Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster - Chapter 876 876: Caught

What…?
She found Lucien?
Did that mean he actually managed to climb that high up by just clearing boss floors? Rael knew that he was special, but if he actually managed that, then…
Shit…
<Rael Sutekh: Where is he?>
<Gaia: 355th floor at the moment. My trees spotted him, and he’s going up pretty fast, roughly at a rate of one boss floor per minute. So if you focus up, you’ll be able to meet him by the time he gets to the 380th floor.>
That’s right…
<Gaia: I’ll meet you there. See you in a bit.>
With that, she closed the chatroom as well. On the other hand, Rael was shaking out of excitement. He actually hadn’t expected to run into Lucien yet, at least not until he reached the upper floors.
However, it seemed like Rael’s luck wasn’t half bad today if it managed to give him such a present. But then again, Rael felt like there was one giant problem that needed to be addressed, and it was the fact that he couldn’t exactly use mana in the safe zones, at least not yet.
He had been playing around with that concept in his mind, and now, he was dying to actually try it out.
So for starters, Rael approached the statue, and infused it with his killing intent. Then, he quickly broke it. In the next instant, Rael felt as though time had slowed down. Not to mention, in that brief time frame of him switching from the 5th safe zone to the 10th, he managed to spot a single frame where he could reach out to his mana.
And of course, Rael tried it again. Except this time, Rael reached out for the mana that he could just barely feel, and then began drawing it into his body. Finally, once he arrived at the safe zone, Rael felt like he had mana.
Sadly though… That mana was limited, and in just a few seconds, it fizzled out entirely. Rael thought he had done something wrong, but it seemed like he only missed one component.
That component was none other than putting a nuzzle on the damn mana so it couldn’t escape. And he could obviously do so by creating a mana core. He already had one, but from the looks of it, as well as his status screen, it had been erased the moment he entered the tower.
But rather than being erased, it was just very neatly hidden. So obviously, Rael decided to recreate that mana core. He did so every single time he was in the midst of appearing in the next safe zone, and after just a few hundred floors, Rael finally managed to accomplish what he was seeking.
<Ding!>
<You have reunlocked your Mana Core!>
<Neural Core – Dragon Grade>
<You may now use mana freely!>
The moment he reappeared inside the safe zone, Rael felt a connection to his mana, and it was far deeper than it had been before.
He did some quick tests, making sure it was permanent, and afterwards, Rael just went ahead and informed the others through a quick message. He wasn’t sure if they knew how to make mana cores, but it seemed like he didn’t really need to worry that much.
After all…
<Lilith Sutekh: We’re Grade 10s. Of course we know how to do it. I’ll try it now.>
Rael nodded to himself in satisfaction, and when the others gave the same message of approval, he went ahead and continued climbing, until finally, Rael reached the 380th floor.
The moment he reappeared, he was met with the familiar cow-boyish floor. It was mainly for people who liked to do cosplays, and of course, live their lives as some kind of cowboy. Granted, Rael felt like this shit was a bit lame, but since the people were pretty chill, he didn’t mess with them.
Though, I might have to pick cosplay up if any of my wives ever wanna do it… Rael fell into thought. Could I convince Zafira to dress as a bunnygirl?
[I can try talking to her if you want,] Gaia suddenly chimed in.
Rael flinched in surprise, and when he turned around, he saw Gaia just standing there.
“Hello.”
That was very dry.
“Are you sure he’s here?” Rael asked.
She nodded. “I’m positive. He’s about to reappear in a couple of seconds, so get ready to grab him. Also, you can use mana, right?”
“Yep.”
With that, Rael began whistling to himself and waiting patiently.
That was when a certain figure manifested out of nowhere, and that figure was none other than Lucien. He looked the same as before, except now, his clothes were slightly different. If anything, even his style was a little whack.
But Rael attributed it to Lucien just being very, very old.
Still, Rael didn’t feel like messing around at a time like this, and so, he went ahead and snatched Lucien, then pulled him right to the edge of the city.
For a moment, Lucien was confused by what had happened. But once he glanced over to Rael, all of his questions were immediately answered.
Speaking of Rael, he pinned Lucien down to the ground, and pierced him with a few stakes, making it impossible for him to actually escape.
“Welp, I’d say it’s a pleasure to meet you, but I feel like I’ve wasted a decent chunk of my life chasing you down already,” Rael said plainly.
As for Gaia, she leaned down and pierced Lucien’s body with a tree trunk. Rael was confused by what she just did, thinking that she wanted to kill him.
But just then, Rael felt some kind of seal appear over Lucien’s body, locking him down and making it impossible for him to escape, even if only his soul remained.
Realizing the situation that he was in, Lucien merely let out a sigh.
“Greetings, Rael. I’m happy you could make it out here.”
He was still as nonchalant as ever, barely even caring about anything around him.
But sadly for him…
“You’ll be dying today, Lucien.”
