[I’m pulling you out of there,] Vatyra spoke urgently.
No… Don’t do anything for now, Rael interjected. He knows I shouldn’t be here, but instead of seizing me and bringing me to Solenne, he’s openly interrogating me.
Basically, a man who was eternally loyal and obedient like a lapdog wouldn’t do something like this, which led Rael down a different route.
“Pretty sure you might’ve found something if you looked deeper.” Rael whistled. “But hey, I don’t blame you—”
“I despise small talk,” Roger cut him off. “Tell me, or I’ll hand you over to the Goddess.”
The moment he uttered those words, he pulled a black knife out of his inventory, holding it tightly in his grasp.
[Oh? The Blade of Harmony? How does that human have this?] Vatyra mused.
[Indeed… This is an ancient item from the age of the ancient primordials,] Gaia chimed in. [To own such an artifact, one must have deep connections, if you know what I mean.]
I see… What does it do? Rael asked, and all the while, decided to entertain Roger.
“Hmm~ I wonder?” Rael whistled. “To be honest with you, I don’t have an answer to that. I guess you could say luck was involved. A shit ton of luck, actually.”
“Luck is not enough to slip by a being such as the Goddess,” Roger said.
Rael rolled his eyes. “Blind faith is not a good look on you, Roger.”
The surroundings grew colder, and that was when Gaia’s voice rang out inside his mind again:
[The Blade of Harmony wipes the memory of the last 10 seconds, and in turn, stores those memories inside of that blade. According to legend, one can access those memories whenever they want… But I’m guessing there’s a reason why he isn’t doing that.]
Hearing that, Rael immediately got an idea.
So what if I break it? Wouldn’t that make all of his memories flow back out?
[So what? What guarantee do you have that he’ll be on your side?] Vatyra scoffed. [Just don’t mess around. If I see you’re in danger, I’m pulling you out of there.]
I’ll leave it up to you and Gaia, Rael replied trustingly, his gaze sharpening.
“Roger, are there moments when you have dark thoughts? Do you sometimes question your loyalty?” Rael began, and all the while, he focused the Eternal Marionette skill inside of his heart, turning it into its mana form.
“That would be treason,” Roger replied plainly. “I am not someone who would dare to do something so treasonous.”
Rael smiled, and then, an extremely powerful wave of mana shot out from within his body and enveloped Roger from head to toe.
It was invisible to the naked eye, and yet…
Rael didn’t hesitate for even a moment and pressed yes.
In the next instant, his vision shifted, and he found himself in the body of Roger. He was resisting fiercely, and it almost felt like Rael’s consciousness would be torn apart.
However, there was no time for that.
Rael felt incredibly powerful, almost as powerful as he had been in his Full Dragon transformation, minus the mana.
But by mustering all that power, Rael proceeded to grab both ends of the Blade of Harmony, and then abruptly crack it in two.
Or that was the plan, but the blade didn’t even crack.
So in the last milliseconds of panic, Rael threw the blade back to his main body.
Just as the possession ended, Rael was back in his own body as he moved his head to the side, letting the blade skim past him.
But he didn’t let it get away. He grabbed it out of the air and held it tightly.
A deathly bloodlust radiated from in front of him, and even with Rael’s foresight that allowed him to see 5 seconds into the future, Rael saw no possibility of avoiding the next attack.
But in the end, he didn’t exactly need to avoid it.

Just like that, when Roger’s cane neared Rael’s neck, one of those fragments appeared out of thin air and covered the most vital part of his neck.
And as expected, when the cane slashed through his neck, it bounced off the single fragment, shattering it.

That alone managed to save Rael’s ass as he took a step backward and instantly regenerated the rest of his neck.
Yet this singular action made Roger halt in shock.
But at the same time, this entire encounter provided Rael with the perfect opportunity.
“Thank you for that…” Rael held back a laugh. “Here I thought I’d try to do it all by myself as my departing ‘fuck you’ to Solenne, but… I’ll await your corruption, Roger.”
Getting a brilliant idea, Rael blinked out of sight, heading to the inner court of the Silver Palace.
But obviously, Roger was far faster than him, and so…

After desperately avoiding Roger’s attacks, and having his body crushed over and over again, Rael made it outside.
Roger didn’t attack him, and instead, narrowed his eyes at Rael.
“Aster… If that’s even your real name. Whatever you’re about to do… If you go through with it, then there won’t be any way to come back. The Goddess’s generosity spreads far and wide, but—”
“But her bullshit prevails, right?” Rael chuckled. “Yeah, I know, and I’m pretty sure you know exactly what I’m going to do now…”
“So why don’t you enjoy slaughtering your soldiers in a desperate attempt to catch me~?”
The moment Rael spoke those words, he gave a command.
Get my body out of there now!
[On it,] Vatyra announced as an invisible portal began tugging at him from below. The people surrounding him weren’t able to see it, and neither was he the first time.
And when the pull reached its strongest, that meant he was about to be teleported back to Vatyra and Chop-E.
Rather, only his body would be teleported, and as for his mind?
He had made a big show of going outside in an attempt to target the soldiers in the inner court, but what Roger didn’t know was that Marionette Dominion had a range of 1,000,000 meters.
Unlike the Neuroweb skill, this skill could not only passively thread people, but it also allowed him to enter the mind of anyone within 1,000,000 meters without needing to thread them first.
And so, when his Foresight picked up on his body’s disappearance, Rael timed it perfectly and didn’t hesitate to activate Marionette Dominion.
