Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster - Chapter 457: Playing Around

Chapter 457: Playing Around
“You already unlocked it…?” Burger muttered in awe, then quickly shook his head. “I mean… It took you that long to unlock it? Hah, I knew you were nothing special. Now, don’t worry, I will make sure you’re just a little bit more special by the time our training is over and done with.”
“Wow… You’re such a tsundere,” Rael replied, clicking his tongue. “Anyhow, fine. Teach me how to use this fate thingy. So far, it looks nearly identical to the laws I have.”
“It’s not a law just yet,” Burger corrected. “But it can become a law if you practice it enough. I believe 25% or 50% Affinity Mastery is the threshold to turn it into a law. But don’t quote me on that, it’s been a while.”
Burger stepped forward once again and tapped the ground as if telling Rael to sit down.
He better not do the same shit again.
Thankfully, he didn’t, and instead, he sat down beside Rael.
“The changes to how you control mana are not that massive,” Burger announced. “However, they are a little different. For example… Your Fate Affinity focuses more on prophetical and probability manipulation, so whenever you want to use the most of your affinity, you must direct the mana toward… Well, I’ll keep that interpretation open. Otherwise, you won’t learn.”
“I see… So you’re telling me that how I used to control mana is basically the same, then? I just have to draw it from my heart and choose whether to cover certain parts in mana or not?” Rael asked for confirmation.
Burger shrugged. “That’s the gist of it. But knowledge is one thing, and control is another. Draconic mana control is a bit more delicate, and I believe your ultimate goal should be to convert all your Mana Trell Points into Dragon Force.”
Hearing that, Rael couldn’t help but tilt his head. “Seriously? What’s the point? I get Dragon Force is a bit better, but won’t I be limiting myself in that case? All skills use mana—”
“But they can also be turned into the draconic variants,” Burger cut him off. “Listen… I’m not forcing you, but I’d look into that. As for your training now, I want you to look into the future.”
“…?”
“Isn’t that a little much for the first time?” Rael asked, puzzled.
Burger scoffed. “Just what do you think Fate is? You don’t have a lot of mastery, but it’s the optimal time to learn now, so get to it.”
Just like that, silence fell once again. However, Rael was still a little puzzled about how to go about it.
Burger had mentioned focusing the mana somewhere, so Rael decided to try the brain.
He took a deep breath, and then focused on his dragon heart.
There were strange invisible strands floating around. Rael remembered that his mana was slightly different beforehand, so it seemed like the Fate Affinity completely took over his mana.
Of course, there were other energies like Dragon Force, but for some reason, he couldn’t exactly locate it inside his dragon heart.
Or that was what he thought; however, he soon spotted a dark crimson energy in the very center of his heart, and it seemed to be surrounded completely by the Fate Affinity strands.
But for simplicity’s sake, Rael was going to refer to them as Fate Threads.
Nonetheless, Dragon Force wasn’t the thing he wanted to focus on at the moment. Instead, he gently willed the Fate Threads out of his heart. They made their way to his brain, and the moment they arrived, Rael felt a wave of clarity wash over him.
Yet that was where the problem started. He wasn’t sure where to go from here.
But that moment of uncertainty only lasted for a few seconds, since he soon realized that the Fate Threads were most likely similar to the Dream Realm and the Mind Realm.
So with that in mind, Rael closed his eyes and, instead of swirling the Fate Threads around his brain, projected them outward. When he reopened his eyes, the surroundings turned completely dark, similar to what happened earlier with Lucien.
Burger was gone as well, and now, the only one here was Rael himself, in that pitch-black realm he wasn’t exactly sure how to control.
Past, present, future… Wasn’t that what it said? Rael mused, a smile appearing on his face. What if this place is where I watch all that? Like a Prophetic Realm?
Rael imagined the Dralgur Continent, and a moment later, his Prophetic Realm displayed an aerial view of the entire continent. It was similar to how he viewed Celestara from the star. This was just on a much larger scale than before. Yet, he also saw the massive crater in place of the Holy Kingdom that appeared after his fight with Solenne.
His head began to ache slightly, but despite that, he willed the view to cross back over to Celestara. To his surprise, the forests had been replanted, and players were actively hunting monsters. Some were even going for fancy kills, as if to show off for their live streams.
Rael chuckled and looked around Celestara for a bit. Upon not seeing anyone he knew, not even Linlin, Evelyn, Mercurius, or Medusa, he decided to play around a bit.
Since what he was currently seeing was the present time, Rael decided to try looking into the future.
He willed the Prophetic Realm to display a few seconds into the future, but apart from stopping time from flowing, it wasn’t moving forward.
Interesting failsafe. I guess I don’t have enough mastery to look into the future? Rael deduced. Well, that’s fine. I’ll just look into the past instead.
Therefore, he focused his thoughts on that, and as expected, the time that had been frozen began to seemingly rewind at an incredibly fast rate.
The players moved backwards, some vanished from sight, obviously logging out. Yet the rate increased so much that he saw the trees regrowing in real time.
