Re-Awakening: I Ascend with a Legendary class - Chapter 611: This Will Be Fun

Chapter 611: This Will Be Fun
Somewhere in the realm of Kings and Puppets, there existed a floating continent, and on this continent’s highest mountain peak, stretching 1,000,000 kilometers upward like a spear through the sky, there lay a pond.
The pond was not simple. It was like a five-dimensional universe with simmering starlight-blue water, and colorful geometric objects moving in a certain order and forming patterns, but looking seemingly chaotic to human eyes.
And yet, just like naturally, the pond was filled with its inhabitants. Except that they were not simple fish and shrimps.
One could see ten factions in this universe as they formed identical zones in ten different areas.
They were called the Exotic Monsters of John Wicked.
Those ten factions were ruled by his Ten Exotic Monster Sovereigns, and each faction had millions of strong monsters.
How strong, you ask?
Well, forget the Monster Lords, but the lowest-ranked monster in those ten factions can kill Almond and the gang at their current combat power.
Solo them into oblivion.
Because it was an Exotic Monster of John Wicked, not a random monster.
And this was his Kingdom in this Realm of Kings and Puppets, and it was known in many names.
The Kingdom of Otherworldly Horrors.
The Kingdom of Eldritch Paradise.
The Kingdom of Exotic Monsters.
It was none other than the 178th-ranked Kingdom in this realm of Kings and Puppet—PeakWicked Kingdom. Yep. That’s the name.
“Looks like they entered Layer 3, and they got one more X-ranker with them?” John Wicked chuckled. “It’s going to be a hell of a temptation, boys and girls. Better make the choice wisely. The worst your choice, the better the rewards.”
John grinned with anticipation. “You’d better choose the rough path, or we won’t be able to go forward together.”
At the corner of his vision, a status number indicated his current Tier of lifeform.
Tier-37.
…
“Alright, so we are doing this.” Lily looked at everyone, her eyes firm.
“Hell yeah.” Natalia grinned. “Go big or fuck off.”
Gopu roared next to her, resonating with Natalia more and more as he liked her energy.
Ainen chuckled. “This will be more fun for sure.”
“There are up to 100 Tiers of power here, but the strongest is still at Tier-58…” Kayla muttered. “So we can catch up and join this race?”
“That’s what John was talking about.” Almond grinned. “Well, we have to climb, and if we want to climb fast, we have to choose hell mode.”
Hell Mode was only reserved for people of X-rank and SSS-rank.
Naturally, that still amounted to billions, with 0.1% of them being X-rank and the rest being SSS-rank. But through hell mode, one could attain X-rank potential, and…one could also lose it.
Worst case? Death. It wasn’t uncommon for X-rank and SSS-rank to die when they competed with other X-rank and SSS-rank in warfare events tied to Kingdoms.
Because Layer Three required both power and wits from one if one wanted to rise.
“Let’s go then. We’ll choose the lowest of the low and then rise from there.” Fraisea clenched her fists, eyes thrilled.
Despite them having a perfect score, which allowed them to choose whatever positions they wanted in the top 100 kingdoms, as all kingdoms would be willing to recruit them due to their score, they naturally chose Hell Mode, which gave them the reward of elevating their lifeform Tier by completing Hell Mode quests.
And this first quest was to start from one of the lowest positions in the Realm of Kings and Puppets.
In this realm, positions granted powers that could be enforced upon people, regardless of their actual combat power.
In a pyramid of ranks, all positions could impose their authority on people below their positions, with the Kings/Queens at the highest. Of course, there were certain limits to them towards people as well because this realm was fair and unfair both, and that was decided by two things equally.
Combat Power and Position both.
And although the power ceiling of this realm was up to Tier-100, after five deck manifestations were completed as people gained the fifth slot at Tier-20, further tier-ups would give pure stat power boosts.
But due to the ceiling being this high, the various events of this realm also rewarded people with up to Tier-100 level stuff like Tier-100 blueprints of advanced technology, knowledge, and there were also monsters, and boss monsters so strong that even the current strongest people required Tier-100 items, and resources to develop magitech to fight in various warfare events at high level.
Moreover, despite the difficulty of breaking through being very simple after Tier-20 when one unlocks all five deck slots, those simple requirements were extremely difficult to accomplish.
Hell Mode was a booster, but also a clash with each other in the same mode. It was a perk of the strong-willed, not a handicap.
And if someone fails just one Hell Mode quest, they would be out of Hell Mode permanently.
So beginning on this Hell Mode journey, Almond and all the others started as… slaves, the lowest position in this realm.
The reward? Once they managed to legally abolish their slave status without getting killed and rise to other positions in a kingdom, they would be directly elevated to Tier-10.
…
The mine tunnels were busy, but not chaotic.
Rows of workers moved through the cavern with carts, tools, and small extraction devices, talking to each other as they worked. Lantern arrays floated along the ceiling, keeping the place bright enough to see without making it feel like a dungeon.
Some people hummed while mining.
Some complained.
Some just worked quietly.
Almond stood beside a stone wall, lightly tapping his mining tool against a vein in the rock. Each tap loosened a chunk of gemstone that dropped neatly into the collection bin beside him.
A worker nearby glanced over.
“You’re new?”
Almond nodded once.
“Yeah.”
The man chuckled.
“Figures.”
A few meters away, Natalia was very much not working quietly.
She leaned against the wall, swinging her pick lazily while chatting with Saffa.
“Yo, so how are we going to do this?” Natalia asked Lily next to her.
“We got directly transported here in this slave miner uniform, and the task is to mine this. So stop being lazy and mine fast, so we can finish our quota and learn about where we are.” Lily replied as she mined fast.
“Tsk, take it easy.”
Lily smirked. “Well, Almond and I will leave once we are done. It won’t be our fault if you get left behind.”
Kayla giggled.
“Come on. We just arrived here.”
“By the way, are we being insensitive here by being this jolly about slavery?” Ainen felt weird and intentional gazes from other miners coming their way.
“I have an idea,” Clovelle said. “How about we form an armed rebellion in the name of abolishing slavery in this whatever kingdom, and take over? That will be the shortest way to complete this Hell Mode quest.”
“Ohh, I like the idea, sister.”
“Me too, sis.”
“Well…” Ainen wryly smiled. “We have to find out about the power of this kingdom first.”
“True, but the idea is not bad.” Natalia grinned.
“Yep.” Almond and Lily both nodded.
“So we’re doing it?” Kayla asked.
Everyone looked at each other.
Then Lily said, “Yeah, we are doing it, but finish this quota first and get out to get information. Don’t forget to ask other miners as well.”
Everyone nodded and decided to scatter as they finished mining in their current spots.
