Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster - Chapter 636: The Bet

Chapter 636: The Bet
As per her words, Rael and Lilith were escorted inside the castle.
It was surprisingly nice, and although he didn’t want to admit it, it was much nicer than the Celestara castle.
He honestly felt a little bit stupid.
All this money, and he hadn’t even changed the cracked pillars inside the throne room.
What a shitty husband.
“So how was it?” Rael asked. “The first interaction, I mean.”
Lilith shrugged. “It was more lukewarm than I expected. I honestly thought she might lunge at me and try killing me. She hated me since when I was younger, I got a lot of attention from father, even with my lack of a bloodline.”
“Well, we’re about to have drinks and food. Hope you have a poison tolerance,” Rael said.
She let out a giggle.
“My poison tolerance is very high, but I don’t want any food made in her castle. The merchants’ food was good enough for me.”
Now she’s just being modest…
But at the end of the day, Rael wasn’t going to force her to do something she didn’t want to do.
He was even more surprised that she was holding up so well.
God knows he reacted pretty poorly when it came to revenge.
He lifted the guy into the sky and then killed him, triggering a world collapse.
But he deserved it.
He fucked over Rael’s life.
Hmm… I wonder if I could turn back time at some point, and then change that outcome for one of my past selves? Rael wondered. There seem to be many universes, so I can just do that in some other universe… Maybe?
It was a future project he was keen on trying out.
But for now, he sat down on a comfortable sofa right beside Lilith.
She was a little stiff.
A few maids walked in along with two cups of tea.
The cups had a nice aroma, but when the cups were placed down on the table, Rael could see the poison with his Primordial Sight.
So neither he nor Lilith drank it.
Instead, they just waited… and waited.
Only after a few hours did Elizabeth show up, wearing the same exact dress she had worn when she greeted them.
“My apologies… I thought I could slip into something nicer, but I fell in love with this dress. Sorry for making you two wait so long.”
Mhm.
“You must’ve taken one big dump if that’s your excuse,” Rael said out of nowhere. “But I respect it. Glad you could show up.”
Elizabeth flinched, then glanced at Rael with a puzzled look.
“Are you usually this vulgar?”
Rael raised a brow. “Do you usually make guests wait for hours just because you’re indecisive?”
The two of them locked eyes, glaring at each other.
But that bit of tension was dispelled the moment Lilith let out a hearty chuckle.
“Pfft… Hahaha… You two really don’t seem to get along that well, huh?”
Lilith smiled, then changed the topic. “Anyhow… Sister, how have you been all this time? You must’ve been a little lonely without me pestering you like in the past.”
Elizabeth stared at her for a moment, then took a seat opposite them.
“I suppose your presence did make life a little boring,” Elizabeth said. “Though, I wasn’t too bothered. The other siblings were far more talented at cheering me up.”
“Is that so.” Lilith whistled as a slight smirk appeared on her face. “You’ve grown quite old, sister. When are you going to settle down and finally find a husband?”
The moment she said those words, the atmosphere turned cold.
It seemed like Elizabeth had a weak spot for this kind of stuff.
After all, it was a little crazy that her age was in the four digits, and she didn’t have a boyfriend or a husband.
Though, maybe she swung the other way?
“Sister, you know very well why I don’t look for a husband,” Elizabeth said slowly. “All the demons I have met so far were incompetent. How am I supposed to settle down with a man who’s weaker than me?”
Lilith chuckled again.
“It looks like no matter how much time passed, you still make the same excuses, sister.”
Rael felt a little out of place in this discussion.
The only comment he contributed was at the start.
But oh well, a cat fight between two sisters who hated each other was always interesting.
Elizabeth remained silent for a moment, then her expression turned serious.
“Lilith… if you know what’s good for you, you’ll leave the Demonic Realm and never come back.”
Lilith tilted her head.
“But I just came back? Why would I ever leave, sister? I have the same bloodline as you now, so naturally, I’m officially a royal, am I not?”
“You can deceive others, but you cannot deceive me, Lilith,” Elizabeth replied. “I saw father test your bloodline right in front of my eyes. There was not even a speck of his blood inside you. You’re not only a bastard child, but you’re also a liar.”
Wow…
She was so confidently wrong.
And seeing Lilith’s smirk, it was clear she was enjoying this far more than he was.
“Would you like to make a bet, sister?” Lilith asked. “If I possess the Calamity Demon bloodline, and my bloodline purity is higher than yours, then you must get on your knees and grovel in front of the entire demonic race. If the opposite happens, I’ll grovel instead.”
Elizabeth raised a brow.
“Do you truly wish to make this bet?”
“Of course.” Lilith nodded, then tilted her head slightly. “Are you not confident anymore?”
“As if.” Elizabeth scoffed. “Very well. I agree to the bet. However, I don’t want you to grovel when I win. Instead, I want you out of this place for good.”
That was a little strange.
She could take this chance to embarrass Lilith, but instead, she chose something so passive.
Just what was her ulterior motive?
Rael couldn’t figure it out from the top of his head, so instead, he just sat there as the middleman who confirmed their wager.
But clearly, this discussion was far from over.
