Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster - Chapter 425: Scarlet Painting

Chapter 425: Scarlet Painting
The two went from section to section of the cathedral, massacring every single monster in sight.
As it turned out, every section was like a progressive layer, starting with the weakest monsters, and with each new section, the monsters became more powerful.
Now, after six sections, Rael and Malinali were finally nearing the boss room, and during that time, his stats had gone up slightly.
<+42 Premium Coin Acquired>
<+33 Supreme Beast’s Strength>
<+42 Calamity Agility>
<+99 Fallen God’s Constitution>
<+28 Draconic Intelligence>
<+19 Archangel’s Wisdom>
Killing the same monsters wasn’t that efficient anymore as he was barely gaining any stats.
Still, his stats had gone up by a solid amount.

Only two are maxed out? Hmm… I need to nearly double my strength and intelligence stats if I want to max those two out as well, Rael thought.
In front of him was another gate, which signified the start of the new cathedral section.
However, unlike the previously dull sections, this one had a few fancy golden chandeliers and even multiple paintings detailing a man in a scarlet suit of armor slaying monsters.
In one of the paintings, the man’s sword was pointed upward toward some kind of golden glow. It wasn’t a normal golden glow, as the more Rael focused on it, the more messed up his perception became.
And after only five seconds, he had no choice but to look away, because if he hadn’t, he would’ve likely staggered to the ground from the ensuing headache.
But for some reason, Rael felt a sense of familiarity with the painting, or rather, the golden light.
After pondering for a moment, he raised a brow.
Could it be Solenne? Rael thought skeptically, and that was when he remembered something.
He found this dungeon key in a Vault sealed inside the headquarters of one of the most powerful factions in the universe, so it was safe to assume that it was in there for a reason.
There were more paintings, and with each step closer to the gate, the paintings became more vivid, until eventually, he spotted something interesting.
The last painting before the gate represented that very same man dressed in scarlet armor. He was once again fighting the golden light, only this time, his sword was embedded into the golden light, drawing blood.
But it seemed as if Rael had stared at the painting for too long, since in the next moment, he saw a single droplet of blood fall from the golden light.
The blood traveled along the man’s blade, wrapping itself around it and turning the entire blade into a scarlet color.
Rael felt enchanted by the sight, and the longer he stared, the brighter the scarlet blade became.
Right as he was about to take his eyes away from the painting, the man adorning the scarlet armor suddenly turned his head toward Rael.
His face looked as though it had been crafted from porcelain, and his scarlet eyes locked onto Rael, making it difficult for him to look away.
All the while, several dozen pop-ups flashed in front of Rael, trying to snap him out of his daze.
<Ding!>
Rael felt his head start to spin, and by mustering all his strength, he just barely managed to close his eyes.
Thankfully, after noticing what was happening, Malinali grabbed him by the collar and pulled him backward before slashing the portrait into several tiny pieces with her blade.
Because of that, Rael’s mind began to settle, and the image of the scarlet-armored man vanished.
Despite that, those intense scarlet eyes lingered in his mind, giving Rael an uneasy feeling as he finally reopened his eyes.
He took a few deep breaths, then met Malinali’s confused gaze.
“Hmm… I’m not usually one to be a pussy, but I think we should get out of here,” Rael said plainly.
“Is it because of what just happened?” Malinali asked, tilting her head. “I leveled up once, and I’m sure I’ll be able to level up a few more times very soon. So do you want to take a break?”
Rael paused, then nodded. “Yeah. Let’s take a short break. I need to collect my thoughts.”
“Sure,” Malinali replied and sat down on the spot.
She rested her head on the hilt of her sword and glanced at him.
“I told you about myself, but you never really told me anything. I don’t even know your name,” Malinali said.
Rael thought about it for a few moments, and then he agreed.
“Sure, but before I do that, is Malinali Liesa your real name?” Rael asked out of nowhere.
Malinali’s eyes widened as she opened and closed her mouth several times, trying to utter a few words.
But in the end, she could only let out a chuckle.
“How did you know?”
