Capítulo 632: Picking Up A Paintress
“I don’t want to.”
“I see…”
Rael just nodded.
He kind of expected something like this.
In the end, there wasn’t much more he could do.
“Just so you know, I won’t be coming back here,” Rael said. “The next time we see each other, we might be on the battlefield. Though who knows, maybe hiding here really is the strategy.”
With that, he turned around.
“See you next time, Marlen.”
Then he left.
He left Marlen’s dimensional shop, and then reappeared back in the normal world.
Before he could contact Alune and relay the news, it seemed like she was already one step ahead of him.
[So he declined?]
Did you hear everything? Rael mused.
[I didn’t. I just guessed.] Alune sighed. [He had always been a little lazy, and I would’ve been extremely surprised if you somehow managed to drag him out of that hellhole. Still, I appreciate your efforts.]
Huh.
Right…
For some reason, he felt like this had already been prearranged.
More like whatever he told Marlen, he would’ve disagreed because there was already some prior agreement between Alune and Marlen.
It made Rael wonder, but he hid his thoughts since he didn’t want Alune to hear them.
Instead, he just nodded, and after exchanging some pleasantries, Alune’s connection cut off.
He waited a few minutes, and then immediately went into the Prophetic Realm.
Choosing the place as Marlen’s shop, he replayed the last couple of hours, and to his surprise, he saw Alune walking around.
The two exchanged some sort of conversation that Rael couldn’t hear, but seeing how dire the look on Marlen’s face was, Rael knew that was the reason why he disagreed.
But Rael was surprised by how Alune seemed to know about Marlen before he even told her.
Did Marlen and the Depths go even further back than he thought?
How strange.
Still, Rael didn’t feel like putting on the detective’s apron.
Whatever the two had planned was not for him to decipher or interrupt.
Rael would just let fate do its own course.
So he quickly left the Prophetic Realm, and then glanced around.
He was still in Yrgon, and he felt like paying someone a visit.
Aria Virelorn.
He hadn’t seen her in a very long time.
So after moving from one rooftop to another, he eventually arrived at the royal palace.
It was guarded surprisingly heavily.
One might even think they were preparing for war.
But Rael knew that their entire war effort would be rendered useless if he were to so much as snap his fingers.
Therefore, he merely moved faster than the guards could see, and eventually arrived inside the palace.
The throne room was as empty as he remembered.
Except now, Aria was sitting on the throne and sorting through heaps of paperwork.
Clearly, she wasn’t having the most fun.
But when she spotted his figure approaching her, she halted.
Her eyes widened for a moment, and then her expression turned to one of anger.
“Look who decided to show up. It’s been a very long time, Rael Sutekh.”
“Yep. Glad you’re still doing well,” Rael replied.
Bewildered, she pointed at the paperwork.
“Do I look like I’m doing well? All these pieces of shit are giving me so much work, and no one is competent enough to deal with it aside from me. Last time I gave someone some simple work, they nearly put a department in debt.”
Leaning back in her throne, she shot him an annoyed glance.
“Make me some constructs like you’ve done for Zafira. They are competent, aren’t they?”
Rael let out a chuckle, and then did just that.
He created 10 constructs, and although they seemed feeble and very weak… they had hundreds of millions of strength.
One attack from them could probably wipe out this entire world.
But Aria didn’t need to know that.
“Thanks. Made my life just a teeny tiny bit easier. Anyways, what’s the goal here? Why did you show up all of a sudden?” she asked. “Doesn’t seem like you to move around without a purpose.”
Rael hummed.
“I was just curious. Plus, your ability to paint things into existence seemed very overpowered, so I was even more curious how much that ability improved since last time.”
In truth, after spending so much time alone with his thoughts, he realized that she was much more unique than she appeared on the surface.
Abilities that could create something, and even revive someone, were on the brink of impossible.
And if she could actually hone that ability to the point where she could create worlds…
It was hard to imagine the limit of her abilities.
Then again, seeing how swamped she was, he decided to create 30 more constructs, making it 40 in total.
“Oh? Do I just tell them what to do now?” Aria asked.
“Sure, but I’m pretty sure they’re smart enough to look for the most ideal solution,” Rael replied. “Anyhow… What do you say to training? I’m talking like actual training.”
“Is this your idea of freeing me from my work?” Aria chuckled. “Sure. I suppose I can start painting again. I am pretty rusty after all.”
Yeah…
About that…
Rael smiled and approached her.
Then, before she could even say a word, he vanished from sight alongside her.
When he reappeared, he was back on the blue star, standing in front of Uriel, Vatyra, and Anastasia.
“Uhh…” Aria blinked repeatedly. “What just happened?”
“Who’s this?” Vatyra asked.
“Someone I want you to train,” Rael replied. “Can you also start training Uriel?”
Vatyra narrowed her eyes. “You’re still adamant about that?”
Rael shrugged. “It’s better if he knows how to protect himself, no? Do you want him to be powerless when he has all that power?”
Hearing his words, Vatyra simply groaned, then glanced back at Aria.
“You have a little bit of the Law of Creation. I knew someone who had it too, so I guess I can help you practice it a little.”
“Law of Creation…?”
Seeing that they were getting along just fine, Rael patted Uriel’s head, and after exchanging a nod with Anastasia, he made his way out.
Since he was done with the basic stuff, it was about time he contacted Lilith.
