Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster - Chapter 431: The One Shot

Chapter 431: The One Shot
Having said those words, Rael steadied himself, and all the while, he focused on what was happening around him.
He wasn’t sure when it first started, but it seemed like ever since his fear had reached a certain level, it had begun to affect the surroundings in the form of cold.
Whether he could enhance it or not was something he would have to check later; for now, he had to deal with the two elite monsters in front of him.
The elite monsters switched their weapons again and kicked off the ground. Despite that, their speed wasn’t great because it seemed like Rael’s fear was still affecting them.
Therefore, he stopped stalling for time and raised his hand.
<Ding!>
<Do you wish to cast: Final Cataclysm? Yes / No>
He took one final breath, and with a single thought, he pressed “Yes.”
In an instant, it felt as if his hand began to move on its own, tracing the two elite monsters, specifically, their throats.
And after just a few seconds, Rael suddenly felt an extreme amount of energy leave his body. It wasn’t MTP or Dragon Force. Frankly, he had no idea what it was.
But he was immediately rendered exhausted, to the point where he staggered backward.
Thankfully, since Melina was right behind him, she caught him.
Yet he soon realized that the two elite monsters had stopped moving.
In the next instant, the one thing he wasn’t exactly expecting happened.
-100%! Instant Kill!
-65%! Fatal Hit!
The Saintess’s hands trembled, and for the first time since he had entered this dungeon, he heard a gasp escape her mouth.
She extended her hand toward Rael, as if she wanted to tell him something. But before she could utter a word, her body began turning to ash, starting at her fingertips and eventually making its way down to her toes.
And in the end, the only thing left of the Saintess was her staff, which fell to the ground and shattered.
Rael was shocked by what had just happened, but he knew it wasn’t over yet as no kill notification appeared.
At the same time, the Scarlet Champion that had been beside the Saintess suddenly dropped his sword and fell to the ground.
Shortly after, his left leg, left arm, and left eye were turned to ash.
But unlike the Priestess, he remained alive, with his gaze fixed on the ash that had been the Priestess only mere moments ago.
However, Rael knew that it was the end as bit by bit, more of the Scarlet Champion’s body began turning to ash, similar to the Priestess.
And while that was happening, a few pop-ups appeared in front of him.
<Calamity Damage has synergized with the Law of Destruction>
<You have instantly killed all targeted Grade 3 beings>
<You have mortally wounded all targeted Grade 4 beings>
“…” Rael stared speechlessly.
By no means did he expect such a straightforward skill effect.
I mean… Killing Grade 3’s in an instant? Fatally wounding a Grade 4? What the fuck is this? Rael thought, his head spinning. What if there are like 1,000,000 people on the battlefield? Will I be able to one-shot a Grade 10?
[Not quite, so don’t get ahead of yourself, princess,] Burger chimed in with a sigh. [Calamity Damage and Destruction Damage are similar, and as you might’ve read, they are out of the system’s jurisdiction. Normally, those types of damage wouldn’t be registered, but because you had a skill that used both those forces in a non-direct manner, you were able to use their full strength.]
Rael raised a brow. So one way to counter this bullshit jurisdiction is to get skills that completely step over the jurisdiction?
[For the time being, yes. However, don’t overuse such skills recklessly. They take a heavy toll on your soul, and I will repeat this in case you forgot, but Universal Laws do apply to you. When you leave the Depths, if you were to use this kind of skill multiple times in a row while being so weak, you would disappear,] Burger added sternly.
Hearing that, Rael nodded and decided not to get too into it. After all, when he was done with this dungeon, he wanted to take a 1-day break before invading the Hollow Kingdom.
And during that break, he wanted to do something special.
Burger, I hope you’re prepared to be a teacher, Rael said with a grin. If not, then I might just sell you.
[Sell me? Hah… I really hope that Scarlet Champion gets up from the floor and whacks you over the head,] Burger replied with a pout.
Just then, Rael turned to the Scarlet Champion and realized he had been scooping up the Saintess’s ashes all this time, not paying any attention to Rael or the stunned Melina.
Rael took a deep breath and slowly walked up to the Scarlet Champion, then he crouched down beside him.
From the gestures, and from the single scarlet eye he could see through the helmet, Rael knew this guy really could understand everything he was saying, and odds were, the Saintess could too.
“Hey,” Rael called out. “I know you can understand me, and I sure as shit know that you can talk. I’ve met a stupid dragon who could talk before, and he wasn’t even a Grade 1.”
Of course, he was referring to the Chosen Blue Dragon Mercurius, who was likely now fine dining in Celestara.
Anyhow…
The Scarlet Champion, Claudius, raised his head and met Rael’s eyes.
Rael felt a chill go down his spine, but he knew that Claudius couldn’t do much at the moment. After all, he was on the verge of death.
The two stared at each other for a few moments until eventually, Claudius opened his mouth and spoke.
“I hold nothing against you, even after you have slain my sister,” Claudius said in a raspy voice. “For I have complete confidence that the moment you reach the final gate, you shall face the fate of those who came before you.”
