ruin she targeted.
They barely saw her before the orchestra struck.
A wave of golden resonance burst across the platform.
The stone floor shattered.
Two players were launched completely off the ruin.
The third managed to block with a barrier.
Natalia flicked the baton again.
A focused sonic spike drilled straight through the barrier and threw him into the wall of a collapsed temple.
The relic core behind him floated upward.
She caught it.
“First one’s ours.”
Elsewhere, Lily had already unleashed her Dreadlings.
Creatures poured into the ruins like a living invasion.
Winged predators swooped between floating pillars.
Serpentine hunters slid through broken walls.
A swarm of shadow parasites attached themselves to two players from another team and began draining their energy reserves.
They fled immediately.
The relic they were fighting over was left unattended.
A loud roar shook the battlefield.
One of the relic cores awakened its guardian.
The ruin beneath it cracked open.
A colossal Titan rose from the stone.
Its body looked like an entire mountain given arms and legs. Molten cracks glowed across its body like veins.
The Titan swung a fist large enough to flatten half the ruin.
Ainen appeared above it.
He watched the giant calmly.
“Hmm.”
Then he snapped his fingers.
Flames appeared.
Not normal flames.
These flames had color and personality.
Blue flames swallowed kinetic force.
Green flames consumed magical attacks and converted them into Pulse.
Crimson flames burned raw life energy.
The spiral of fire wrapped around the Titan’s body.
The giant roared.
Then its movements slowed.
Every attack it tried to unleash was eaten by the flames and turned into energy that flowed back to Ainen.
The Titan staggered.
Almond arrived a second later.
His Grimblade appeared.
One swing.
Voidfracture lines tore across the Titan’s chest.
The massive body split apart like cracked stone.
The relic core rose from the debris.
Meanwhile, Saffa and Fraisea had reached another ruin cluster.
Six enemy players were already fighting over the relic there.
Saffa looked at Fraisea.
“Want to?”
Fraisea nodded.
“Let’s.”
Saffa opened her palm.
A chaotic storm of purple ice constructs exploded outward. Bladed shapes spun through the air like violent fireworks.
Fraisea followed with precise beams of radiant frost energy.
The two attacks overlapped perfectly.
Enemy defenses shattered.
Three players were knocked off the floating ruin completely.
The rest retreated.
Fraisea caught the relic core.
“Second one.”
Then the gravity storm arrived.
The sky twisted.
A massive vortex of wind and gravity appeared above the battlefield.
The floating ruins began drifting.
Slowly at first.
Then violently.
Entire temple fragments tilted sideways.
Bridges snapped.
Players lost their footing as gravity shifted direction unpredictably.
A massive ruin suddenly flipped ninety degrees, and several fighters slid screaming off its surface.
Kayla smiled faintly.
Her root network anchored their entire team.
Thick vines wrapped around broken pillars and ruins, stabilizing platforms long enough for them to move.
Other teams struggled.
Almond’s group moved freely.
The scoreboard appeared thirty minutes into the match.
Team A: 3 relics
Team B: 2 relics
Team C: 1 relic
Almond’s team: 7 relics
Natalia laughed.
“Are we even trying?”
The final relic core activated near the largest floating temple in the battlefield.
All four teams rushed it.
Thirty players collided on the same structure.
The battle was immediate and brutal.
Explosions shook the temple.
Energy beams tore through ancient pillars.
Stone bridges collapsed.
Natalia’s orchestra filled half the sky with vibrating sound waves.
Ainen’s flames turned entire sections of the battlefield into burning vortexes.
Lily’s Dreadlings hunted players through the ruins like predators in tall grass.
Then Almond spoke quietly.
“Finish it.”
Seven figures appeared behind him.
His Spirit Lords.
Alfred.
Sylvia.
Benedict.
Galvaren.
Meliora.
Velkris.
Nyssara.
“Everyone, bolster the Spirit Lords and destroy everything.”
The battlefield changed instantly. Everyone began boosting the moves launched by Spirit Lords with their own arsenal of powers, unleashing pure destruction.
Galvaren’s storm wings cut through enemy formations like hurricanes.
Sylvia’s living vines wrapped the entire ruins and crushed opposing players.
Velkris distorted space itself with prismatic waves.
Meliora’s alchemical constructs dissolved armor and weapons.
Nyssara’s cold aura froze half the battlefield.
Within minutes, the remaining teams collapsed.
Kayla stepped forward and collected the final relic core.
And the game ended.
In the leaderboard, their team had the highest relics.
Everyone got 25,000 Anchor Points and one Resource Construction Box, giving them one resource of any tier with any attributes and aspect they desired.
