Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster - Chapter 456: Fate Affinity

Chapter 456: Fate Affinity
“You look like you’ve seen a ghost or something,” Burger pointed out. “Go buy one of those fizzy drinks. Buy one for me as well.”
Hearing that, Rael could only let out a sigh as he slowly shifted his body and sat upright.
That was definitely Lucien, Rael thought with a frown. But what was that place? It didn’t seem like the Mind Realm, nor was it the Dream Realm. Are there any other realms?
Of course, he was a little spooked by what he had seen, especially Lucien’s silver eyes. As for what that vision meant, Rael could only theorize.
But since Burger mentioned he had some expertise in the Fate affinity, Rael figured it was better to ask him outright.
“Say… is it normal to see some kind of vision?” Rael asked, then corrected himself. “While you were injecting that strange energy into me, I saw something weird.”
“Hm?” Burger tilted his head. “That must be one of your Fate abilities, then. Everyone is different, in a sense.”
Rael nodded. “Different how?”
“Some can affect probability, insight, visions, and even some ‘fate’ bullshit where you’re bound to meet someone or something along those lines,” Burger replied flatly. “One of my previous wives was the type that could influence meetings, so I might’ve gotten seduced… Didn’t quite figure that one out yet.”
Rael chuckled and tried to rise, but flopped back down on his ass.
Burger sighed in annoyance. “You’re like a little special duckling. Listen, the Fate affinity should stabilize inside your heart within a few hours. After that, you will be able to freely use it.”
Then, he glanced back at Rael. “As for your question, yes. It might’ve been a vision of the future, a vision of the past, or a vision of the present. Can’t really tell you, since I don’t know much about that type.”
Burger raised a paw. “Also, you might want to check your Mana Trell Points.”
“…?”
Mana Trell Points (MTP): [44 Billion / 44 Billion] [+0 Excess]
“Burger…” Rael’s eyes widened. “You fucking bastard! My money!”
Of course, if the excess mana ran out, his money would be the next thing to compensate for the mana.
In this case, the bastard Burger had just rinsed over 300 billion Trell.
Despite the fatigue, Rael stood up and threw a punch at Burger. To his surprise, Burger nimbly dodged it and proceeded to bite Rael’s hand.
Burger tried to run away, but Rael grabbed him by the tail and lifted him up, a frown on his face.
“You are 304 Premium Coins in debt to me now,” Rael stated coldly.
“Come on… I had a reason for it,” Burger reasoned, hanging upside down.
“What is it?” Rael asked.
Burger paused for a moment, then spoke. “You see… the way I can channel the Fate affinity into you is actually through your own skills. I used your mana to simulate casting that Fate skill of yours, but instead of casting it outwardly, I did so straight into your heart.”
He coughed once. “In the end, it all worked out, so I’m not sure why you’re so mad. Just go kill like five monsters and you’ll get all your money back.”
Rael pondered over it for a few moments, then let go of Burger’s tail.
“I really wish you would’ve told me. I could’ve bought some mana-boosting potions or something of the sort. They would’ve been far cheaper than 300 billion Trell,” Rael said.
“Well, had I told you that I was going to bite into your money reserves, you would’ve looked for a way to avoid it, thus wasting both of our time,” Burger replied as he flapped his wings, dusting himself off.
“But that’s that. In an hour or two, we will begin your training. Your vision, on the other hand… I don’t know. Do whatever you want with it.”
Rael rolled his eyes. However, in doing so, his gaze passed by the Silver Willow Tree only a few dozen kilometers away. For some reason, he felt a sense of familiarity with it. He was being drawn to it.
But after staring at it for just a few moments, Rael turned his gaze away, feeling a bit dazed.
Could that vision have been from the Silver Willow Tree? Rael thought, rubbing his temples.
The only way to confirm would be to directly enter the Silver Willow Tree, but before his powers stabilized, he didn’t want to risk it.
Because of that, he sat down and prepared to wait for a few hours. However, it seemed like he didn’t need to wait for long, as pop-ups began flashing in front of him shortly after.
<Ding!>
<(NEW) Your flight speed increases by +250%>
<(NEW) Ratio: 1 Draconic Intelligence = 2 DF>
His body once again felt lighter, and he wasn’t sure how his strength translated into stats, or how his stats reflected his strength. But of course, he definitely felt much stronger and faster.
But how does the Fate affinity work exactly? Rael thought, and pressed on it, causing a few other pop-ups to appear.
Rael smiled in satisfaction. After all, this was the one thing he wanted, and although it may be partially effective, it was better than nothing.
And how will this work exactly? Will I have to fight some kind of strike? That seems interesting, Rael mused.
But there was still one question in his mind, and that was how to use the Fate Affinity itself.
However, since the Burger was right in front of him, it was about time he found out.
