Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster - Chapter 465: Insane Birb

Chapter 465: Insane Birb
For a brief moment, her eyes turned golden, but just as quickly, they returned to normal. However, he was sure the Insanity effect was still there.
When they locked eyes, Rael felt a strange pulse leave his horn, and less than a second later, another pop-up appeared.
I see… So she’s immune to fear, but not to insanity, Rael deduced. The max I can stack it is five. So if I just max it out, I should be able to defeat her.
She raised her hands, and in the next instant, shot a completely red fireball at him.
He would have loved to tank it, but the moment it left her hands, he felt that the heat alone would incinerate him, so he dashed away, narrowly avoiding the first fireball.
Then, a couple more followed, relentlessly striking the ground and turning it into molten goo.
But Rael knew that this was just the tip of the iceberg.
Still… I want to land a clean hit on her at least once, Rael thought, and decided to try something new.
Burger had taught him to infuse his fists with skills, but what if he tried to create new skills altogether?
[Before you think up something stupid, let me tell you something—]
Quiet. Let me focus. Vatyra’s about to attack, Rael cut him off.
He focused on his Dragon Heart and felt the mana swirl inside. There were Fate Threads, but there was also the regular mana beyond that.
Last time, I activated a skill and sent it to my fists, so how about…
Rael decided to go with the simplest skill ever, Blood Blade. He began to cast it, but instead of sending it at Vatyra, or into his fists, he focused that skill activation inside.
What he didn’t realize, however, was that while he was doing this, time was not passing on the outside. Almost as if he was partially inside the Mind Realm.
So like that, Rael proceeded to play around with the skill inside his heart. He felt the Blood Blade skill simply resting there, and he was unsure of how exactly to utilize it. That was until he remembered what he had done earlier.
To activate the Fate Affinity, he had to send the Fate Threads toward his eyes. He had targeted his brain instead, and it worked wonders.
So if I need to target something that can make the skill work… What if I…
Rael brought his finger up to his mouth, and then bit down hard, drawing blood. Because he could slightly control his healing, Rael made it so the wound wouldn’t close instantly.
Rael thrust all the mana he had gathered from the Blood Blade skill out of his open wound, just before the droplet of blood could fall.
Instead of a Blood Blade, however, a large spurt of uncontrolled blood shot forward.
Just as it was about to reach Vatyra, she extended her hand, burning the blood so not even a splash landed on her.
However, that alone was enough to make her eyes widen, and the eyes of everyone around as well.
“Y-You… Are you some kind of reincarnator? Your mana pathways aren’t even open yet. So how are you…” Vatyra trailed, meeting his eyes.
Does she not see the insanity debuff? Also, reincarnator? That’s an interesting card to play, Rael thought, and decided to drag it out slightly.
“Maybe? Can’t say I remember my past life. Though, if I had a past life, I was probably an immature bastard who worked for a shitty organization and gambled all his money away.”
Rael smiled. “Or maybe not? Maybe I was a greedy king, or a charming prince? Maybe—”
“Shut up,” Vatyra cut him off, appearing right in front of him. She was so fast she somehow managed to bypass his Foresight.
And before he knew it, she drove her fiery fist straight through his body.
However, right as it was about to reach his heart, he pushed the Blood Blade skill to the limit, acting as a sort of barrier that froze Vatyra’s hand in place.
Not only that, the blood extended from his body and began to slowly cover hers. Unlike the previous uncontrolled spell, Rael had the hang of it now, just a little.
But like he thought, her flames burned his blood, and even while her hand was inside his body, Rael could only feel pain.
The surroundings had long since crumbled. The makeshift arena was gone, replaced by several large cracks that revealed the sea below them. Many rivers flowed from every direction, and even the Silver Willow Tree in the not-so-far-away distance seemed to be affected.
Some of its leaves burned, but because of Rael’s frost, the effect didn’t spread too far.
Rael focused his attention on Vatyra, who was only moments away from killing him, and upon seeing a certain pop-up, he grinned.
It’s not level 5… But I’m pretty sure I’m going to die if I don’t do something now, Rael thought, and in the blink of an eye, he cast one of his mind-based skills.
[DF -50 | 568 / 618 (x1 Neural Collapse)]
Vatyra raised a brow, clearly not affected. But perhaps because of overconfidence, she stopped her hand for a moment.
And a moment was all Rael needed, as that bit of mental damage was enough for the Level 4 insanity debuff to finally show its effects.
Her eyes turned completely golden as small, barely noticeable yellow flames circled them.
That was when Vatyra finally realized what was going on, as her eyes widened in shock. Immediately, extremely hot flames enveloped her body.
The flames were wild and scorched both Rael and the surroundings. He almost thought he imagined it, but he was sure Vatyra’s skin was slightly scorched too.
Despite that, the flames condensed around her head, as if she were trying to burn away the insanity.
In turn, Rael was finally free to take a few steps back and prepare his final attack.
But what he didn’t expect was how easily she burned away the insanity.
<Ding!>
