- Chapter 443 - 443 443 A Joint Mission

Chapter 443: Chapter 443 A Joint Mission Chapter 443: Chapter 443 A Joint Mission Zhang Chuyang and Wang Zhu were both on a mission outside the base for the first time.
In the past, as they roamed from place to place, they fought wherever they went. Taking on an assigned mission with a specific destination was a new experience for them, and most importantly… they now had a home to return to.
Although they were living communally in a villa, both of them had already started considering it as their current home.
Coming home after killing zombies felt really great.
Zhang Chuyang looked outside in high spirits, even though the early morning was still shrouded in a thin fog.
The destination for Su Jin and her group was a clothing market near the city center, which had a significant population density before the apocalypse. The drone-captured map showed it as a moderate concentration area of zombies.
Since they didn’t know what a moderate concentration area entailed, the family planned to go there and take a look first.
Su Xiangzhe and Lin Cheng turned off the car’s high beams in succession. The fog had gradually dissipated, and visibility and the field of view had improved a lot, so there was no longer a need for the car lights.
To Zhang Chuyang and Wang Zhu, the road to the clothing market seemed surprisingly easy to navigate; there were no vehicles or zombie corpses blocking the road, nor many zombies surrounding the car and impeding its movement.
“Ha ha, the guard squad members from the base regularly come out to clean up those things. I heard that they’ve been piling up the zombie corpses in a designated area at the outskirts of the base, saying they’ll use the bodies as fuel for heating in winter,”
Ye Shuai relayed the news he heard from the Heart Talk Convenience Store, not sure whether it was true or not, but it was true that the base would provide heating in winter.
“It’s hard to imagine that such a divine base exists. We’ve seen so many bases, but none compare to a fraction of this one,”
Zhang Chuyang murmured after listening.
Thus, as the people in the car listened to Zhang Chuyang and Wang Zhu’s tales from their journey, they arrived at their mission destination for the day, all the while marveling and chatting.
There were a few pedestrian streets around the Black Horse Clothing Market that young people loved to visit. Probably because many people were out shopping here when the apocalypse broke out, the number of zombies appeared to be quite dense.
Su Xiangzhe turned the steering wheel a full circle to dodge the fire attack from a fire element mutated zombie ahead.
“Let’s stop here; we’ll take our time fighting our way in,”
Lu Hao said.
Su Xiangzhe nodded, parking the car sideways along the roadside.
As soon as the car stopped, zombies surrounded it. Immediately after, a layer of thunder enveloped the vehicle, forcefully repelling the encircling zombies.
This was a new skill Su Xiangzhe had developed, which proved to be quite useful at that moment.
Seizing the opportunity provided by the zombies getting repelled, the people inside the car quickly opened the doors and got out, slashing all the nearby zombies clean. Then they coordinated to clear the zombies around Lin Cheng’s vehicle as well.
Jian Zongzheng and the others had also found a way to get out of the car.
“You guys take care of that alley over there; we’ll clean this street first,”
Su Jin said as she fought the zombies and spoke to Jian Zongzheng and his companions.
According to Mao Qiqi, the alley was also not short on zombies, likely because it was a food street, so the rooms on both sides had more or less zombies trapped inside.
“Okay,”
Jian Zongzheng and the others headed towards the small alley of the food street and began their fierce combat.
Wang Zhu, though a Space Element Ability User, was also very skilled at killing zombies.
Jian Zongzheng and Yin Qiu along with a few other Special Ability Users protected Anna, Zhang Xiaoai, and Wang Zhu inside the inner circle, leaving the three to mainly hack at the ordinary zombies, while they dealt with the Mutated Zombies around the outside.
After observing Jian Zongzheng and his team’s excellent coordination for a moment, Su Jin concentrated and began to confidently slash at the zombies in front of her.
One advantage of clearing zombies in this market was that the group kept finding a lot of recyclable materials, including many clothing stores with both women’s and men’s clothes.
“We really should have dragged Tianzhen and Tianhui here, just look at these clothes, they’re perfect for people our age,”
After killing a few zombies at the entrance of a clothing store, Huang Yunxiang pulled Su Jin inside.
It didn’t matter if they didn’t come, since Su Jin could just collect everything anyway, and when back home, the sister-in-laws could choose what to wear from the space.
Nie Qing finally found a men’s clothing store, and dragged Lu Guanhai into it to try on clothes.
“Hehe, Old Lu, do I look sharp in this?”
Nie Qing asked as he tried on a red men’s Tang suit, having taken a liking to it for fitting his aesthetic.
“If you don’t want people to start calling you grandpa, you’d better change out of that, it’s what old geezers wear. You really have an ancient taste, huh? Try this on,”
Lu Guanhai threw Nie Qing a black trench coat.
Even Lin Cheng and Su Xiangzhe came in, curiously looking around the men’s clothing in the two rooms.
Lu Hao and Lian Jiyue were still outside, fighting zombies. They seemed to have no interest in clothes, but when Lian Jiyue saw Mao Qiqi running into a clothing store, he followed her in.
Thus, on the entire street, only Lu Hao remained, combating the zombies outside…
Meanwhile, Huang Yunxiang had pulled Lin Xiuyuan to try on clothes, and zombies kept pounding the glass door from outside. After trying on clothes, Su Jin, along with her aunt and Lin Xiuyuan, casually took care of the zombies at the door with a wave of her hand.
“Today is really our lucky day, no one has come to take these clothes,”
Lin Xiuyuan casually launched a dozen Ice Spikes outside, and a row of zombies outside fell in unison.
“Indeed, but we have enough clothes ourselves, it really seems a bit redundant to collect these,”
Huang Yunxiang said, but felt it would be a waste not to take them…
“It’s not redundant, we could open a stall at the base to sell them later, or hang them in the Heart Talk Store and sell them slowly,”
Su Jin would not waste any resources in her space. They would sell the autumn and winter clothing first, and sell the summer clothes the following year.
On the other side, Jian Zongzheng and the others also found some decent loot.
Although many of the food in the snack street’s stores had rotted and were not salvageable, they found many instant noodles in a noodle diner, and even in the back kitchen, there were several rows of instant noodle boxes unopened.
“We hit the jackpot,”
Ouyang Feizhou laughed excitedly, and now that they had Wang Zhu, a Space Element Ability User, they could take everything they found back with them.
Before, since they had no Space Element Ability User in the team, whenever they were lucky to find something, several people had to carry it together, often running out of space in the vehicle. Now, having Wang Zhu made everything much more convenient.
