Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster - Chapter 877: Trapping

Chapter 877: Trapping
With those words, Rael went ahead and crouched down. Then, he pierced Lucien with his hand, breaking a few of the bones in Lucien’s arm.
Yet despite the obvious pain he was in, Lucien didn’t even budge an inch. So Rael continued breaking each bone one by one, until eventually, every single bone in Lucien’s body was broken.
“Do you believe everything will truly be over if you kill me like this?” Lucien asked plainly.
Rael shrugged. “Who knows? It’s only a matter of time until I find out, though, so be sure to behave nicely while I dissect your body to pieces.”
With those words, Rael continued doing the same thing as before, except now he began scrambling his nerves, his organs, and lastly, even his brain. It was not a very fun process, since he wasn’t that big on the sadist game.
Still… To manhandle his enemy like this, it felt very intriguing. Still, Rael was a little puzzled whether this was it, or if Lucien would once again pull something out of his ass to escape him.
But as his flesh ripped and his face contorted, he did nothing. It was obvious that this was Lucien’s last stand, of sorts. But was it really…? Did Lucien really not have anything else up his sleeve?
The same man whom he had fought countless times and lost to every single time… Why was that very same man so small now?
“Gaia, what do you think?” Rael asked.
Gaia paused for a moment, then said:
“I don’t think he thought we’d be able to make it up this high. If anything… No, give me a moment…”
She closed her eyes, then abruptly reopened them. A slight trickle of hatred was in her gaze, but also determination.
As if realizing what she had found, Lucien went ahead and let out a chuckle before suddenly trying to bite down on his own tongue and kill himself. But sadly for him, Rael wasn’t some kind of amateur who would let him do that.
So he put his hand inside Lucien’s mouth and began ripping out tooth after tooth, eventually even ripping out a chunk of his tongue, while also stopping the bleeding. Afterwards, he glanced over at Gaia and nodded, asking her to share what she found.
“He has two bodies at the moment. He shifted one over to this tower, while the other is still somewhere in our universe. If either of the bodies dies, then the body which is alive will continue to move independently,” Gaia said, then decided to be a bit more thorough.
“In short, his body on the outside is currently in hibernation. Killing him here will awaken that body of his.”
“And since he’d have so much more time, he’d probably wipe everyone out, huh?” Rael finished with a sigh. “He’s always been so troublesome… But can’t I just kill him here since I have Cosmic Damage? Shouldn’t it reach every single form of his?”
Gaia nodded. “Yes and no. Yes, you can damage every single form of his, but no, you won’t be able to kill him.”
Noticing his confusion, she explained:
“If this body has 100 HP, and the other has 110 HP, you’ll kill this body and still have 10 HP left in the other. In short, he’d have played you and killed everyone you care about by the time you exit the tower. You don’t want that.”
“No shit,” Rael replied and crossed his arms. “I guess I need to keep this guy on a leash then. Any way I can absorb his soul or something?”
“I can store him in a bubble until we’re done,” Gaia suggested.
Rael gave her a thumbs up, agreeing with the plan. Right after, he handed the broken Lucien to Gaia, who then formed a completely green bubble. Yet right as she was about to put Lucien inside, he somehow managed to speak, even though he had no teeth and only half of a tongue.
“Would you care to negotiate an interesting deal?”
Rael scoffed. “Nope. No matter how interesting a deal it is, since it’s coming from such a sadistic person as yourself, I don’t want to hear it.”
Right as he opened his mouth and was about to speak, Gaia put the bubble against him. In the next instant, Lucien’s body was sucked into the bubble, changing its color to a deep shadow of purple.
Though Rael couldn’t even admire the bubble for long, as Gaia merely tossed it inside her inventory and then glanced back at Rael.
“It’s done for now.”
“That was pretty fast…” Rael mumbled. “Is it really alright? I mean, he won’t escape somehow, will he?”
“I’m stronger than him, so no, he won’t be escaping my grasp,” Gaia replied plainly. “Every worry you might have, it should lessen when I’m the one dealing with it.”
Rael was being effortlessly seduced, but despite that, he just gave her a chuckle and then walked back to the center of the city. Since it was only the 380th floor, there were still a couple of floors left before they’d be met with the obvious hurdle of the 500th floor.
But at least now, with Lucien secured, the only thing that Rael really needed to worry about was not dying instantly or being captured. Because of that, his main goal at the moment was just to enter the floor and immediately prestige.
He didn’t want to wander or do anything else. After all, everything else would likely result in his death.
I tried to buy some identities and memories from those at the 495th floor, but there haven’t been any who actually entered the 500th floor. I wonder why that is…? Rael mused.
Was it because they were too powerful, or maybe because the top brass were heavily protected?
Whatever the case may be, Rael knew that it would be troublesome, and so, when he finally finished up doing what he was doing here, he glanced over at Gaia and nodded.
“Let’s go to the 495th floor.”
